[00:00:01] [SPEAKER_03]: The following is a presentation of Foosball Radio. Foosball Radio, On the Road

[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_01]: And here we are live once again from the Great Lakes Classic. What a weekend this has been. It just gets better and better.

[00:00:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not on. I cannot hear you. We can hear you so let's see, let's get your...

[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there we go. Now we got you going. A little technicality there. It is Foosball Radio On the Road.

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_01]: We're having a great time this weekend and I'm a... I guess I'd say there's a lot of things that are happening this weekend

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_01]: that are typical of a good tournament. People are having a blast. There's a lot of people we get a chance to talk to

[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_01]: we haven't seen in a while. It's always part of the fun of being with the family. But this weekend I gotta say

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_01]: one of the rows with a remarkable performance is these two gentlemen, one to my left, one to my right.

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_01]: We got Sherwin P, Foosball Radio, and John Garcia. First of all, welcome to Foosball Radio On the Road.

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It's an honor.

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_01]: My goodness. What a performance. Amateur doubles.

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely. It was awesome.

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_04]: It was tough, but we made it.

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Well, you just won rookie doubles recently together.

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, at Worlds. At Worlds. Yeah. So, suddenly, now you're stepping up to amateurs and wiping that field out.

[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Yeah. It was a, it was a, got a little scared. We lost one of our matches that put us in the loser's bracket.

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. Thank God for the double elimination.

    [00:01:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. It wasn't championship format.

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_04]: We got beat two straight and me and Sherwin regrouped. We talked.

    [00:01:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep. Got it.

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_04]: We buckled in and our goal was to come out as champs.

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_04]: True. And we made it to the end and my partner there, Sherwin, is just a beast.

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_04]: He is, he is a monster.

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_01]: He's a phenom. So, okay, Sherwin, I just wanted to give us a quick overview this weekend.

[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_01]: What events have you been in and where have you placed?

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_00]: In pro right now, I took second.

    [00:02:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Second in pro.

    [00:02:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. Pro doubles.

    [00:02:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And, uh.

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: And who is your partner for pro doubles?

    [00:02:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I played with Jeff Schneider.

    [00:02:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Jeffrey Schneider.

    [00:02:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Jeffrey Schneider.

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. Okay. So second in pro doubles. Okay.

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_01]: What, what, what else?

[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Uh. In amateur, I took first.

    [00:02:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Amateur singles.

    [00:02:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

    [00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And amateur doubles?

    [00:02:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Uh. In amateur singles, I took fifth. Amateur doubles, I took first.

    [00:02:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Gotcha.

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And expert standing second or better.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So you're still in it for experts.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. Expert doubles, yep.

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow. And who's your partner there?

    [00:02:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Jeffrey Schneider.

    [00:02:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Jeffrey Schneider.

    [00:02:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

    [00:02:59] [SPEAKER_01]: That's fantastic.

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_01]: So we're talking already potentially four.

    [00:03:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

    [00:03:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Top two finishes.

    [00:03:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

    [00:03:07] [SPEAKER_01]: That's incredible.

    [00:03:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

    [00:03:09] [SPEAKER_01]: So, okay.

    [00:03:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Now you're, you're playing the open.

    [00:03:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm playing open with Tim Kiss.

    [00:03:15] [SPEAKER_00]: That's coming right up.

    [00:03:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Coming right up.

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And who are you playing with?

    [00:03:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm playing with Tim Kiss.

    [00:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Tim Kiss.

    [00:03:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

    [00:03:20] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a great player right there.

    [00:03:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my God.

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_01]: So, John, I gotta ask you man, you step back and you look at this youngster.

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_01]: He's, he's, you know, he's not even in high school yet.

    [00:03:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it's, it's pretty crazy.

    [00:03:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean.

    [00:03:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Right?

[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm amazed on the way he plays.

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, the way he keeps his composure and, uh, he's gonna be a force to be reckoned.

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_04]: He's gonna be a force growing up and, uh, playing this sport.

    [00:03:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's gonna be a force to play.

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_04]: He's gonna be one of the best in the world at one point.

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I truly believe he will be.

    [00:03:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:03:52] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

    [00:03:52] [SPEAKER_01]: No question.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And I have the honor, sorry.

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna have the honor of playing with him.

    [00:03:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

    [00:03:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

    [00:03:57] [SPEAKER_01]: No kidding.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, so you guys play together once in a while in New England, obviously.

    [00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

    [00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

    [00:04:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

    [00:04:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Has he come to Don Carlos?

    [00:04:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_04]: So I know, uh, one of the questions are gonna be asked is how did this all happen?

    [00:04:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh huh.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, so I usually typically play with Chris Amaral, which is another phenomenal player.

    [00:04:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_04]: He is coming up in the ranks.

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_04]: He went to Florida, did very well in Florida.

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, he did very well.

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_04]: He had a good showing this weekend.

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And, um, so what ended up happening was, was me and him were supposed to play in worlds

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_04]: and, well, he was supposed to go, but he never, he failed to give me an answer.

    [00:04:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And I gave him a cut off date.

    [00:04:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And, um, he couldn't, he couldn't give me a for sure.

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_04]: So then I talked, when we had our tournament at Don's, um, I talked to his parents.

    [00:04:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And I actually, um, asked, and she's like, you wanna play with Sherwin?

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, sure, absolutely, I'll play with him.

    [00:04:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And we, we went to Kentucky and, uh, we just destroyed everybody.

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we surprised when he just crushed everyone.

    [00:05:05] [SPEAKER_00]: It was awesome.

    [00:05:05] [SPEAKER_00]: It was nice.

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, he played out of his, he played, played awesome at worlds.

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Now you, you guys both place, can play front or back?

    [00:05:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

    [00:05:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_00]: So whenever like I play bad, he's always, he can have my back.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_00]: He has my back.

    [00:05:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

    [00:05:20] [SPEAKER_00]: He's really nice.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And, um, yeah, it's just, for me, I really like playing with people that can like, are

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_00]: real, are good at front when I need them to be up front.

    [00:05:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause some, I can't, I'm inconsistent really.

    [00:05:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

    [00:05:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And I can't always play at my best.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So I guess sometimes I just need someone to get up there and do the job.

    [00:05:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

    [00:05:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And block and block form.

    [00:05:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Just gotta go a couple of blocks and hopefully throw in one from the back here and there.

    [00:05:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:05:51] [SPEAKER_04]: There you go.

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And get it done.

    [00:05:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

    [00:05:53] [SPEAKER_01]: That's the best.

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_01]: No, it's, it's, uh, that's what good teamwork is all about.

    [00:05:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Being able to rely on each other, cut each other's back.

    [00:06:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, when the chips are down, you come together, you talk about it.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_01]: So just give me an example during like the finals of amateur doubles today, just give me

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_01]: a sample of what was a conversation you had in, in a timeout.

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: You step away from the table and you're in trouble.

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_01]: What was the conversation like?

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, usually when we're in trouble, it's usually me, but like when it's my thing, he

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_00]: usually tells me what, what's open, you know, what he's leaving.

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause I, I look by sometimes look at the wrong thing.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_00]: So he just, he has my back on like, he's like the watcher basically.

    [00:06:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Gotcha.

    [00:06:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So typically when he's playing, um, yeah, like he said, he, he chooses the wrong hole and

    [00:06:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm, I'm looking at it from afar.

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_04]: So, and I don't have to worry about rocking the ball or shooting the ball.

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_04]: All I'm looking is the hole.

    [00:07:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm looking for the hole.

    [00:07:03] [SPEAKER_01]: There you go.

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And, um, there was a bunch of times that we call timeout.

    [00:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I pulled them aside.

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_04]: He asks me, you want to go up?

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, no, no, listen, settle down.

    [00:07:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

    [00:07:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Take your time.

    [00:07:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And I usually tell him, this is the hole that I see that is open.

    [00:07:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Go for it.

    [00:07:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Just go.

    [00:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't be afraid.

    [00:07:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Just rip it.

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And, um, and it's the results.

    [00:07:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Fantastic.

    [00:07:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Again, teamwork.

    [00:07:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

    [00:07:29] [SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's so cool.

    [00:07:31] [SPEAKER_01]: So, okay.

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_01]: John, you've been at this for how long?

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_01]: How long have you been playing foosball?

    [00:07:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I want to say since I was, I don't even, I can't even tell how many years, but I'm 51

    [00:07:45] [SPEAKER_04]: now.

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I've been playing foosball since high school.

    [00:07:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Since high school.

    [00:07:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Senior year.

    [00:07:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_04]: No, even earlier than that.

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Probably like sophomore year, freshman year in high school.

    [00:07:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Playing at the local boys clubs and, um, boys club and just playing, never competitive.

    [00:07:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I became more competitive in my twenties.

    [00:08:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I went to Vegas, been to, uh, Dallas when the, the world was held at Dallas.

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, and that was pretty much it.

    [00:08:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And, um, that was it.

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And I delayed, I've told this story before.

    [00:08:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I went on a layoff.

    [00:08:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

    [00:08:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Over 10 years.

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I just came back.

    [00:08:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's, I've been back for a few years now.

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And now I'm starting to come out more and play.

    [00:08:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_04]: We have a special group down in the five Oh eight area.

[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, we have a great group of guys.

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_04]: We couldn't do what we do.

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, we couldn't do it if it wasn't for them.

    [00:08:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

    [00:08:36] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, right.

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, we're actually making a mock throughout the football world.

    [00:08:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I believe.

    [00:08:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

    [00:08:43] [SPEAKER_04]: We're no pro masters.

    [00:08:44] [SPEAKER_04]: We're not pros.

    [00:08:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, but we're working there.

    [00:08:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And we're making noise and, um, showing up and doing this.

    [00:08:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, exactly.

    [00:08:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And turning that.

    [00:08:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

    [00:08:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the New England family.

    [00:08:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:08:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:08:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Sherwin's from New England.

    [00:08:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the family.

    [00:09:00] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_01]: No doubt about it.

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_01]: So, did you ever imagine when you got back into foosball a while ago, did you ever imagine

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_01]: that you'd be playing with someone like Sherwin?

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no bust on your age, but you know, it's like, he's so much younger and yet

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_01]: you guys are such a great team.

[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_01]: You ever imagined it ever happening?

    [00:09:18] [SPEAKER_04]: No, never.

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Never, never, never, never.

    [00:09:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Never.

    [00:09:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Never thought of it.

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_04]: When I first seen him and his brother ever playing, I was like, wow, these kids are unbelievable.

    [00:09:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Who are these kids?

    [00:09:28] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_04]: But, I get to meet them, I play with them, we talk to them, he's got an awesome family.

    [00:09:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Stan and Cheryl are unbelievable parents.

[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, the kids are great, I love them.

    [00:09:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, they're friendly, and they're foosball players, they're really competitive, you know?

    [00:09:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_04]: To me, sometimes I think they don't even try, and they just, and they just storm everybody.

    [00:09:53] [SPEAKER_04]: So...

    [00:09:53] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what, it's amazing.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, that comes down to the fact that Stan, who's your dad, he has you on a pretty

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_01]: good regimen of practice, correct?

    [00:10:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

    [00:10:03] [SPEAKER_01]: What's it like?

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, in summer times, we don't really do much but practice every day, so we try to

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_00]: get at least five hours in.

[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Wait, hold on, five hours a week?

    [00:10:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Five hours a day.

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_01]: What, wait, wait, wait, five hours a day?

    [00:10:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Get out of here.

    [00:10:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Seriously.

    [00:10:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Five hours a day?

    [00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy.

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: If you do anything for five hours a day, you're gonna get good at it.

    [00:10:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna get paid.

    [00:10:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:10:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Right?

    [00:10:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Dang.

    [00:10:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Five hours a day.

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And so, what do you practice for five hours?

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing?

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we mostly just play.

    [00:10:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I play against my dad.

    [00:10:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And my brother, we roto.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I play against my dad.

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Then after that game, my brother plays against my dad.

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_00]: We just keep doing that and we just...

    [00:10:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Just keep playing.

    [00:10:51] [SPEAKER_04]: But there's rules, I heard.

    [00:10:52] [SPEAKER_04]: There's like special things.

    [00:10:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

    [00:10:54] [SPEAKER_04]: You gotta execute.

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't execute, you lose the ball.

    [00:10:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Ooh.

    [00:10:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Right?

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Like passing, if you lose a pass.

    [00:11:00] [SPEAKER_04]: That's harsh.

    [00:11:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how that...

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Not really, but like, no five bars really.

    [00:11:06] [SPEAKER_00]: No five bars.

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Because he likes to say he likes to play clean.

    [00:11:10] [SPEAKER_00]: You know?

    [00:11:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm not...

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a perfect person that always plays clean.

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_00]: So, he tries to...

    [00:11:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

    [00:11:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_04]: In this sport, you have to use the five bars.

    [00:11:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_04]: You gotta have the five bars.

    [00:11:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:11:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Dude, that's five hours.

    [00:11:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean...

    [00:11:26] [SPEAKER_04]: That's amazing.

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_01]: If you keep that...

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's no question by the time...

    [00:11:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

    [00:11:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Who knows?

    [00:11:32] [SPEAKER_01]: By the time...

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_01]: What are you now?

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_01]: How old are you?

    [00:11:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm 15.

    [00:11:35] [SPEAKER_00]: 15?

    [00:11:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

    [00:11:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_01]: So, by the time you're graduating high school, five hours a day, you're gonna be like a pro

    [00:11:41] [SPEAKER_01]: master.

    [00:11:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully, yeah.

    [00:11:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

    [00:11:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully.

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, hopefully he'll be the second one as young as Billy Pappas, right?

    [00:11:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I am not worthy.

    [00:11:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not worthy.

    [00:11:51] [SPEAKER_01]: No, it's...

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_01]: That's what it takes though, right?

    [00:11:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

    [00:11:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Dedication.

    [00:11:56] [SPEAKER_01]: A practice regimen.

    [00:11:58] [SPEAKER_04]: He's just gonna get better.

    [00:11:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:12:00] [SPEAKER_01]: No kidding.

    [00:12:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, don't stop, man.

    [00:12:02] [SPEAKER_01]: It's exciting.

    [00:12:03] [SPEAKER_01]: So exciting.

    [00:12:03] [SPEAKER_04]: You're the future.

    [00:12:04] [SPEAKER_04]: He's the future of foosball.

    [00:12:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:12:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

    [00:12:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly right.

    [00:12:07] [SPEAKER_04]: You are.

    [00:12:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely, yes.

    [00:12:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, here's the thing.

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_01]: There's so many things a kid could do in a day that would be okay playing video games.

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_01]: You like video games, right?

    [00:12:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

    [00:12:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, when you're playing foosball, are you thinking about video games?

    [00:12:24] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

    [00:12:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Focusing on the game.

    [00:12:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?

    [00:12:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And do you have your phone to your hand?

    [00:12:30] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

    [00:12:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

    [00:12:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Now there's something right there.

    [00:12:34] [SPEAKER_01]: So...

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_04]: You gotta do your homework first, right?

    [00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: School work first.

    [00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Education comes before anything.

    [00:12:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.

    [00:12:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

    [00:12:40] [SPEAKER_00]: That's good.

    [00:12:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_01]: So at 15 years of age, what do you wanna do when you graduate high school?

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_00]: To be honest, I'm not really sure.

    [00:12:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll...

    [00:12:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Time will tell?

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep, time will tell.

    [00:12:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

    [00:12:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Be a pro master.

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there you go.

    [00:12:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Be on the tour.

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think that's a foregone conclusion at this point, it seems like.

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so what are you interested in though?

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_01]: What do you like?

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you like, uh... technology?

    [00:13:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm...

    [00:13:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Technology, uh, carpentry.

    [00:13:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm...

    [00:13:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I like...

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So there's these things in school, like...

[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_00]: So there's different types of classes that you can take, like industrial trade and carpentry,

    [00:13:23] [SPEAKER_00]: engineering.

    [00:13:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I guess take those classes at school and hopefully I could use those skills to put

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_00]: it into my future career.

    [00:13:30] [SPEAKER_00]: There you go.

    [00:13:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.

    [00:13:32] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a great career too, an engineer.

    [00:13:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_01]: No question about it.

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And you can engineer the game, sorry.

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_04]: You can engineer the game and break it all down and put it in a blueprint and show us

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_04]: how you shoot that snake shot, that rollover.

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_04]: How do you break it down?

    [00:13:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Sell it.

    [00:13:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Sell that blueprint.

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Sell it, there you know.

    [00:13:46] [SPEAKER_01]: It's uh...

    [00:13:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's...

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, if you get something unique like that, people are willing to pay for the lessons.

    [00:13:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.

    [00:13:53] [SPEAKER_01]: You know?

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_01]: They want to learn what you know, but man, five hours a day, I still can't get over that.

    [00:13:58] [SPEAKER_01]: That's extraordinary.

    [00:14:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.

    [00:14:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations.

    [00:14:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks.

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And now it shows, right?

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_01]: So now you're coming out to tournaments like this and walk away with four top two finishes.

    [00:14:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, come on.

    [00:14:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's unbelievable.

    [00:14:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

    [00:14:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

    [00:14:11] [SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.

[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And so we're, me and my partner is gonna play me and my, uh, my dad and my mom for expert

    [00:14:29] [SPEAKER_00]: double finals.

    [00:14:30] [SPEAKER_00]: What?

    [00:14:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So that's gonna be a battle.

    [00:14:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

    [00:14:33] [SPEAKER_04]: That is crazy.

    [00:14:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a Polowski house here.

    [00:14:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:14:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:14:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Can't believe it.

[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_01]: So if you win, does that mean you get like a day off?

    [00:14:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to be in the house if you win.

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_04]: You guys are in trouble.

    [00:14:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

    [00:14:49] [SPEAKER_01]: That's cool.

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're gonna be watching that one.

    [00:14:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_04]: It's gonna be a full house watching in the stands.

    [00:14:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So what's going on?

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_01]: John, I know, you know, you guys have the scene of 508.

    [00:15:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, what's, what's in the, what's on the plans for 2025?

    [00:15:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Keep playing.

    [00:15:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, hopefully big things come.

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, we are actually talking about something big too.

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Is it going to come up?

    [00:15:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't know.

    [00:15:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, no, no, no.

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I know there's been a lot of hopes and a lot of, a lot of talk, but you're going

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_04]: to make it work, right?

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: You're going to make it happen.

    [00:15:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, yeah, it's just, I'm just hoping to try to make it bigger, trying to just hope we can

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_04]: just get bigger and, and just play, right?

    [00:15:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Just play, be happy, not be happy.

    [00:15:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Be happy and just enjoy and laugh.

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Be happy, just play.

    [00:15:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And laugh and, um, learn from each other.

    [00:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, you know, you have Chris, Chris is one of the better ones out of our group right

    [00:15:50] [SPEAKER_04]: now.

    [00:15:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

    [00:15:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt Countois.

    [00:15:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt.

    [00:15:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt.

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt, you got Philippe Sales.

[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_04]: We played him today.

    [00:15:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You got Philippe Sales.

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You got a lot of potential people in our group that are.

[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Randy Raposa as well.

    [00:16:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

    [00:16:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Randy.

    [00:16:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I consider Randy 508.

[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Just don't tell Randy we said that.

    [00:16:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause he gets a big head.

    [00:16:06] [SPEAKER_01]: He's hard to handle.

    [00:16:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:16:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.

    [00:16:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Randy's good dude.

[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Randy helps us out a lot.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_04]: He's, he helps us out a lot by like coaching us and yes, you know, he does, he does his

    [00:16:17] [SPEAKER_04]: job, you know?

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And, um, and I appreciate that.

    [00:16:19] [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't forget his roots.

    [00:16:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:16:21] [SPEAKER_04]: No, no.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't like calling him because he starts calling me dumb.

    [00:16:24] [SPEAKER_04]: You're a dumb ass.

    [00:16:25] [SPEAKER_04]: You're a dumb ass.

    [00:16:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Dude.

    [00:16:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just like, yeah.

[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_01]: There's motivation for you right there.

[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_01]: You don't want Randy to call you a dumb ass.

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Get on the table and work.

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_04]: He actually said that to me today.

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_04]: When we called the time out, he come over, he was talking to Sherwin, like the holes he's

    [00:16:42] [SPEAKER_04]: seen.

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he looked at me and says, dumb ass, you take your damn time, will ya?

    [00:16:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Dumb ass.

    [00:16:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, what?

    [00:16:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I love it.

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_01]: That is the best.

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, one of the things about the Northeast in general, you guys are the best group I

    [00:16:57] [SPEAKER_01]: think we've come across.

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, 5.8 is tight and it's cool, but you guys are like first cousins.

    [00:17:03] [SPEAKER_01]: There's Randy right there.

    [00:17:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Right there, Randy.

    [00:17:05] [SPEAKER_01]: The man.

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_04]: The Polk High jersey.

    [00:17:07] [SPEAKER_01]: He's wearing the Bundy jersey.

    [00:17:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_01]: But, no, you guys are like, you're like first cousins.

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_01]: When you come to play, we have a blast.

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I love playing out with New York.

    [00:17:19] [SPEAKER_04]: We like it a lot.

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_04]: It just sucks sometimes it gets done too late and we get home at like 3, 4 in a morning.

    [00:17:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Yup.

    [00:17:25] [SPEAKER_00]: That's a struggle for us.

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause sometimes it's even like in school days and like can't stay for that long.

    [00:17:31] [SPEAKER_00]: That's why we struggle.

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_04]: No, but we're gonna continue to go.

    [00:17:34] [SPEAKER_04]: We love it.

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_04]: We all talk about it.

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_04]: We try and encourage all our group to go.

[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_04]: We usually try to come with a good showing.

    [00:17:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Yup.

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, yeah, we like, we like playing there.

[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause good, you guys got great competitors.

    [00:17:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:17:47] [SPEAKER_04]: We're lucky.

    [00:17:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

    [00:17:48] [SPEAKER_04]: You got Nino.

    [00:17:50] [SPEAKER_04]: You got Walker.

    [00:17:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Tommy Yor.

    [00:17:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

    [00:17:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Tommy Yor.

    [00:17:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Can't forget about Tommy Yor.

    [00:17:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Man.

    [00:17:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Sam.

    [00:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I already forgot his name already from Syracuse.

    [00:18:00] [SPEAKER_04]: What's his name?

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're talking about, uh, Kevin Westcott.

    [00:18:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

    [00:18:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Westcott.

[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_01]: It's how you grow the scene.

    [00:19:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Get everybody going.

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And of course, just invite other people to play.

    [00:19:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
