[00:00:01] [SPEAKER_00]: The following is a presentation of Foosball Radio, Foosball Radio, on the Road.
[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_01]: And here we are live on Twitch TV and Foosball Radio on the road with Liz Hill Moore.
[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_01]: It's been so long since we had a chance to chat.
[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it seems like a year or so since I think it was worlds of 20, let me think about this 2021.
[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, last time?
[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I trust that.
[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, it's been a long time.
[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_01]: So how are things going on?
[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're here, you're here as we all are.
[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, it's really been a fun tournament.
[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I love always seeing people, of course, I love competition.
[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's always good to be present and see what's going on.
[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, it's been a good weekend.
[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Cool.
[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_01]: So when was the last time you went to a tournament, by the way?
[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So I went to Texas and then prior to that was Vegas.
[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_02]: So not hit all the tournaments I used to.
[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just like three.
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_02]: What it used to be, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Things change, right?
[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Things, yeah, we, we, we, uh, priorities change.
[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_02]: They do, they do, but I still love these ball.
[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oh yeah, you got it.
[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think that at least, um, within the last, well, since COVID, let's say,
[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_01]: um, the interest overall in the sport is growing.
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_01]: You can kind of see it.
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's this blossoming of interest and now, um, more tournaments,
[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: it seems.
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I think so.
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a lot more tournaments to choose from, um, and maybe that
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_02]: saturates.
[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's a little bit, but you know, you're not seeing this big.
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And people want to go to what's convenient for them sometimes.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I know always like to hit hit a big one every now and again,
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_02]: but there's some other local tournaments I would like to visit someday.
[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, sure.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, absolutely.
[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so first of all, we, in case you're just tuning in, we're coming to you live
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_01]: from the 2024 World Championships.
[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not supposed to say that.
[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry it's tornado champion gypsies.
[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_02]: It's always going to be a world champion.
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's hard to change that.
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: No, it's, I know there's a proprietary thing going on there, but whatever.
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_01]: But yes, so it's, it's, it's been a pretty amazing weekend.
[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_01]: I think so overall we've seen some really surprising performances.
[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, can I name drop here?
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Trevor Park.
[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Whoa.
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, now he's, is he in his 40s still?
[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, what, what, how old is he?
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_01]: He did you know?
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I have no idea.
[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_02]: No idea, but I know that he was around when I was around.
[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, got it.
[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Back in early 90s.
[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_02]: It's late, he's so, okay.
[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm not sure how old Trevor is, but I am so tickled with his win.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't actually get to watch it with my eyeballs.
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I've watched it on video later.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Super impressed with how well he played on May.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_02]: He was a very tall three rods.
[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Just so much knowledge and control and, you know, Trevor's, she'll guy.
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_01]: He's really a, a sweetheart as a person, uh, very humble and unassuming,
[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_01]: but when you get him on the table.
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_02]: It was, it was awesome.
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So let's see.
[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's take inventory here.
[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_01]: He beat Ryan.
[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_01]: And he beat Brandon.
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And he beat Tommy.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_02]: In that order?
[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about that order necessarily, but all those, those three names.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a big deal.
[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I, yeah.
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it seems like Tommy, you're, uh, I'm not biased or anything,
[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_01]: but he's been, you know, pretty serious.
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, and to Trevor some credit, he's been in a lot of finals matches.
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_02]: He knows what a finals match feels like.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_02]: He probably could tell you he's got a few second places.
[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's the thing, right?
[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_01]: So he's, he's come so close.
[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So many times.
[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, never the bride always the bride's made, right?
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So when you get to that point in your career, it's like, well,
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_01]: how much time do I have left here to finally do this?
[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm thinking if he's in his 40s, maybe early 50s even, possibly.
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe.
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. Well, we'll find out.
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_02]: You can ask him when you get him back here.
[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk to him about it.
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I mean, it seems like that, uh, that achievement in someone's career.
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, okay.
[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I can rest.
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I'd like to hear what was different for him this time.
[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, me too.
[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Because it's not just something that happens as an accident, especially with those
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_01]: talented players going against this Trevor and just winning.
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Just winning.
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I'd seen more of the matches.
[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll have to go back and take a look.
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, modern foods has their videos up on Twitch.
[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sure they're all going to turn one YouTube eventually.
[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_01]: So we can all see it.
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_01]: But that is historic.
[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's great.
[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm so happy for him.
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Big deal.
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think most people were.
[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm sure it was stinky for Ryan to lose or for Tommy to lose to him.
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think I bet they're also very happy.
[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of how I feel about the women's doubles event.
[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's a very, very tough thing.
[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's a very tough thing.
[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Very tough thing.
[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Over time match and it, it, it.
[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: And we're so about this weekend.
[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_01]: This weekend.
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It physically made me sick to my stomach.
[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to want them to go on and win.
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Women's doubles was so amazing.
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Just to fill in our listeners.
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Who are you referring to?
[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean Maggie and Jessica.
[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Another one for the gold.
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_02]: The other one.
[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I don't want to take anything away from, from who they beat because those girls are amazing.
[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I respect them all so much in the level of.
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Fusball these women are putting out right now.
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just up there.
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But I have to say I was very happy.
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And you are.
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I have to say watching your matches and I've been watching some recent matches.
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_01]: You are fierce.
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's astounding anybody can out out.
[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Win you on the table because you're a very smart player.
[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_01]: But also just, you know, when you're on your on.
[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's amazing.
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It is.
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know where it comes from but I'm glad it's there.
[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, when I'm on, I'm on like you said, but then when it doesn't translate into a win,
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: it's very, very difficult to take.
[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But I've learned a process through those things and that's okay.
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I accept that about myself.
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_02]: And it makes me who I am.
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I can move on from it.
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate, you know, the outcome of what these other players are doing.
[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not the only person out there who's a passion player.
[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not the only female player who's dedicated to what they do.
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So I do recognize that.
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's what I saw this weekend from those two gals because, you know,
[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_02]: the match that we played for them to get to the final and then for them to come from a two game to nothing.
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_01]: We were, we were, you know, talking about this last week because we had Sullivan and Henan to talk about,
[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, the upcoming tournament.
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And if I guess if they had won it would have been four times in a row this weekend.
[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Probably.
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_01]: They called it a four-peat and it was not to be.
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Not to be.
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And you know, if you think about the Olympics and athletics and how these ball evolution, you know, eventually,
[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: you can't stay on top forever. It's tough.
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_02]: It's tough. And if the sport is moving forward the way it should be and people are learning and growing.
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_02]: We have all this video content.
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_02]: We have matches we can watch online and commentary and so much more now than the VHS tapes that I used to watch.
[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_02]: There should be a evolution.
[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_02]: There should be upsets happening.
[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_01]: It's encouraging to say that, okay,
[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_01]: really great young upstarts coming up the ladder here and they're really making some inroads.
[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_01]: And they've won three times a row.
[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_01]: It's still the more experienced older players that pulled it out this weekend.
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, we can make it.
[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's that's what football is all about.
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_01]: You cannot necessarily predict.
[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Although I will have to say because of the open doubles with Tommy Yor and Ryan Moore on the same team.
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I think there's one to one odds if you're a bookmaker.
[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And then they're opponents.
[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Right, right.
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Fireballs.
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So I have to ask you the question because we recently went to Dallas, Texas for the ITSF and they had a completely different format. Of course it was a European format.
[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_01]: What did you, I mean, did you get a chance to watch any of that or?
[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I did. I did. I actually probably watched more than I normally get to.
[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_02]: So I was super impressed with the younger pan players.
[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I love this Swiss format.
[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's really good for the sport.
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially, you know, there's a call for change happening and change is hard sometimes.
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think Swiss is really great.
[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I watch a lot of great matches and I'm super impressed.
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And I can't think of their names right now.
[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But some of those young players that came over for Europe and...
[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a lot of fun to watch.
[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a lot of fun to see the talent.
[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's they're used to that format.
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_02]: They don't know what to do out of three double the whole time.
[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_02]: What is that?
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_02]: It was right down there, Ali.
[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_01]: We were, I guess you could say isolated in so many ways because we've used the same double elimination system for what?
[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_01]: 40 years? I don't know.
[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a long time. That's all I've ever known.
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. So, yeah.
[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_01]: It's good to see a little injection of some innovation and maybe some change and some variations on the idea of competitive football.
[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the in order for anything to survive it has to evolve.
[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. So, speaking of which, what are your plans for the next year or so when it comes to playing?
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I don't know. I don't know. I still plan to play.
[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. I don't know what it's going to look like next year.
[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, I really would love to be a part of the World Cup team.
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_02]: So much fun. I love World Cup. I've been involved with it for many years.
[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't six, seven times.
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Is that a record by the way?
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_02]: For one, maybe.
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe. I'm not sure. I'll have to really go back and think about how many times it's been.
[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But so I'm hoping for that.
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. I'm hoping for that would love to be a part of that again, but as far as the US tour is concerned, you know? So we're not having a Colorado state.
[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. I don't know if I'm going to show up to another term at this year in the US, but
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm still going to play. We'll see what next year looks like.
[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I really am looking forward to hitting a few tournaments I've never been to before.
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Nice.
[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Just something different. I really wanted to go to Ohio. I didn't have an opportunity to do that.
[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_01]: And that was a really good tournament.
[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would have loved to have gone up there.
[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, maybe next year.
[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's we're planning to be at Michigan State for it's now called the Great Lakes Classic.
[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. So that's that's really fine as well because that's nice hotel.
[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_01]: It's really, really easy to get to it. I mean, lancing is kind of, I guess the same size is Lexington in so many ways.
[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_01]: And the airport is similar in size, but it's still, it's a good destination. I drove there last year 11 hours.
[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's still well worth it. It's a really nice location and Michael Stahl is doing a great job.
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've seen a lot of all of the things that he is doing for football. I think it's wonderful.
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_02]: What is that?
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_01]: No, that's October the 11th.
[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let me flip 12th and 13th I believe something like that.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it's not as prestigious necessarily as Colorado State or more Texas.
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's still he's building this one year at a time.
[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I really love that. I love that and I know he's put in a lot of time and effort and I lie to him.
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I am going to another tournament. How could I forget?
[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes.
[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_02]: The next year is getting better.
[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_02]: That's going to forget about it.
[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_02]: It's my second here.
[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_02]: It's my hometown.
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah. So I don't know why I was thinking.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't.
[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I was thinking I was done.
[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I have another who rock.
[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no going home is when we say Florida that's home.
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't matter what city we're in.
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_01]: That's your home state.
[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's your home state.
[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Really looking forward to that.
[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Someone actually offered me a free flight to go to that tournament.
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just, it just isn't in the card side like, you know.
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I do want to go and it's just, you know, circumstances being what they are.
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Sure.
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Got to maintain my employment.
[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_02]: That's important. That's important. Yeah.
[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_01]: But no, it's, I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Man, I can't wait to see you get inducted.
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's a special one.
[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_02]: It's because it's where it all started for me.
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's kind of interesting that it's taking this long, but I know, you know,
[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Every state has a different system and a lot of people don't even realize that I'm from Florida.
[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's been so, it's been so long.
[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_02]: It's been a long time since I've lived in Oklahoma longer than I've lived in Florida now at this point.
[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_02]: But my roots are from there.
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And I attribute a lot of my success to the foundation I had, you know, playing in Florida.
[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_02]: So I just was in the right place at the right time and played football in an era where I was surrounded by world champions.
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_02]: A ton of them.
[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, not talking about two or three. We're talking like half a dozen.
[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you can't help it get better in there.
[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, that was so.
[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I always love the story that you've told in the past.
[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I know on air about they were mean to you.
[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_02]: You must have been talking to my green recently now.
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I'm not saying me. But really, I think that they just really didn't care who is across the table from them.
[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_02]: They're about competition and winning and maybe they in my eyes it seemed that way.
[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think they also may be recognized that I was maybe getting good.
[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, no one wants to get beat by a young girl.
[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, how could I not get good? How could I not get good by playing against them? Time and time.
[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And I played a lot of football, a lot of who's ball back then.
[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_02]: It just takes a special personality to go through that kind of beating into Lauren and to just get abused on the table.
[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And to just keep going and it's football players, especially in that regard.
[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. And so I do attribute their meanness to my greatness.
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_01]: So in other words, you are forged in the cauldron of fire. Yes.
[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_02]: That should be a movie.
[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right?
[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_02]: So yes.
[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean anything that you really want to be the best at.
[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_01]: You have to play the best. Right?
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_01]: So you can't just do it without having.
[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Again, all the stars were aligned.
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I was in the right place at the right time and in the right era.
[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_02]: The right location.
[00:16:00] Yep.
[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_02]: It just, it was meant to be.
[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_01]: And it seems to me too with the crew you're referring to those top pros of the time.
[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're mean to you and they beat you up on the table and stuff.
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_01]: But you know what? They're probably still family aren't they?
[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_02]: They are. Absolutely.
[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's what makes this particular Hall of Fame induction, the most special.
[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. I mean don't get me wrong. I'm honored to be in the US Hall of Fame.
[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, sure. I'm honored to be a Texas legend.
[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm honored to be in the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But without my roots in Florida, none of those would have happened.
[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_03]: So that's big.
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. So I have a lot of things I want to say while I'm there. We'll see if I get it out.
[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_01]: So in the near future, we have plans to put together the top 20, 25 women players of all time.
[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. I have a feeling you're going to be in that list. I don't know just saying.
[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_01]: So would you be interested in and also well helping us with that?
[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. I'm not really sure. It would be an honor. Okay.
[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I can think of so many fierce matches I played when I was young against some amazing top women.
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Sure. And then here I am 30 years later.
[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: You can add a few of these young ones to the list. Yeah.
[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Yeah. It would be fun curating that list.
[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about Isabelle Stelle.
[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Now, she only started playing what three years ago?
[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure, but let me tell you her rise to the level of play has been really, really amazing to watch.
[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's such a gem of a person and that's who I'm playing with in Florida by the way.
[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no.
[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it would be a lot of fun.
[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: So yes.
[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And you guys will be able to switch too.
[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. I'm pretty good.
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I primarily known as Florida, but I have a very good goalie game too.
[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, and so yeah, there's some switchability there. So yeah, it'll be fun to play with her.
[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, watching her grow as a player in confidence.
[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I remember playing several matches against her early on and beating her in singles.
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And the next thing I know that ended.
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_02]: She's climbing the ranks.
[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. That's the future of the sport, obviously.
[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And we are we as a spectators and fans.
[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we always want somebody to root for. You know, who right now, Mel, female.
[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Who do you root for? Who do you who?
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_02]: That's really tough.
[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, when it comes to the women's fuzball, I have to say I'm just so impressed with the women overall with like,
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Let me just talk about Hannah for a second.
[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. You know, Hannah isn't here to the scene.
[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Hannah was playing years and years ago when I was playing.
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe she wasn't as consistent in her player. She's always been good. She's always been a competitor.
[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But like with Hannah, what I've seen in her the most is just the willingness to change her game up to be more competitive.
[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I don't know where that change happened or what year it was.
[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_02]: But I just remember watching her play and then watching her play again. And it was different. So she evolved. She's like, she's like,
[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, something I'm doing has to change. And she figured whatever that was out, implemented it, practice it, whatever. And now she's playing at this higher level.
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: That's yes. Super impressive. So I really love that. And of course, you know,
[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Sullivan is amazing to watch. She's been playing fuzball for so very long. I remember which was a baby. I held her baby.
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And so her parents are great fuzball players. So you expect greatness there too.
[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And I've seen her evolve and adjust as well.
[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, so I really love women's fuzball right now and the achievements and the accomplishments that are happening. And you know, women,
[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_02]: for a while, a long time this isn't new.
[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not new, but there's just so many of the women changing and growing and making big scene now. There's more of us. They're just really
[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_01]: conquering all of these different levels of achievements and winning different events. And so yeah, we're in the age when women are winning open events, open doubles events.
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's that was history right there. Yeah, I mean, so this is something to get used to and to cherish because it is, I mean,
[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_01]: and why wouldn't it attract more people to the game? You know, you hope it would. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say, I think we're very lucky as a sport. We have just highly intelligent and very capable women players who have gone toe to toe with men consistently.
[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And there's nothing you could say that other than their great players playing in simple.
[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep, so I agree. Yeah, very cool. So let me just ask you this one and you don't have to answer necessarily five years from now.
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, where do you want to be?
[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, with football. Oh, goodness. You know, it's interesting that you asked me this question because somebody asked me this question 30 years ago.
[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And they said, where do you see yourself in 10 years?
[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I said, I'm probably not going to be playing football. Really? So I'm going to say the same thing. I don't know that I'm still going to be playing those ball in five years at this level.
[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there is a little, a denim to that at this level. Yeah.
[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I'll always enjoy it. Oh, yeah, sure. Sure. Sure.
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to go and have fun and have people over the house for table. Yeah, table. Okay. Come over and play. Nice.
[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, but it's it's getting to the point where my experience can only take me so far.
[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not as willing to put in a ton of time on the table. You know what? I was a state home long for years. You know, when I was young, I mean, you know, so now I'm in a career that I love and love my job. I'm driven that way too. Like I'm just competitive as competitive and work as I was in football.
[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So those things really bring me a lot of joy, you know. And so when it comes to your career and you're working in real estate, correct? Well, I do have a real estate background, but I work for a company that recruits nurses.
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay. That's that's what I do every day is bring Canadian nurses into the US. I help them with getting their licenses and their visas, a lot of legal stuff. I work with immigration attorneys. But I basically help them get from Canada.
[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_01]: That's fantastic. No, what does they're about to do? The finals now. We can hear the sound of the finals.
[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_01]: It's funny every time we hear that that funny beat they're playing for the P.A. system. We know there's another final.
[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_01]: But what I wanted to ask you was maybe we can wait for this to come down a bit, but I wanted to ask you what does what does food ball bring to the table for you when it comes to working?
[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, when you're among professionals, what do you take from food ball to help you with that? Well, I mean, I'm just a naturally driven person and I want to do a good job.
[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm an early riser. I like to start my day off right when I wake up. I want to make my bed.
[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah. I want to have my coffee. I want to have my personal time and I want to go about my day and just be productive and do a good job.
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I don't not sure how to set out who's ball to listen to that, but it's it's just a plan. It's it's it's a little bit of competition. Like I don't want to not do well.
[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's probably. So it's really when you think about it. Okay, the structure of learning to play food ball and becoming a champion and being consistent with your play does require discipline and you take that.
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. To your job in your personal life. And I love what I do. Yeah. I love food ball. I love my job. Yeah. And that shows him what I do and even on the hard days. You know, not every job is perfect. You know, sometimes there's pretty tough days, but I mean, I love what I do.
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I love my coworkers. I love my environment. I love to facilitate relationships. Sure. And to, you know, just do a good job. Just just build relationships. Do a good job. Help people. Help people get from point to point to point to point to.
[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I guess you would say having a purpose. Having a purpose. Yeah. Yes. That's something that. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_01]: We're a head phones or sliding off this.
[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_01]: They look good on you though. Okay. You make anything look good. But no, it's having the purpose in life.
[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Whether it be personal or professional. If you don't have those things. Yeah.
[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And you know, my kids are older. I have three kids Tom two of them are out of the house.
[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. I still have one at home. Yeah. Okay. So there's I still have that. I mean, you just need to parent even when you have adult children. You know, so there's still a lot of purpose there. There's there's no doubt about that. Yes. There's a lot of purpose there. Enjoy being a parent and
[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_02]: a child. A wife and all those things. Homemaker. I mean, I look at home. You know, sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Yeah. Any of your, any of your progeny your kids interested in playing football? No, no, no. Really.
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you think about family room. You know, Kisha and like Terri and the Sullivan. Yeah. The whole get there.
[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, lived on the football tables of family. Yeah. And my kids have played, you know, we would we would bring them when they were little to take the state. We always went to Texas.
[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_02]: They together. They play in the, I mean, but they never really picked that out. They have their own talents. They're left brain, all three of them are left brain. They're all artists. Okay.
[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_02]: My son is his musician. My youngest son is musician and my daughter who's in the middle is a dancer. Wow. That's what she does. I mean, she's in Spain going to school just for dance and there's so talent. That's great.
[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's not this. Yeah. Yeah. I get it. I get it. I just, you know, sometimes I wonder about, you know, especially pro, pro level players with families, you know, you see, well, even, you know, Sam Dejan, who is raised in a football house.
[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_01]: And well, it's good because we always have to have second generation players that maintain the, but she's, you know, when you find a place or a person like yourself who's kids are like, yeah, mom, I don't really care.
[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's okay. Yeah, it is. It's in this fine. Well, I got to say, it's always great to catch up. You know, so we just just hang out and see how you're doing. And I certainly hope it won't be too long before we get a chance to do this again.
[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm happy to come on any time. Yeah. Yeah. Do appreciate that. We are going to be later on featuring Ryan Moore with the same idea with these ball reading on the road back out. Liz.
[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, when he comes back on it. We'll change his title right now. Back to Ryan. But the other thing we're going to be doing tonight is the live show, not a clock.
[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Please talk a live. We'll go and go on as we always do this time of course from the site and we're planning on we're going to carallet Trevor Park.
[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. This sit down and talk. I'll be looking forward to hearing hearing how that conversation goes. Trevor is such a great person. And he still has one of the most downloaded episodes of, of,
[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_01]: really. Yeah. He came on. We used to do this really dumb thing called the mystery guest and we'd have them kind of change their voice.
[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_01]: So you'd only get clues, little clues as to who they might be within the foes ball realm.
[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And we did that. I don't know. Maybe a couple of maybe two, three, maybe four weeks before he said that's not working.
[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_01]: But he was one of the early guests to do that. And he did this really hilarious voice that nobody could figure it out.
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm sure we'll be reminiscing about that. Okay. Now I'm curious and I have to go search that one out.
[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Go through the yard, guys. Yeah. It's, um, how kind of trying to think now it might have been episode 30 or something like that.
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Yeah. I know.
[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_01]: We just, we just crossed over the threshold of 100,000 downloads recently. And I know it just kind of, it makes you think about way, way, way.
[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_02]: How long has it been again? So it'll be six years in October. That's when we're all telling me, Tom. I mean, how do you feel about what you've been doing for the last six years?
[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And, and what do you, I mean, obviously you do this on this side but like, like, it's um,
[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_02]: What do you see this going in future and how did it?
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I would hope it continues, obviously.
[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I would like to hopefully it plays a slightly bigger role in the sense that maybe we can, we can support media and general,
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_01]: because media and sports, oh, Don Wilson is walking by, making faces.
[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Making faces. But no, in the whole seriousness, I would, I would hope that we could be a part of the larger picture
[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Because media, modern foods, inside those is still out there too. There's also ITS out there. They're viewpoint when it comes to media.
[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I hope that we can all kind of collaborate in some way, shape or form.
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I hope so too. I hope so too. Just to make things better for players but also make it more accessible for ordinary fans,
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_01]: people who don't know about Facebook.
[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_02]: So when you and Ryan chat later, okay?
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, you guys be talking about the change in, um, precisely.
[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Yeah, it's, it's that big announcement and we'll, well, I guess we'll hold off on saying anything.
[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I think he wants to reveal it here but yeah, it was pretty significant.
[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a lot of like, oh, yeah.
[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_02]: It is on Facebook so it's not too much.
[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Come on, I'm trying to build your home.
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, sorry.
[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So the, but yeah, Serrine is really a swimming command of the,
[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_01]: so we're, we're excited. I mean, we're very happy for him.
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that there's again, you know, he's a savvy business guy and has been,
[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_01]: and of course, so is his mom. So it's like a, it's a DNA thing for these guys.
[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I certainly hope that the tour looks very similar to what it does now.
[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_01]: We don't want to see too many changes but certainly there's always room for improvement, right?
[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I think, um, changes good and it can be hard sometimes and sometimes it's uncomfortable.
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But overall if it's, if it's for the good.
[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Yep, of course.
[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Just a technical question. Maybe I don't know. This is getting to be something we,
[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_01]: we ask every time.
[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Double elimination,
[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be a championship format. Yep.
[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Which way do you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you.
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm personally and I'm, and I've given it a chance. So this is my second championship format tournament.
[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. So Vegas was the first one.
[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I went to Texas and that was Swiss.
[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Right. And then so here I am this weekend. I really,
[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_02]: really tried to come in with an open mind and it, I'm not a fan of it.
[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And, and I think a lot of that just has to do with the fact that I've been in double elimination
[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_02]: in my whole life. I'm not saying that we can move away from double elimination,
[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_02]: but I don't necessarily think that championship is the answer.
[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_02]: If it is, that's okay. I mean, I'll accept it at some point.
[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_02]: But it is very, very difficult to have the same competitive mindset and drive and actually execution on the table
[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_02]: when you cannot go beyond a certain point.
[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Right. And, and in Vegas, I experienced that in, in open mixed doubles,
[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, going into the business bracket early and that was really hard.
[00:32:13] [SPEAKER_02]: My partner and I both we were struggling to drive.
[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Sure. For any, and we still did very well. We got there. We came back to third.
[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. So good. Good.
[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I accomplished the best I could in my mind. It was so very unsatisfying.
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm really, really difficult. So here this weekend, same thing.
[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Same thing. Okay.
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_02]: It was really hard to get my mind. And that's just me. That's a personal thing.
[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, everybody is a little bit different. But it was very difficult for me personally to drive myself
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_02]: to still be at that.
[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Want to be right. Just want it. Yes.
[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_02]: So for me, I'm not a fan.
[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't mean that I want support. Okay.
[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But you know, I get why double elimination is difficult with term timing.
[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_01]: But I think there's other solutions to that. Oh, sure. I mean, all ITS with this was format as one thing.
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I love limiting how many how many people can play in a particular event.
[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Right. I mean, there's all kinds of things you can do. Sure. Sure.
[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Reduce that very long tournament time. Well, you know, the future is right around the corner where he may see how things shake out here.
[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_01]: You have to experiment sometimes. Right? Got to try stuff. Doesn't work. Fine move on to something else.
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_01]: What do you think about it, Tom? I like it as a fan.
[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Right. Yes. I know when they're going to play.
[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And that is a benefit. I don't take that away. Yeah. That is a benefit.
[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_01]: It's, you know, I don't think I'm ever going to be in a situation or in a level of play where that's going to make a difference for me.
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I know because I'm usually two and out. Although I have to wait, I have to say this weekend,
[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Shoutout to Mark Drowlat who's my partner in amateur doubles. We did make it to the final bracket.
[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Wonderful. Congratulations. Yeah.
[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_01]: There were 92 teams where we're happy with that.
[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_02]: There were a lot of teams. Yeah.
[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_01]: The only problem was for us. We were playing lights out yesterday.
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And we got to the end of the night and we still had more matches to play.
[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_01]: But they had to suspend play. And so when we came back this morning to play our next matches,
[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_01]: there wasn't the same level of fire we had last night.
[00:34:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm not going to say that would have made a difference necessarily, but I kind of feel like it would have.
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_02]: What do you think about the hours of baseball here in the United States?
[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. I mean, it's it's it was late. I mean, we were what after one o'clock in the morning when we played.
[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you think that's professional?
[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Hmm. Well, I'm not.
[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't care. It's all I've ever had.
[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_02]: That's debateable.
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It's Christina Fuchs, open by.
[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_01]: So we are, you know, we are happy for people who win. Of course every time.
[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's like how you get there.
[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Whether it's championship format or double elimination, you still got a work hard to do it.
[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: It's with single elimination. Yeah.
[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. I mean, we were Tardless night.
[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And there were a couple really tight moments where it was down to final ball this kind of thing.
[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what we would love because that's fun, you know, especially if you win.
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I think that gap in between just put out the fire.
[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Hate to say that. What are you going to do?
[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_01]: It could have happened either way. We could have also won too.
[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm just happy to make it to the final bracket at the world.
[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely. Congratulations. That's great. Thank you.
[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, let's do this again soon.
[00:36:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. This is cool. I would say that I'm not going to make it to Florida.
[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_01]: But maybe next year, are you going to the T.K. All by any chance or?
[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't plan on it right now. I actually don't have any plans set in stone for 2025.
[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Gotcha.
[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But there will be some tournaments for me.
[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And when will you know that you'll be whether or not you'll be on the you at Team USA for a run?
[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a great question. When you find out let me know.
[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I know this is supposed to be a qualifying year, right?
[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_02]: So well, you know, we've, yes. So you know qualifying is not really for the team though.
[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_02]: That's for the championship portion of the tournament. So I know the last two years, you know,
[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: is when when the team is put together.
[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_02]: So there's just not a whole lot of information or data out there right now for people to know what's going on.
[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And if it's out there and you know about it, let me know. I'd love to see what's going on. But hopefully,
[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, World Cup 2025 is in June. So it would be nice to know what we're doing.
[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_01]: So we can all work towards getting there and getting there and winning again with net be nice.
[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I would. I think for the women's team that that last second place was pretty tough after the gold that the time before that.
[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But you know, we used to not even qualify. So we've come a way.
[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And now we're there. We're right there. We're forced to be reckoned with and they have to take us seriously. So there you go.
[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, Liz Hillmore, what a pleasure. Absolutely. Pleasure talking to you today. And of course, hanging out at the 2024 tornado championship.
[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_01]: But hey, best of luck at anything more happening this weekend or you just.
[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm done for the weekend. So I'm going to hopefully get a good meal in and watch some some food ball with left and spend time with people. And thank you so much for having me.
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And what's up with you? My pleasure. I'll enjoy it. Yeah, yeah.
[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_01]: You're a natural, you know, yeah, yeah. You should have been a news anchor for good.
[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I should have.
[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_02]: That's not as fun as football. Right. I got you.
[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, once again, Liz Hillmore joining us on football radio on the road.
[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. We will hopefully be hearing from Liz again very, very soon. We can always do it remotely too.
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_01]: We can bring it back on the on the the main live show.
[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_01]: But later on this evening, tune in non-aclock that's Eastern time at a clock central with boost.
[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll be here and hopefully Trevor Trevor Park will be doing this too.
[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be looking forward to hearing that. Awesome. Thanks again, Liz and and thanks for tuning in to
