[00:02:11] episode number 202. Welcome, I'm Tom, happy Easter. Looking forward to tonight's episode

[00:02:19] we've got a promoter spotlight headed our way tonight with a very special guest. But

[00:02:24] before we get to that of course we need to, we're going to talk about Foosball so you know

[00:02:28] what it's always good when you can invite a friend over who wants to talk about Foosball

[00:02:32] and would be Randy Raposo from the great state of Alabama. Hello Randy.

[00:02:36] Hi Tom, how was your Easter? Not bad. It was it was eventful. Let's put it that way.

[00:02:44] Yeah I was recuperating recuperating from from a smash down from yesterday. So how

[00:02:51] did you win? You guys win? We did. We did. Yeah. Yeah Tommy, your was there was kind

[00:02:58] of like a, I guess you'd say a foregone conclusion. Well, I'm just assuming your back

[00:03:03] hurt some carrying him. But that's cool. There's that yes there is that it was it was a

[00:03:10] lighter turn out than we wanted but it was still a lot of fun and we had we had some

[00:03:15] some guys from New York City some people from from Canada we had you know some players

[00:03:20] some really good players came into town Kevin Westcott says says hi by the way. Yeah I love

[00:03:24] Kevin. Yeah yeah. Yeah. But anytime you get to play Foosball is a good time so that's

[00:03:29] great. Yeah, no it was well worth it and you know love kicking off kicking off the spring

[00:03:35] with something like that but yeah yeah we're looking forward to our next outing looks like

[00:03:41] June the eighth I believe is going to be our next smash down so nice we'll keep you posted

[00:03:46] on that but anyway so how's your Easter so far? It's good man just you know got up one

[00:03:54] at the church I have to play the drums this morning. It's a play the drums now hold on hold

[00:03:58] on. Yeah, yeah I played I played the drum and playing the drums for like 15 almost 20

[00:04:03] years so interesting. Now I can see the guitar over your over your shoulder but that had

[00:04:08] no idea. Yeah it's my wife's and then the keyboards right here. Should my wife plays a piano

[00:04:12] beautifully. Wow. Wow. Yeah she's professionally trained my wife's really good. Nice. So she

[00:04:17] plays the keys and she sings I play the drums and then and I'm going to tell you what

[00:04:21] it really helps with like hand speed and there you go. There you go. So it transitions

[00:04:27] well to foosball. So growing up I always wanted to play the drums and my dad you know

[00:04:33] you're not going to make that noise in my house so as soon as I moved out as an adult

[00:04:40] first thing I did was I brought a I bought a drum set and I started to take a lesson so

[00:04:44] I love playing the drums. I love drummers. This is kind of like sort of like this to

[00:04:49] my dad. Hey I played the drums. I'm playing the drums. Put down three fingers Tom.

[00:04:54] So no but it's just you know it's like it was one of those things I realized when I like

[00:05:01] you know when I became an adult I was like I can do whatever I want right so I just I

[00:05:06] always want to play the drum. I love making noise and I like banging on things so I started

[00:05:11] playing the drums so I actually I used to have an electric set in the corner where the

[00:05:15] guitar is and I bought an acoustic set over Christmas. I bought some Evan's soft play

[00:05:20] heads because my neighbor like four houses down said she could hear me. She could hear

[00:05:23] you. And yeah yeah yeah yeah so I don't want to I don't want to frustrate the neighbors too

[00:05:28] much. I don't want to set them but now it was a good day went to Grand Prance House, ate

[00:05:32] some steaks. Her grandma my wife's grandmother called and she said what's your favorite

[00:05:38] vegetable? I said steak is my favorite vegetable. So we had some steaks and then came home and

[00:05:44] I took a nap with the dog and just a lot of running around and my wife's got to get back

[00:05:50] to work this week she was on spring break so just busy stuff you know. Just live in time.

[00:05:53] Yeah yeah no he's living the life. Live in the life. That's it. Yeah, it's it but now

[00:05:57] you know we we get to talk about foods well. Yes we do and it stinks for Easter. I mean I

[00:06:02] I could host man that's that's awesome yeah. I mean I could eat yeah I could eat steak every day.

[00:06:07] Yeah yeah no no we used to get stuck with the Virginia ham every year and I went to

[00:06:11] yeah I think that didn't didn't dig that at all but yeah yeah absolutely yeah well hey you know

[00:06:19] since there is a big tournament happening next weekend in Ottawa and of course

[00:06:25] Ottawa and Terrio of course is the home of the hall of fame for this this particular event

[00:06:34] and we're looking forward to it but first of all we're going to be chatting with the promoter of

[00:06:39] course this is a promoter spotlight so we want to welcome to the foods talk live microphone

[00:06:47] for the very first time Mario Poliazzi I've been practicing that all day by the way Mario.

    [00:06:53] Poliazzi. You're last name.

[00:06:56] Can you hear me? Yes we can hear you.

[00:06:58] Hey great awesome yeah poliazzi.

[00:07:00] Oh poliazzi okay I got you.

[00:07:02] Hold on before we go any further I need to ask you a question I have family all over Canada

[00:07:06] I have family my cousin Frank actually works for the Canadian government in Ottawa and I have

[00:07:10] family in Toronto Mississauga in London but are you a Leafs fan or are you a SENS fan?

[00:07:18] We had we had your phone we had you up there on the screen for a second there too.

[00:07:23] Yeah I don't know what's happening to the bar crown there well I mean I'm a SENS fan I'm

[00:07:27] born and raised in Ottawa so you know for all goods.

[00:07:30] So how did you feel when when could Chuck went to Florida?

[00:07:36] Wait no that was in Calgary that's the other brother I'm sorry see I only watch playoff hockey and

[00:07:40] I'm a Leafs fan I've been a Leafs fan my whole life so I don't care about the senators sorry buddy.

[00:07:46] No worries I get that probably on a weekly basis so we finally want to playoff round last year

[00:07:51] so it was it was we were at the masters when they were playing Tampa and they won and I started

[00:07:58] freaking out and I thought I was going to get beat up there because it was a bunch of lightning

[00:08:02] fans watching the game when when Tavaris scored the goal and man I lost my my call my dad I thought

[00:08:10] my dad was gonna start crying and then they got to smash in the next round so anyway it's not yeah

[00:08:15] sorry so but I know one thing for sure is you guys have a tremendous scene in Canada so yeah

[00:08:23] what do you got going on? Yeah so I mean we're you know we're we're at tournaments all over the

[00:08:29] place and Quebec is great they must have played the Vaanzini but sometimes they play the Lionheart

[00:08:35] as well as the tornado and you know we have our our local scene here in Ottawa they're pretty big

[00:08:41] I want to say and they probably getting bigger every year we have you know we host the annual Canadian

[00:08:48] Booswell Hall of Fame tournament and we're having one next weekend and it's going pretty well

[00:08:53] and I feel like it's usually a good turnout because we're kind of in the middle of Quebec in Toronto

[00:08:59] yes you know a lot of players might not go to Montreal or three rivers or somewhere some of the

[00:09:03] terms in Quebec and vice versa where a lot of those players might not go to Toronto but because

[00:09:09] we're kind of in the middle they kind of both come to us and it's good to see that like try fact

[00:09:15] battle happening you know the central location so how many years have you guys been doing this

[00:09:19] Hall of Fame like how many years has the Hall of Fame been running for you guys? So we started going

[00:09:23] fall like for like this is I think our second annual where we started like we're fully new it but

[00:09:29] you know like we're trying to convert it into like a Canadian tournament where we can do our own

[00:09:32] tour and stuff like that yeah so for us starting this for the Hall of Fame we're starting to recognize

[00:09:39] all the you know obviously Canadian players that put in their two cents and they're kind to help us

[00:09:44] grow all over the place so you know it's it's going really well last year I believe we had like

[00:09:50] 66 unique players and this year will be cool and that we have some some players from New York coming

[00:09:55] as well so nice you know yeah so we try and do it where it's not kind of like I said interfering

[00:10:00] with a lot of like Vegas which is super close as well you know trying to find those sweet spots

[00:10:06] for all the tournaments across Canada you know so no that's that's awesome because I feel

[00:10:11] well this year in particular I know Mary like before in the New Year hit she already had like 14

[00:10:16] tournaments on her schedule and and I've talked to a few people and I think something that I think

[00:10:23] needs to be just kind of created implicated is like a national promoter calendar yeah where they

[00:10:32] can agree you know and everybody can plug their stuff you know and we can we can keep the conflicts

[00:10:38] down but one question I have for you I know again now it's 2024 where were several years

[00:10:45] removed from COVID are there any restrictions for anyone that's wanting to go to Canada to support

[00:10:50] your event are there any restrictions for anybody from the states trying to go up oh um you know

[00:10:55] it seems it used to be like kind of hiccups going the other way but you know like you guys could come

[00:11:00] here no problem can it take anything anybody anywhere like come on so yeah they're happy to get

[00:11:07] there and to have the sport grow and everything so you guys are the definitely the reason I would be

[00:11:12] updating my passport which just expired year before last so hey yeah yeah there you go he's

[00:11:21] ready to fly he's ready to go no it's gotta get updated but no I I need to take my wife's from

[00:11:29] Alabama she's never been to Canada and I keep threatening to take her up there but a foosball

[00:11:34] tournament's a great reason so oh yeah so like you were saying you you guys play bonzini you play

[00:11:38] Leo and you play tornado um what what's prominent or are they pretty equally spread out throughout

[00:11:45] the region um well the majority of places uh it's definitely tornado is like a the forefront

[00:11:52] of the tables but uh we have a lot of bonzini action happening as well just to try and care

[00:11:57] to like the five world tables you know um but those are three that we really touch based on we used

[00:12:02] used to be involved in the devil a little bit uh we saw the fireball table which is super fun as well

[00:12:08] we had that conversation yesterday we were talking about the fireball and what happened to it

[00:12:12] yeah it was fantastic you know I felt like it was it was a little closer to a tornado I feel

[00:12:18] than like a lean heart but a lean heart is a pretty close second I guess but uh

[00:12:22] you know on that color of blue I feel it's just easy on the eyes you know true yeah yeah yeah

[00:12:27] we ran a tournament Massachusetts on fireball we ran a mass state on it and that I thought the

[00:12:32] table was great yeah like solid and the walls like were great uh if just a good table I wish

[00:12:38] it had gotten a little bit more love than than it had gotten but is it still being produced that's

[00:12:43] the question nobody seemed to be able to answer whether it's still being manufactured I don't know

[00:12:48] yeah maybe I mean I don't know of any recent purchases that we still have one from a local player

[00:12:54] kind of floating around okay um you know but uh yeah we used to have one you know uh where we play at

[00:13:00] tailgators in Ottawa but yeah that was years ago even before coded we got rid of it I'd probably say

[00:13:07] seven or eight years ago maybe um you know but it was a good table I had a good time with it yeah

[00:13:12] so your hall your hall of fame event it's gonna be on tornado or is there gonna be a multi-table event

[00:13:17] well yeah so it'd be mostly uh we're gonna have probably uh it's gonna be mostly tornado

[00:13:22] absolutely and then we'll have a doubles event for leaners as well I saw that on the flyer yeah

[00:13:28] doubles on the leaner that's cool that's a great idea yeah it's good to switch up just to kind of

[00:13:33] keep you warm up or whatever the case you don't just have something a little different and this

[00:13:37] way you can kind of try and do stuff you wouldn't normally try if you didn't feel confident on the

[00:13:42] you know in your tournament the uh in your turn replay you know so yeah yeah so could you tell us

[00:13:49] just like a little bit about um you know I know you have a tournament coming up but just kind of

[00:13:54] about your local scene maybe how many nights a week you guys play how many teams are running in your

[00:13:59] draws or uh you know what what do you guys what do you guys got going on yeah so uh so Ottawa I mean we

[00:14:06] kind of started we just had our 30 years probably last year um yeah so we're going strong uh we

[00:14:13] started like you know 94 sure on there 93 ish and for about a year and a half but there wasn't

[00:14:21] really a league going on and then you know and some of the guys started they just kind of started

[00:14:26] like a league at like local different places that'll hold the individual tournaments this way

[00:14:30] it's just kind of easier and they would just have you know one week would be here another week

[00:14:34] could be there just kind of cater to everybody living all over the place and uh just for change

[00:14:39] your scene too because there was multiple places it's good exposure at these individual places

[00:14:44] um yeah and then they just started and then a league developed um and then the league first started

[00:14:49] in one of our senior founding members uh his name is jid actually and he was a uh i consider him

[00:14:57] a mentor because I do a similar shot that uh that I learned from him and not many people do it

[00:15:02] if you guys are familiar with the like a sweet shot um sweet shot yeah see I've done it a few times

[00:15:08] like he's like like like kind of like a back pin and yeah yeah i got you yeah see you're

[00:15:13] frustrated you're using bank shots with just explosive power from a standstill point you know

[00:15:18] yeah um yeah so i've been doing all kinds of fun angles from there and it seems to be

[00:15:22] every time when i used to you know the problem rafting to the states you always catch somebody

[00:15:27] after you play them they're like man teach me that shot yeah i see in it i want to learn it

[00:15:31] yo and then i'll say well you know what come see me at the end of the tournament and i'll teach you both

[00:15:38] so your league was your league um was it like vifa based remember the old valley dynamo leagues was

[00:15:45] it vifa based it was yeah we used to that was our game sheet we had and then we kind of made our own

[00:15:50] sheet eventually uh when we found the when we finally got a local spot where we could you know

[00:15:55] put some tables in there and have a more than one table and go from there um yeah and then we started

[00:16:01] into like a place called all over is that it was our local one of our local universities

[00:16:06] there was some good exposure there and then from there we're kind of in a few places for a

[00:16:11] couple years after that and we kept hopping in a couple different places until we were finally able

[00:16:15] to plant seeds uh where we are now which is used to be called uh less scratch back in the day and

[00:16:21] we were there for a good little while and then it shut down and then it was like okay we're

[00:16:26] scrounding to find a place to go and then we you know it was temporarily and then the location where

[00:16:30] we are now opened in 2007 and we've been there ever since and it's just a fantastic venue it's uh

[00:16:36] yeah it's really good it's 14,000 square feet this place it's pool tables uh it's it's just

[00:16:41] 4,000 square feet nice yeah that's that's good size great how many tables how many tables you guys have

[00:16:46] in there so right now just for the league play we have uh seven seven and we just yeah that's great

[00:16:52] yeah that's pretty good so and we have a lean harder bansini as well and the bansini we just got

[00:16:58] recently to you know this way we can kind of uh practice to get new players going so when we do

[00:17:03] the equipment tournaments we we can we can battle you know so it's really great so I feel like

[00:17:10] you know American Fuzball uh i'm just i'm gonna be completely honest with you like you know

[00:17:15] I have a group of friends that I keep in touch with back in Massachusetts Fuzball buddies that I

[00:17:20] love and we are constantly referencing referencing Canadian Fuzball because the dynamics Canadian

[00:17:28] food like you guys when you come to America to play you guys are always competitive you're always

[00:17:32] tough very and we feel like we feel like you have a culture of Fuzball that's constantly nurturing

[00:17:38] cultivating and growing yeah good tournament players so you know if if you could just kind of maybe talk

[00:17:47] like what are you guys doing man are you playing something in the water like what

[00:17:50] like what are you doing what is it so there's lots of culture in Canada right to like Toronto

[00:17:57] Montreal you know like I myself from part Italian so growing up I grew up with some Italian tables so

[00:18:03] as always Fuzball Fuzball Fuzball you know like you know Italian rules don't stop it is boring

[00:18:08] gotta go fast gotta go fast gonna wait and then when I started getting into the tornado it was great

[00:18:13] because I was able to slow it down and do things but for me I was going to go fast fast fast you

[00:18:17] know so like I tend to be able to kind of you know like target the ball a little bit and maybe

[00:18:23] I can catch you on a on a stuff here or there like you know more frequently just because of speed

[00:18:30] and the reaction time right so but yeah so we have like just a lot of good variety of players

[00:18:36] and like I said it is we have you know other people coming in from other parts of the world

[00:18:40] and stuff so like you know we try to adopt them in their plays we have some really good local

[00:18:44] players and you know Toronto has a fantastic player base as well and there's some high level skills

[00:18:50] there so and you know yeah well trained we play with these guys often and you know and it's just

[00:18:56] it's always that was a good time so you know it's yeah there's just lots of you know skills and

[00:19:02] that's the thing about Fuzball like there's so much to master like you have to pick a road

[00:19:06] because there's so many roads you know like you just yeah so it's a lot of fun that's good so well

[00:19:12] and I think one thing that makes a huge difference too is the multi-table play I try to

[00:19:16] I try to tell people all the time like you know American players and again I'm an American player

[00:19:21] and I love Fuzball but it's like we play you know where we're so like we have blinders on when

[00:19:28] it comes to Fuzball because we're so tornado oriented but if if if you can stretch yourself

[00:19:33] and start touching other tables your game on tornado will improve you know it makes I feel like

[00:19:38] it just makes such a difference and then and in Toronto they have they have like a training center

[00:19:44] correct the shop yeah so they have like they're like they're like a private club that they go to

[00:19:50] so yes yeah so it's very good and it's open 24 hours a day because it's probably

[00:19:55] everybody has their own fog you know you can go in it you should be yeah I live there yeah

[00:20:01] as paradise no it's really good and they have multiple tables there and it's just you know it's

    [00:20:08] because we're like I said we're very the multi-table is definitely a thing and because we're

[00:20:13] very tornado based when we you know when we switch to McGuire-Labonzini once you absorb all that

[00:20:19] like frustration and get by all that then you start learning the ball control and that transfers

[00:20:23] to the tornado and then the level just starts increasing from there if you can catch those balls on

[00:20:29] Bonsini catching those balls on tornadoes like yeah so as far as the hall the famous concerned

[00:20:40] I don't know if you can I mean I know it's like a week away but can you tell us about maybe who's

[00:20:47] been put in who's going to be put in and what it took to get that off the ground

[00:20:52] yeah so I mean there's you know it's it's not just the work from Ottawa it's kind of coordinated

[00:21:01] through all the different clubs across Canada and pretty much like every club you know we taking

[00:21:08] consideration locals would vote and then they kind of come together to decide who the top three

[00:21:14] are per year right so that's usually what we're doing for now is three a year because there's plenty

[00:21:19] of to be recognized you've been around for yeah come along so but yeah so last year we had

[00:21:27] we had three players that were inducted and they came together with our ceremony and this year

[00:21:32] will be a little more you know more bats and little flawless for the ceremonies and stuff

[00:21:37] that we're doing cool yeah so we have the three we inducted for this year which is fantastic is

[00:21:44] long overdue is a is a local of ours who's actually our who's well I guess the only can call him

[00:21:51] right now for our club and it's Chris Thomas and he's been kind of juggling the league since you know

[00:21:57] like 98 I think he took over and yeah and and it's mostly been on his shoulders and he's been doing

[00:22:03] a fantastic job you know whether and you know he's got some engineering engineers belts so if we

[00:22:10] need you know like lights made or something like that he can kind of just get them done and then

[00:22:15] we have what we need to make sure everybody's happy you know so but yeah he's fantastic he's

[00:22:20] doing really well and then we have Mitch Chang from Vancouver who's been inducted as well I've never

[00:22:27] I myself recently I've never played with myself but I heard really good things about him which is

[00:22:32] he's pretty involved which is why he's being inducted and then we have another gentleman from

[00:22:36] Quebec Laurent actually and he's well known he was on team Canada and he's very heavy into the

[00:22:43] body he's seen and and Tony as well so looking forward to having them come out and you know seeing

[00:22:49] them achieve something they definitely deserve is there a is there an age limit for Raffer inductees

[00:22:55] I mean do they have to to be in the sport for X number of years before they get considered or

[00:23:01] Raffer? Well that kind of falls into place because no in one sense but we usually do it based on

[00:23:08] kind of like involvement or generation or you know like who who like hence the voting and it's

[00:23:14] like really who really deserves it you know and it wasn't an easy pick by any means for these three

[00:23:19] because the list is never ending but it's like who can we prioritize to kind of put this together

[00:23:25] you know so but that's definitely easy all done like voted by you know each locally committee and they

[00:23:31] kind of come together and figure that out yeah so that's it so and it's all kind of this term

[00:23:36] it here it's it's it's probably been been growing and it's being overwatched by Canada Fools Ball

[00:23:42] so they have a shop and everything too so they're they're kind of like a good sponsor for us as well

[00:23:47] we're having us with parts and all kinds of stuff that the offer so yeah every year it seems to be

[00:23:52] growing and you know our stream is just getting better and better and more and more

[00:23:55] and more live streaming now so we're we're imitating you guys with a stream by the way for uh

[00:24:02] far away you know that's no there's no boring you guys you guys adopted as your own you know

[00:24:07] because I remember before you guys started um you know I've been there a few times

[00:24:11] to Albany and it's like where's the stream you know so but I was happy to help out yeah

[00:24:16] we get it going and it gave you guys the bug and now we get to enjoy you know so

[00:24:22] yeah we we uh we tried to stream the smashdown or most of it yesterday I think there are a

[00:24:25] couple little hiccups along the way but yeah I mean table one was on most of the time from what

[00:24:30] I understand and uh uh shout out to Dave Hetzler by the way he's our local tech guy everybody's

[00:24:35] got a tech guy and he's uh he's really putting a lot of extra effort and time and bringing one

[00:24:40] of his own computers to uh to make it happen so uh Hetzler off the day and that's what was

[00:24:46] about these man we need volunteers people put you know it doesn't happen without the players so

[00:24:51] you know thanks Dave yeah uh so who uh who went in last year who were your inductees for last year

[00:24:58] so we had uh peer tealans and uh as uh i guess his wife uh moina uh oh moia moia wasn't

[00:25:07] that's so he's a little jealous she was uh one of your first inductees uh yeah she was a top

[00:25:13] three and then we also had our local uh who's now a Vancouver but our founder Eric Dunn has

[00:25:20] all yeah yeah well Eric Eric Dunn you know uh when I started playing he was a master

[00:25:28] and uh he he was a guy that if I remember correctly had he you know he was a bad matchup for Fred

[00:25:36] so uh but he had he had always had good results uh really just good really good tough player

[00:25:43] and then moia of course uh i mean you know it's it's it's it's unfortunate what it happened to

[00:25:49] moia but she was sir i mean she was great great five great both uh just a really tough competitor

[00:25:55] so those those are those are some great joy i mean you know i i feel like hall of fames are um

[00:26:00] um i think they're just vital right i think players like like like what you're doing at you know

[00:26:07] at the at the local level giving credit to people that maybe uh you know

[00:26:15] wouldn't get credit otherwise or maybe they well i don't i don't know what goes on in out of

[00:26:18] where and your local scene but i know like here there are there are players that do so much behind

[00:26:23] the scenes that should be recognized i i feel like every state or region should have a hall of

[00:26:29] i think i think i think i think they're vital for football yeah every every foosball player wants to

[00:26:34] get a pat on the back yeah and and you know like and that's the thing like you said like there's a lot

[00:26:40] of background stuff that happens you know it's like it could be the simplest things from you know

[00:26:44] somebody getting medals or you know organizing uh whatever it is right like every little bit

[00:26:49] that helps is is all very much uh require for success in you know good tournaments and good

[00:26:55] experience which bring you back again so absolutely absolutely like i'm sure you have

[00:27:01] i'm sure you have people that do set up and tear down yeah i'm sure you have i'm sure you have tech

[00:27:06] people yeah you know uh and and like even somebody that just refs matches right it's like the

[00:27:15] the the thankless stuff that makes a tournament run well the person that's taking the money and doing

[00:27:20] you know adding people's names and running the charts it's like you know i i say it all the time

[00:27:25] and and it's it's for us like foosball players as a whole we're just you know we're we're just selfish

[00:27:32] right we just want to go play foosball we expect everything that just we wanted to just run good and

[00:27:36] we want to play but it's like man sometimes you just got to stop and look around and just

[00:27:40] you know hey thank you these tables didn't set themselves up right so you know and the people that are

[00:27:45] putting their time in and and sometimes even money out of their pockets to make it happen uh you

[00:27:51] know just hey thank you thank you for for doing this hall of fame this is this is pretty awesome

[00:27:56] and i wish i could come support it but uh i am excited for your event and i hope everybody up there

[00:28:01] is excited as well so uh yeah yeah i look if you want to send me uh leon heart or a bonzini to my

[00:28:08] house psychopractical he's always he's got to see i knew there was an angle here he was angling you

[00:28:15] for the he's just hanging we've got a kind of maneuver

    [00:28:20] he's just he's rink a little sugar on

[00:28:25] he's got away he's got away uh so so you got neat you got neat like you got any plants that come

[00:28:31] down are you coming down for Vegas uh well yeah uh so we have a a bunch of local uh players that

[00:28:36] are going i think there's about six so just from uh auto alone that are pending so um yeah so

[00:28:42] that'll be good we have our fuel because you guys know like uh and uh uh yeah you know yeah

[00:28:47] oh talk talk talk just as good and Wisconsin right he just had a good tournament

[00:28:51] with Wisconsin yeah he did well i think for years yeah yeah he's been around in a good

[00:28:56] friend of mine as well and he's a good uh he's definitely uh helping us out and uh he's uh

[00:29:01] been appointed to tv for the for the tournament so that it helps make things run smoothly and

[00:29:05] and like you said there's multiple guys uh doing several different things because you know

[00:29:10] we're all foosball players and we want to play but at the same time you know you got to

[00:29:14] juggle both so uh in the event that if we have to go play there's somebody to pick up the slack

[00:29:18] so that you know nothing is kind of getting uh left behind yeah yeah that's awesome that's a

[00:29:23] that's a question i always want to ask for promoters because your player as well what uh

[00:29:29] what is it like when you're promoting a uh a big tournament like this and playing at the same

[00:29:33] time does it affect your game at all um yeah it's going to do it at some level right because

[00:29:39] your your game doesn't have your your your entire focus right and it's taking away some of your

[00:29:44] energy that you need to maybe redistribute into the game but you know we try and do what we can

[00:29:50] and uh you know just being there itself is so beneficial it just makes you feel great and the fact

[00:29:55] that you have people there that are having a good time and uh you know all that stuff and it's

[00:29:59] just a great experience and you know you might see somebody you haven't seen in a while and that

[00:30:03] gives you an extra boost you know whatever else um but uh yeah that's cool and and um either right now

[00:30:10] too we've had like uh what do we have like seven or eight now i think we've had like the most women

[00:30:15] who just joined our league we have a string league that starts Wednesday actually and uh like we're

[00:30:20] record numbers for uh women attending consistently so oh that should bring more players in general

[00:30:25] because if it yeah it's no secret that when when women show up for an event that's the guys

[00:30:31] arm far behind yeah well yeah you know and they can dish out just as well you know so um

[00:30:38] uh yeah it's super fun to have that element as well and like you said marries with us and she's a

[00:30:44] fantastic goalie and you know everybody's always honored to play with her and she's just doing well

[00:30:48] as well uh and she's a recent uh local uh induction into the auto foosball hall of fame cool

[00:30:54] right that's uh yeah and he's actually our first woman to uh be nominated for the local hall of fame

[00:31:00] so that's awesome nice yeah so yeah yeah yeah we're we're always trying to figure out how to

[00:31:08] you know make our local it's like it's like the same it's the same people showing up every week

[00:31:14] complaining and and smack each other around it's like how do we how do we get more people to come

[00:31:20] you know and then when you tell them like hey let's try this well i don't want to do that well

[00:31:25] shut up right like you know sometimes you've got to stretch yourselves a little bit but you know

[00:31:30] you i mean like i've said for years i've seen Canadian foosball grow there was

[00:31:34] there John Batista is a guy who used to run foosball in my area in southeastern massachusetts and he

[00:31:39] had a cousin frank from Ottawa and i forgive me because i don't remember frank's last name but frank

[00:31:45] would come down and play all the time and he was an avid player in Ottawa and he would tell us about

[00:31:50] the scene and it it was like he'd been playing since the mid 90s and i started playing right in

[00:31:56] like 2001 2002 and he was telling us about how the scene had been growing even in the early 2000 so

[00:32:04] you know for for now where it's 2024 and you're talking about how you know you've been in the same

[00:32:09] locations 2007 and you guys have multiple active hall of fame you got a huge tournament coming up

[00:32:15] and again you're sending you're sending players to the states and you're taking our money constantly

[00:32:19] so um you know i mean that that just that that that speaks volumes about Canadian foosball

    [00:32:24] yeah

[00:32:26] graduation man you guys were doing a great job

[00:32:28] yeah i love that american dollar you know it helps uh stretch things a little

    [00:32:32] uh uh uh uh

[00:32:33] yeah we benefit you guys too because it makes your your you know your trip and everything a little

    [00:32:37] cheaper so no doubt

[00:32:39] so we should probably yeah we should probably take some time to find out about you personally

[00:32:43] because again you know this is the promoter's spotlight but still you know you as a foosball

[00:32:48] player started someplace so but customarily we always ask the question um when was the first

[00:32:54] First time you saw a foosball table, how old were you and what kind of table was it?

    [00:33:00] Myself personally.

[00:33:02] So my aunties babysit me and so my cousin used to have a foosball table.

    [00:33:07] They're Italian roots.

[00:33:11] So they had a table and it was just the natural instinct to have one.

[00:33:14] Because after school you go home and being babysit after a couple hours I always played

[00:33:18] with my cousin when I was in school.

[00:33:20] They couldn't go outside and play whatever.

[00:33:23] So I started all that and it was just like I guess back in the day instead of it being

[00:33:27] a Costco it would have been like a ice club table and some of you back in the day.

[00:33:31] But it was European like and I had one goalie with the Rams and it was just that small fast

[00:33:36] ball and that kind of started to be from there.

[00:33:39] And then as I grew older and in my high school years I started going out to local bars

    [00:33:45] and stuff like that.

[00:33:46] They had like tornadoes there as a commercial table.

    [00:33:49] Oh tornadoes, okay.

[00:33:50] And that was my experience so I started doubling on there and because I already had the

[00:33:54] fastball me and my cousins would play people and seemingly maybe a little bit faster.

[00:33:59] Obviously nowhere near the skill level that a lot of players that we have today but

[00:34:03] with just a little more experience and speed and pop up up up up.

    [00:34:08] So yeah.

[00:34:09] So then we just adopted tornado and then we started joining the league in early 2000s and

[00:34:14] you know stuff like that and it was a lot of fun.

[00:34:17] And you know it was one day a week, midday the week you had a bad day or something bad

[00:34:22] week you just go there and it's just a complete reset.

    [00:34:24] Yep no doubt.

[00:34:25] There's a fried is a piece of cake and I feel like anybody who's a diet foods ball player

[00:34:30] these foods ball it's therapy and it's just macular.

    [00:34:33] It's amazing.

    [00:34:34] You know so.

[00:34:35] When was the first time you actually went to a major tournament and how did you do with

    [00:34:39] that first first try?

[00:34:42] Actually so I want to say it was probably 2011 2012 maybe I actually went to Albany.

    [00:34:50] Oh you did?

    [00:34:52] Okay.

[00:34:53] As my first one I went with Taha and our other local player Chris Adam and Tiddy's.

[00:34:58] Yeah so he's another great player so I played with him and I can't remember who Taha

[00:35:03] played with but the event I was in Chris really helped get me far and I think we ended up

[00:35:10] coming second in that event.

[00:35:12] I'm not sure how big it was but we had to play whoever would be hosting it at the

[00:35:16] time and I can't remember who the other he had a female partner.

[00:35:20] I think it was quite a bit of Canadian I can't remember who it was but wasn't the amateur

    [00:35:26] event?

[00:35:27] I want to say it probably would have been okay.

[00:35:32] I was coming up from below because I would have played in whatever Chris's you know

[00:35:37] that was the rank wise at the time but we're going 12-13 years but I just remember when

[00:35:41] I did that I was like oh my god that was the bug you know and it was just a lot of fun

[00:35:46] to see all the players and it's just so much fun traveling to somewhere you've never

[00:35:50] been before because you can recreate your image you know like they don't know what you

[00:35:53] do they don't know what you play there is fear as you it's kind of you know the both

[00:35:59] directions really as you are them so yeah so and for me my experience kind of adopting

[00:36:06] a squeech shot which doesn't work as well with locals because they see it often but you

[00:36:12] know if you see it with a stranger you just freeze up because you don't know what you're

[00:36:15] covering long short bank whatever it is right so yeah that was my experience and it

[00:36:21] was fantastic there was you know and it was my first traveling experience and then from

[00:36:26] there like I said in 2014 I went to the Baltimore and that was the biggest one and it was

[00:36:33] just fantastic so it was really good yeah no is Canada have a rating system like points like

[00:36:41] like we do here with the the IFP yeah so for some or we're adopting kind of like a point system

[00:36:49] ourselves I think we're going to probably based it on nothing's official yet but I think we're headed

[00:36:53] in the direction of using the Crayol system now things change from there like everything all

[00:36:59] the fine details are being worked out right now but for some of our tournaments and stuff for

[00:37:03] locals we kind of use like maybe ranks on house of tournaments or you know we might use the you know

[00:37:10] IFP ranking systems to kind of balance players and just kind of go from there you know but usually

[00:37:16] locals are maybe a little bit more stronger than you would be anywhere else just because you're

[00:37:20] familiar with the scene and people you know things stuff like that so these are all kind of little

[00:37:24] factors that come in the play but yeah we're you know once everything goes in the tune when we

[00:37:29] eventually do Canadian foosball tour then we'll have this system in place everything will be set in

[00:37:34] all the way so you still kind of kind of build that as it stands now yeah yeah there's and then

[00:37:40] like I said it's you know just come at all the little details and stuff the all the kinks are

[00:37:45] sorted out and then everything just comes out and then everything gets launched and then there you go

[00:37:50] you know so um but yeah so things are still kind of being played with around right now just to kind

[00:37:55] of get everything you know as fast as possible but obviously the main thing is just flawless no errors

[00:38:03] everything's you know accurate accurate rating systems of course yeah so yeah and it's it's

[00:38:11] you know that's I feel like that's always been an issue with foosball is trying to rate people

[00:38:18] correctly you know yeah I think this is just my opinion nothing else right but I feel like

[00:38:29] less is more where they you know and again I'm I'm just a player I don't run anything but the

[00:38:36] people in charge and I have the utmost respect for the people in charge because they have skin

[00:38:42] in the game but they think I guess they feel like the more ranks the better when I feel like

[00:38:49] the less ranks would be better you know but you know it's just my opinion yeah I mean that's

[00:38:56] just my opinion I just I feel like the way players are rated now it's just uh I don't know

[00:39:02] it's weird it's just weird I just don't understand you know and and like the elosist in the house

[00:39:08] of tournaments uses I mean it's like tennis and table tennis I feel like it's very accurate right yeah

[00:39:13] and and it probably needs a cycle through on uh you know like a 365 day rotation

[00:39:20] that's one off good tournament strap-off but um you know the fact that you guys have the flexibility

[00:39:27] to put together your own thing and do it the way you want I mean that's that's that's really good

[00:39:32] uh you know I bet it's great but learn from our mistakes yeah

[00:39:38] but as far as like the Canadian tour like do you guys have like an ETA is went like what year

[00:39:44] are you guys planning to push that how many stops do you have like city plans you know is it like

[00:39:48] can you get into detail on that yeah of course um yeah so like eventually when things go you

[00:39:54] know like we're I think we're trying to start off with maybe a six-term it's a year type of thing

[00:39:59] maybe two months to the thing here's just some thoughts there in the works that are happening but

[00:40:04] and we have stops like you know uh Edmonton Vancouver uh Ottawa Toronto and we have Quebec as well

[00:40:10] Montreal and uh you know it's just uh there's a lot of kind of like obviously an auto as well but

[00:40:16] you know it's just then you're kind of like some main stops and it'd be nice to have one every month

[00:40:19] at a different place you know but these are once we get the you know the fundamentals going

[00:40:24] then we can always add in tweak and as we go right so um but you know a lot of people like to

[00:40:30] go to the American tournaments as well so you know we always gotta gotta leave room for

[00:40:35] there until you guys start coming over here you know so yeah it works from the old with the

[00:40:38] passport office to get you guys here a little easier yeah yeah yeah when we when we come up through

[00:40:44] the border I always wear my leaves jersey when I drive up so that way they just let me write in

[00:40:49] no problem no problem yeah so what year are you guys like what's the you know projected year you

[00:40:57] guys are probably gonna try to get the thing off the ground well we're already hoping to kind of maybe

[00:41:02] have it off the ground too uh I can't speak for uh for the you know the head of the guys that are

[00:41:08] who are actually diving in face first to do everything but you know we can say that obviously

[00:41:12] COVID kind of delayed things a little bit but you know maybe it delayed in the sense where it'll

[00:41:16] make it less time to get it going you know so um but yeah everyone will be the first to know when it

[00:41:22] goes and you know we're all trying to locally to to make it grow and this way it gets to recognize

[00:41:27] more across Canada and then we all kind of help each other out you know so yeah absolutely

    [00:41:33] and now in in Canada and again I don't I don't know I don't know I don't know

[00:41:38] for a fact there's just something I heard but the Canadian government like you guys that has a Canadian

[00:41:43] government recognized Fuzball as a national sport um I mean I don't work for the department of

[00:41:51] you know those guys that immigration or anything but uh you know when people say I guess

[00:41:55] when they come through the border you know they take consideration our tournaments or our

[00:42:00] flyers that are happening and it's good and vice versa you know and like if we go through the Buffalo

[00:42:04] border or through New York whatever you know they wish on the flyer and it's not like the first time

[00:42:10] they've heard about it you know so yeah they usually let us in based on that and I can't

[00:42:14] speak coming into Canada because I'm on the opposite end of the spec uh the scale you know but uh

[00:42:20] yeah I mean uh I feel like it's getting more common and more frequent so um do you think I can say

[00:42:27] is more if you come down these are gonna be yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I mean when I go to

[00:42:33] can't when I go to Canada now I just I tell them I'm going to get some some poutine and some what

[00:42:43] I have no idea what you're talking about oh it's so good oh we've got a few stables

[00:42:52] we have two in and beer tails and he's got this guy's on cultured Mario this guy is on cultured

[00:42:58] no poutine poutine is french fries with these cards and creepy on top oh oh oh oh oh yeah

[00:43:07] unique that'd be unique uh choose you know you know what else I like swish alay I love swish alay

[00:43:13] yeah yeah swish alay and yeah you send you bears and so poutine is not present is not pump

[00:43:20] free what pump free the french fry what what we based our french fry on I guess it's called the

[00:43:30] pump free something like that yeah no swish alay swish alay is a chicken joint and they got french

[00:43:36] fries and then they got this gravy okay okay yeah dude because again I used to be in Canada all

[00:43:43] the time I had family there and then I used to go up there to play hockey I used to go up

[00:43:46] there to play hockey all the time but oh yeah man I haven't been to Canada in at least it's been

[00:43:54] 25 years it's been a long time okay make plans to come next year for our whole family and your

[00:44:00] old famed tournament absolutely man yeah no I my wife like I said she's never been um I want to

[00:44:09] take her I want to I want to take it to Toronto I want to take her to Ottawa my dad my dad's actually

[00:44:15] so my dad used to go to Canada like twice a month my family owned a business and my dad would drive

[00:44:20] up there and my sister and I always thought like he had another family up there because he was up

[00:44:25] there so much but whatever anyway so he's driving cross country with my mom and then he's gonna

[00:44:34] drop her off in Seattle and then he's gonna drive to Alaska and then he's gonna drive back

[00:44:39] drive to Alaska yeah he's gonna drive he bought up he he's spec ordered a 1500 or ram 1500

[00:44:45] to do this trip and he's gonna drive back across Canada through the Canadian Rockies

[00:44:50] because he wants to so figure that out okay but well no so like my dad we owned a bus company my

[00:44:57] dad's touched almost every state so this trip he's gonna finish and then he's already been to Hawaii

[00:45:04] in Alaska but he wants to drive to Alaska and then he's got like three Canadian provinces he hasn't

[00:45:09] touched so he's gonna drive through touch those and then he's gonna have touched all of North America

[00:45:15] including Hawaii Alaska so he's got this big trip plan but my dad loves going to Canada I'm

[00:45:22] he's up there all the time he's a huge Leafs fan huge huge Leafs fan die hard Leafs fan had it

[00:45:26] beat into me my whole life so I was don't look I'm not I was almost born in Canada I was like three

[00:45:32] months oh yeah yeah shores you like shores you're watching shores you on hula no I don't

[00:45:41] oh man it's a hockey show it's funny oh my god a million shows you don't like it's hard to keep track

[00:45:49] of yeah so how many how many days a week you play man so I mean our local scene in auto we

[00:46:02] play we have league night every Wednesday and then between league we you know we do D.A.P.'s

[00:46:06] and also Fridays as well so nice I'm gonna promote a lot of new players to come on Friday because

[00:46:13] we don't want to scare them on Wednesday too much you know and then they become a couple times

[00:46:16] on a Friday then we say hey come on on Wednesday you know so okay so you gotta earn your

[00:46:21] earn your rankings there before you can step into a Wednesday night yeah we try not to kind of

[00:46:27] lure them just to Wednesday because we don't want to scare them but we so we're actually starting

[00:46:32] a spring league and we just finished our winter league which is 16 weeks plus the playoff time

[00:46:37] so we're starting a spring league actually our first day of spring league is Wednesday and

[00:46:45] we try to mix it up a little bit where we try and do a pro or somebody with a lot of experience

[00:46:51] and they try and take on two new people right so okay and what we do is we offer discount for

[00:46:57] the pros to take on new people you know and to make it better that way so that it entices you to

[00:47:01] take on new people right so right many players are free we cover the costs and stuff like that and

[00:47:06] yeah new people are learning and trying to get recruit more people all right so yeah we're so great

[00:47:12] see incentive yeah that's what it is that you've got to you gotta find a way to just bring people in

[00:47:19] and want at a time and don't scare them off you know that's the that's the part yeah so it's

[00:47:25] been pretty good and recently lately on even Wednesdays when you go for league but typically mostly

[00:47:31] on Fridays when we go there's always like there's been a lot of random players um playing the tables

[00:47:36] when we show up during a Friday because it's a Friday night and you know you try and get a few

[00:47:40] of them to recruit and you know they may or may not be interested but now we have uh we have

[00:47:45] local flyers for Friday nights and league night and stuff like that so um you know people are starting

[00:47:51] to kind of see them more often because we have some new updated flyers and uh it seems to be

[00:47:57] you know grabbing people's attention and stuff and hopefully this uh turn of this week gonna be good

[00:48:01] because um there's a UFC on the weekend as well so hopefully we get a lot of exposure

[00:48:05] to the tournament they're like oh my god you know like all these people in lights and stuff so

[00:48:09] it'd be pretty good so and we have a lot of TVs at the at the venue where we play at tailgators so

[00:48:14] we put the live stream and stuff up on there we have for projector setup and stuff as well they really

[00:48:18] get cool those attentions and uh farmer group people that way you know so how's uh how's the

[00:48:24] food at tailgators by the way fantastic they're always kind of like they've had a kind of a

[00:48:28] consistent menu for a while and they change it every couple of years um but yeah people come

[00:48:33] there it's pretty good for the tournaments we have like you know which I have it you know make sure

[00:48:38] yeah we have a you know turn make sure we have like a good like an experienced waitress or a waiter

[00:48:43] one two of them at a time because there's always so many people just ordering stuff you know but it's

[00:48:48] it's like I'll say it's pretty good and they have a good selection of whatever you want to contenders

[00:48:52] they've all know say your bites wraps good solids awesome it's pretty good so yeah yeah yeah and say

[00:48:58] Canadian dollars yeah so somebody wants to see the flyer where can they go see the flyer for this

[00:49:04] tournament um okay so you can go to any of our sites uh we have a multi link actually which contains

[00:49:10] all our our links but we're on Facebook we're on YouTube we're on Instagram auto auto foosball

[00:49:16] and then there is our multi link it's a tap link um that brings you to there and it has like our uh

[00:49:22] foosball flyer our league flyers it has our you know with our local ranks the first certain players

[00:49:28] that are attending and it has all our social media on there as well so oh cool and uh yeah

[00:49:33] it'd be really good and on there it has all links like I said for our youtube our facebook and our

[00:49:38] instagram and our twitch accounts which will be multi streaming uh the tournament as well

[00:49:43] and uh inside of foods is gonna also host this oh nice yeah yeah very cool i noticed on your

[00:49:50] flyer that you guys are paying out four places for for the events you have uh open doubles and singles

[00:49:58] expert doubles doubles and singles uh was it was it rookie or is an amateur forgotten what we have

[00:50:04] rookies yeah the last we did amateurs and we're gonna split it up this year so this way beginner and

[00:50:08] rookies fall under the rookie category and uh we kind of go from there because a bunch of our

[00:50:14] our beginners and stuff are like newer but they've you know they're not brand new so they're kind

[00:50:17] of in between beginner and rookies okay um yeah playing at that level I think we'll bring them

[00:50:22] up to a rookie from the beginner and uh it just kind of cleans up any of the ranks a little bit

[00:50:27] and makes things go the most smooth or where uh you know eventually if it's a bigger event we

[00:50:31] got more tables and then include an amateur rank um but you know every year we kind of mix around

[00:50:36] and do little things that are differently and just see what really works and what really uh you

[00:50:40] know people get involved with and we just kind of go from there so rookies would be permitted to play

[00:50:45] all the events yes yeah and these are a little bit differently depending on what ranks you play

[00:50:51] uh you know so um yeah you pay a little bit less if you're a beginner playing in a rookie event

[00:50:57] you know if you're an amateur playing an expert event and uh so on right so yeah makes it kind

[00:51:03] of fantastic you know and not bad not bad pan there I think I was at first place for uh open

[00:51:09] open doubles was uh 500 bucks uh I don't know the numbers remember I saw off my hand but yeah

[00:51:15] whatever's on the chart is just based on the player count and then if we have more than obviously

[00:51:19] it was just increased from there right oh that's great yeah it's you our parents are you

[00:51:23] we're getting there you know we're getting in the like you know five six thousand around there

[00:51:27] and you're taking so um but and hopefully the grow and we're working on some sponsors

[00:51:33] to add to the price bowl and that's really going to catch up your attention when the price

[00:51:36] bowl starts growing right so absolutely yeah so yeah absolutely so what um what software

[00:51:42] you guys running on are you run on modern uh yeah so we'll be we'll be using house of Germans

[00:51:48] uh look on what we host on awesome it's pretty clean and flawless and uh you know and it really

[00:51:53] helps you because it helps execute all the SMS texting and stuff when your game is called so

[00:51:58] it just keeps everything keeps on going right so that there's a little big major delays and

[00:52:02] I think stays on track because we have a schedule to keep and we have our starimony that's on the

[00:52:06] Saturday so um yeah so it's uh you know we don't want people leaving at 3 a.m. on Sunday night

[00:52:12] right and that's great I mean it really seems like like you know you guys have a really solid

[00:52:17] plan in place you got your software set up and um yeah I mean it sounds like it's going to be

[00:52:23] sounds like it's gonna be a pretty good event man I wish I could go there yeah so so what day does

[00:52:28] it start does it start on uh people the people the fifth on Friday yep yeah right I believe our

[00:52:34] DIP is at 7 p.m. uh Eastern standard um and we go from there and then you don't the events fall

[00:52:40] through and then there's another event that starts later on the Friday night and then um back out at

[00:52:45] 10 a.m. 11 a.m. on Saturday so beautiful yeah yeah yeah it's gonna be a big weekend so what are

[00:52:52] you doing to prepare yourself what do you take energy drinks what do you do uh yeah so well myself

[00:52:59] personally I try not to drink you know it's trying to stay focused you know so um we have a few

[00:53:04] guys I'm you know I'm a lot of hands-on with the live stream stuff so that's gonna priority for me

[00:53:08] yeah um if my if I game play us the kind of stuff a little bit for the sake of uh you know the event

[00:53:14] and so be it but uh and that's why we have a couple guys uh two three to four guys uh assigned

[00:53:20] to something they know how do you do everything because you know this guy's gone then it's got

[00:53:23] to take over and there's in the blazer panic so yeah so it's pretty good and we have like a

[00:53:30] recording station and stuff now set up so you know that doesn't kind of interfere or

[00:53:34] congest the registration office or things like that so um yeah it's really good and we have a good

[00:53:40] little like I said we have the nice little rest area with coaches and uh you know when we set up

    [00:53:44] uh tournament it's it's nice we're like I have a huge corner and there's still like another 10,000

[00:53:49] square feet if you want to walk around or you know whatever get a drink somewhere else

[00:53:53] yeah it's fantastic so cool a lot of room yeah nice ball who uh who are you playing with uh so I'm

[00:54:00] playing with another local uh his name is Mark Reinville and he's traveled to the states often

[00:54:04] I've heard that name Mark Reinville yeah and he came to Albany there last time

[00:54:09] tall yeah so uh yeah he's got some good skilled runners belt uh yeah so we play well together

[00:54:15] and uh sometimes we take time off the play and then we play together but we're gonna do uh

[00:54:21] the majority of events together in this one just uh kind of stay in sync and see how we do you know

[00:54:26] so it should be fun awesome yeah that's awesome so Marty it's uh we're hoping that the next

[00:54:33] smashdown June June 8th will be uh we'll see you guys bring a car load down maybe from Ottawa

[00:54:40] yeah well yeah there's uh you know there's a few of us that really wanted to go yesterday but

[00:54:44] long weekend something like that make it up because it's not far at all and uh a lot of fun as well

[00:54:50] awesome make sure make sure you bring Tom some Poutine next time you come

[00:54:55] yeah for sure I'm gonna have to if I hold it to that yes now that and I've got my uh my interest

[00:55:01] peeked on that one um but yeah we're wishing the all the luck with it with the tournament man

[00:55:06] it's uh it's a it's a big undertaking but you know what when all of a sudden done you're doing

[00:55:10] the right thing here yeah you know and then that's uh everyone's you know being a part of it is

[00:55:17] helps everybody to grow and uh I'm gonna get candid on the map and you know I'm sure like many of

[00:55:23] the goal is you know like it'd be nice to have uh Poozball recognizes me you know I'm

[00:55:27] having to sport or something huge like you know I can't believe how fast pickle ball blew up and

[00:55:32] Poozball here so many hold on hold on okay can I just a true confession uh I have tomorrow off

[00:55:40] and my wife does as well it's it's uh you know we're both took the time off and she booked this for

[00:55:45] a four four p.m. appointment at the local legacy pickleball courts okay yeah so Tom I'm not I'm not mad

[00:55:54] I'm not mad I'm just disappointed you know my my wife and I my wife and I we're at Dick's

[00:56:00] sporting good yesterday and I said look at these stupid pickleball rackets 200 bucks for a pickle

[00:56:05] ball racket and you gotta be kidding me they don't have a Poozball table in this place it's a

[00:56:10] sporting good store but they got pickle ball rackets for 200 bucks well we can still buy

[00:56:18] their tennis wraps for uh you know for foosball now I buy them and I'm 50 at a time I can hold pack

[00:56:24] back here so no it's uh I hate to disappoint but it is something that you know

[00:56:31] I enjoy it it's okay yeah man go have some fun not as much as not as much as foosball by

[00:56:36] any means but you know it's something the wife and I can do together and she kicks my butt you know

[00:56:41] yeah well I mean you got you gotta let her win my wife won't play foosball with me so okay

[00:56:45] maybe I should start playing pickleball with my wife yeah yeah I think that's it's it's

[00:56:50] advisable I can say that I could see that's not happening not anytime soon uh so Monio's uh his

[00:57:00] pickle ball reached the uh canary yet is it is it uh yeah like I you know I tried I don't get involved

[00:57:08] in that they don't have stuff like that I see I see myself and I'm just like you know I'm

[00:57:14] got here I'm dying for breath of air for breath of fresh air for you know like somebody to be

[00:57:19] like I squeeze ball a little bit more than it is I know I want to get it up there with darks and

[00:57:23] pools and all that stuff so yep um yeah but I know what used to be huge back in the day and then

[00:57:29] you know the the the where is the tarry came and killed it a little bit and they stopped giving away

[00:57:32] cars and then you know and we're just trying to recreate it bring it back even stronger than ever

[00:57:37] yeah I mean the work you guys are doing you know right just you're heading in the right direction so

[00:57:44] mm hmm I appreciate it man I really do uh I I hope I hope you guys have a great turnout I hope

[00:57:50] the tournament just runs flawlessly smoothlessly I hope you play great and uh I'll be checked

[00:57:57] in the charts and uh yeah we'll be watching the watch the team you're coming on it talk about it

[00:58:03] appreciate it yeah absolutely thanks a lot for uh for everything and we'll definitely see you guys

[00:58:08] around soon for sure oh yeah and thanks for the inspiration on the streaming we really appreciate

[00:58:12] that as well and that's uh it's here to stay by the way every week good yeah good make it spread

[00:58:19] like wildfire get everybody doing it and uh more exposure to the battery right so cool well

[00:58:25] what do you hope that uh if there's anything you need or anytime you want to come back on and

[00:58:30] chat about foosball man we're we're ready to have you fantastic yeah we'll get some of our other

[00:58:35] locals they're uh okay maybe on here eventually and that I know they'd love to get on here

[00:58:40] and chat and I feel like a couple of the other blanks for any other things that you have going

[00:58:45] maybe after the tournament then they can talk about uh yeah yeah we'll get John okay he's

[00:58:51] you know like what a hat or cut his hair or something but yeah we get out absolutely absolutely

[00:58:57] uh i'll pass the message for sure yes please do please do and go make beliefs

[00:59:04] just saying go leave yeah he wants to go no sense yeah i'm i'm all all room for any team okay

[00:59:12] let's go oh yeah i'll play out just hey a Canadian team has a want to Stanley Cup in a long time so

[00:59:17] isn't that weird gonna have it soon play also starting let's go let's go right right i still want

[00:59:23] the Bruins to win i'm sorry all my friends back home can be me i just don't be

[00:59:27] getting close with the Stanley Cup oh man dis in the home front wow

[00:59:31] dis in the home front whatever i go home i wear my leaves jersey i get flipped off and

[00:59:36] people get mad at me and uh whatever dude i don't care whatever screw the Bruins so yeah

[00:59:42] brutal that is harsh that's all we're talking about

[00:59:49] anyway yeah ghost hands go sends go leaps let's go go poutine

[00:59:57] have we have recovered the gamut yet or not i think we have i think so yeah well

[01:00:02] well moody you thank you thank you again for being on food stock live uh this is episode number
