    [00:02:03] Well hello there

[00:02:04] It's Tom Robinson once again for another episode of Foos Talk Live

[00:02:08] And we're back together again

[00:02:10] For a really interesting 207th episode tonight

[00:02:14] It is getting so close now

[00:02:16] We're down to what about 10 days or so before the big tournament

[00:02:20] Which is happening in Dallas, Texas

[00:02:22] The ITSF World Series of Tornado

[00:02:26] And we're looking forward to that

[00:02:27] And tonight, very special guest with us

[00:02:29] To give us a bit more insight as to what's happening

[00:02:32] In Dallas, Texas that weekend

[00:02:34] So we're looking forward to chatting about that

[00:02:36] In just a few moments

[00:02:37] But of course we are talking about the game of Foosball

[00:02:40] Or shall I say the sport of Foosball

[00:02:42] So it always helps when you have somebody else

[00:02:44] Who wants to talk about the sport too

[00:02:46] Which of course would be Randy Raposo

[00:02:48] The great state of Alabama

    [00:02:50] Hello Randy

    [00:02:51] Hey Tom

    [00:02:52] What's happening man?

[00:02:54] Not much, how are you this evening?

[00:02:56] I'm kind of having a little bit of a difficulty

    [00:02:58] Focusing on your picture

[00:02:59] Are you wearing a tie?

    [00:03:01] Tom, so I'm not

    [00:03:04] I'm not dressed like a weatherman

    [00:03:06] Oh?

[00:03:08] We've got Foosball royalty on tonight

[00:03:10] And I wanted to dress accordingly

    [00:03:12] And then of course

[00:03:15] One of my favorite people in Foosball is here

    [00:03:17] Mr. Don Wilson

[00:03:18] I'm just really excited about

[00:03:20] Tonight's show I wanted to look good

[00:03:22] And you know you look good

[00:03:24] You feel good, you play good

[00:03:26] One of my coaches told me that one time

    [00:03:28] True though

[00:03:29] Yeah, it's going to be a fun hour

[00:03:31] You clean up pretty well I have to say

[00:03:33] Yeah, I got to beat them off with a stick Tom

    [00:03:36] I was thinking maybe you're just

[00:03:38] Out of respect for your wife

[00:03:39] Maybe you took her out from Mother's Day today

    [00:03:41] And I don't know

[00:03:42] Not even for a minute Tom

    [00:03:44] No, oh well okay

    [00:03:46] Nice, first of all

[00:03:48] Before we get into the meat of things

[00:03:50] I wanted to say congratulations

[00:03:52] And great playing to all those players

    [00:03:54] At Moneyball

    [00:03:56] Moneyball Northwest this evening

[00:03:58] This weekend they've had a great tournament

[00:04:00] Looks like the coverage from Modern Foosball

    [00:04:02] Has been outstanding

[00:04:04] And I watched a few of the matches

[00:04:06] Do you watch any of the Moneyball?

[00:04:08] I watched one match today

[00:04:10] I watched the Justin Shaw

[00:04:12] Robbie Hayes against Ryan and Brandon Match

    [00:04:14] Saw the same one

[00:04:16] That one shot where Justin lifted the table

    [00:04:18] Off the ground

[00:04:20] What was up with that? He lifted the table off the ground

    [00:04:22] Justin Shaw is

    [00:04:24] He's just a strong guy

    [00:04:26] Yeah

    [00:04:28] You know

[00:04:32] The funny thing was after he did it

[00:04:34] He was like I don't think I did anything

[00:04:36] Just a usual shot, it's my normal shot

    [00:04:38] I don't think I did it

[00:04:40] So you know it's pretty

    [00:04:42] A funny foosball

[00:04:44] Normally when somebody does something

[00:04:46] It's never like in the middle

[00:04:48] You got two ends of the spectrum

[00:04:50] You've got the players that are like

[00:04:52] Hey sorry I got you

[00:04:54] And then you've got the guys that will argue

    [00:04:56] And say I didn't do anything

[00:04:58] It's just one of those things

[00:05:00] You have to learn how to navigate through it

[00:05:02] So they flipped the coin

    [00:05:04] Yes, I think you're right

[00:05:06] And then Ryan and Brandon

    [00:05:08] Now Robbie Hayes

[00:05:10] And Clay talked about Robbie

    [00:05:12] He's a Northwest player

    [00:05:14] But he's a really good pro

    [00:05:16] Yeah, good player

[00:05:18] He played well in that match

[00:05:20] But Ryan and Brandon just too strong

[00:05:22] Think about the combination of a brand

[00:05:24] And Munoz and a Ryan Moore

    [00:05:26] It's almost like a foregone conclusion

    [00:05:28] In so many ways

[00:05:30] There's very few pairings other than

[00:05:32] Tony Spratum and Rob Maris

    [00:05:34] That might have some

    [00:05:36] Opportunity to win

[00:05:38] In a situation like that

[00:05:40] So you know, that's just the way

    [00:05:42] I see it anyway

    [00:05:44] It's a tough health decline

    [00:05:46] Very difficult

[00:05:48] Let's talk about the things

[00:05:50] That we're looking forward to most

[00:05:52] For me I've got to say

    [00:05:54] Coming up in well

[00:05:56] 10-11 days heading to Dallas, Texas

    [00:05:58] To the Westin Hotel

[00:06:00] For the 2024 ITSF World Series

    [00:06:04] Of Tornado

[00:06:06] And we are so lucky to have

[00:06:08] Two of the people who are instrumental

[00:06:10] On this side of the pond to get this thing to happen

[00:06:12] First of all, our good friend

    [00:06:14] From Texas

[00:06:16] He's been on a few times here on the show

[00:06:18] And we always love having him on

[00:06:20] Steve Murray, welcome back to Foose Talk Live

[00:06:24] Hey Tom, what's going on? Hi Randy

[00:06:26] Hello sir, pleasure to have you

[00:06:28] It's so great for you to

[00:06:30] Take a little time out

[00:06:32] Did you and Gina step out from

    [00:06:34] Other's Day today?

[00:06:36] No, we had a really nice

[00:06:38] Quiet day here just us

    [00:06:40] Okay

[00:06:42] And hanging out with us and the dogs

[00:06:44] Mom is out doing a little

[00:06:46] Late post Mother's Day shopping

[00:06:48] Which kind of scares me a little bit

[00:06:50] But she had to go spend her coals

[00:06:52] Cash and get that last minute

[00:06:54] Shopping in so she'll be here any minute

    [00:06:56] But it's been a really relaxing

    [00:06:58] Day and

[00:07:00] It rained a lot today so it was

[00:07:02] Nice and quiet and dark and we just

[00:07:04] We're back and watch TV and did a whole lot of nothing

    [00:07:06] Awesome, fantastic

[00:07:08] Well alongside you tonight Steve

[00:07:10] Of course is your right hand man

[00:07:12] When it comes to putting this whole thing together

[00:07:14] For the World Series of the ITSF

    [00:07:16] Donald Wilson welcome back

[00:07:18] To Foose Talk Live man, it's been

[00:07:20] A couple of days since we saw you

    [00:07:23] Yeah, it's been a little bit

[00:07:25] So welcome back and I hope

[00:07:27] You and your wife had some time

[00:07:29] To celebrate Mother's Day today

[00:07:31] Oh yeah, I took her

[00:07:33] Well I learned a little trick on

    [00:07:35] On line is

[00:07:37] You know when you get in the car and you say

[00:07:39] Where do you want to go Ed? You always hear

    [00:07:41] Well I don't know, you pick

    [00:07:43] So I said so I learned

    [00:07:45] I learned a trick on internet

    [00:07:47] I said well

[00:07:49] I'm going to take you to your favorite place

[00:07:51] You'll never guess where it is

    [00:07:53] And she said

[00:07:55] When she said it I said you're right

    [00:07:59] Randy, Randy

[00:08:01] That is a good thing to use but I took her

[00:08:03] One of her favorite places to eat is Newt

[00:08:05] So we went to Newt's

[00:08:07] Yeah, it was real nice

[00:08:09] We had a good time

    [00:08:11] Just me and her

[00:08:13] They say statistically that Mother's Day

[00:08:15] Is the busiest day in restaurants

[00:08:17] Across the country, hands down

[00:08:19] Busier than any other holiday

[00:08:21] Which makes sense because mom deserves a day out

    [00:08:23] Freakin' brutal, freakin' brutal

    [00:08:25] We went out yesterday

[00:08:27] We couldn't do it today, yeah it was too bad

[00:08:29] We took my mother-in-law out yesterday

    [00:08:31] And

[00:08:33] God it was so bad

[00:08:35] It was so bad, even Saturday

[00:08:37] Because people were doing the same thing

[00:08:39] They knew today was going to be rough

    [00:08:41] But today

    [00:08:43] My wife and I

[00:08:45] We had a nice day

[00:08:47] Went to church in the morning

    [00:08:49] Went see her grandmother

    [00:08:51] And then

[00:08:53] Came home and that's it

    [00:08:55] Just relax

    [00:08:57] My mom is home

[00:08:59] I called her this morning to wish her a happy Mother's Day

[00:09:01] I said, Mom open your arms

    [00:09:03] Squeeze them tight

    [00:09:05] Happy Mother's Day

    [00:09:07] Awesome

    [00:09:09] Well

    [00:09:11] It's Mother's Day yes

[00:09:13] I do want to shout out to those

    [00:09:15] Moms who play foosball

    [00:09:17] With their kids

    [00:09:19] Keisha Roe, there's a great example

    [00:09:23] Shelly

[00:09:25] Who's out of upstate New York in Syracuse

    [00:09:27] Shelly Ritter

[00:09:29] How about Mary Moore, Nancy Pappas

    [00:09:33] There's a bunch of them

    [00:09:35] The end

    [00:09:37] Long list of foosbommers

    [00:09:39] Yes indeed

[00:09:41] And one of these days

[00:09:43] We'll have a bunch of foosball moms

    [00:09:45] On from Mother's Day

[00:09:47] But we guys will have to do this time

[00:09:49] You don't have to change it to two hours though

[00:09:51] No, hey we'll hold on a second

[00:09:53] If you get Mama Gina on there

[00:09:55] You might have to add three

    [00:09:57] Yeah that's right

[00:09:59] Just go let her give a speech

[00:10:01] Because we'll be here for days

[00:10:03] You know the first time

[00:10:05] I played you and Miss Gina

    [00:10:07] I think it was like World's O'Farr

    [00:10:09] I was a rookie

[00:10:11] And I was still super

    [00:10:13] Super green to foosball

[00:10:15] And I had heard stories

    [00:10:17] About Steve Murray

[00:10:19] He was eight feet tall

[00:10:21] His hands were so big

    [00:10:23] He had six fingers

    [00:10:25] All this stuff

[00:10:27] And we played you in open doubles

[00:10:29] And you're playing with your wife

[00:10:31] And I'm like this wife can't be that good

[00:10:33] Man you guys beat the crap out of us so bad

    [00:10:35] She blocked me

[00:10:37] I mean you guys just

    [00:10:39] You three straighted us

[00:10:41] Yeah it was pretty bad

    [00:10:43] It was pretty bad

    [00:10:45] She's a very accomplished goalie

    [00:10:47] And believe me

[00:10:49] You know I did the heavy lifting

[00:10:51] But boy when it came to crunch time

[00:10:53] She got me out of a lot of jams

    [00:10:55] I've watched her

[00:10:57] Put the bricks on a lot of people

[00:10:59] A lot of good players

    [00:11:01] Fabulous defense

    [00:11:03] No doubt about it

    [00:11:05] So Dallas

[00:11:07] I'm looking at the calendar

    [00:11:09] Today's the 12th

[00:11:11] It starts on the 22nd

    [00:11:13] 23rd I think

    [00:11:15] 23rd

    [00:11:17] 22nd we're

[00:11:19] We're going to be putting the final touches on the setup

    [00:11:21] On the 22nd

    [00:11:23] And as of 10am

    [00:11:25] Donald on Friday morning

[00:11:27] You guys are going to be rocking out

[00:11:29] Playing all day and the good news is

[00:11:31] You'll know when you're supposed to play

[00:11:33] And you'll know when you can go sit

    [00:11:35] We're essentially 11

[00:11:37] 12 days away from this

[00:11:39] This event this is the first time ever

    [00:11:41] On American soil

[00:11:43] This type of event ITSF

    [00:11:45] World type of event

[00:11:47] Can you just kind of tell us

    [00:11:49] Essentially how it started

    [00:11:51] Please

[00:11:53] Yeah I'll give you a little back story

[00:11:55] And then I'll let Donald chime in

[00:11:57] But I can tell you that

[00:11:59] The one thing that every one of us acknowledges

    [00:12:01] We kind of

[00:12:03] It was a whirlwind putting this thing together

    [00:12:05] We

[00:12:07] You know the idea has been kicked around for a long time

    [00:12:09] I originally

    [00:12:11] Was talking to

[00:12:13] Mark and the gang for a long time

[00:12:15] We kicked it around for a long time

[00:12:17] He just talked about it and the importance of it

[00:12:19] And of course I had the privilege of experiencing

    [00:12:21] The ITSF World Cup

[00:12:23] A couple times and I'm telling you

[00:12:25] It was an experience like I never

[00:12:27] Experienced before it was great

[00:12:29] Just loved every bit about it

    [00:12:31] So anyway

    [00:12:33] The

    [00:12:35] Tornado factory

[00:12:37] They had been in discussions

[00:12:39] With ITSF and kind of renewed their relationship

[00:12:41] And started talking about doing something different here

[00:12:43] And doing some new things

    [00:12:45] And rekindling that relationship

[00:12:47] And getting Tornado more involved

[00:12:49] In the ITSF and the international scene

[00:12:51] So they struck up those discussions

    [00:12:53] And of course

    [00:12:55] Somehow Mark

    [00:12:57] Through the international folks

[00:12:59] And all that he became

    [00:13:01] Involved in those discussions

[00:13:03] And we talked about it a couple times

[00:13:05] And then yeah the tornado guys

[00:13:07] They you know I've had a relationship

[00:13:09] With those guys for a long long time

    [00:13:11] They've done a ton for us

[00:13:13] They've really taken good care of us over the years

[00:13:15] As far as Texas State

    [00:13:17] And just supporting promoters

[00:13:19] When they could but me in particular

[00:13:21] The Texas State they've taken good care of us

[00:13:23] So anytime you know obviously

[00:13:25] When they said hey what do you think

[00:13:27] About this or would you like to be involved in that

[00:13:29] I'm going to be there

[00:13:31] To try to help them any way I can

[00:13:33] So that just led to more discussions

[00:13:35] And you know we kicked that thing

    [00:13:37] Around and we

[00:13:39] Donald was involved because he's the president

    [00:13:41] Of the USTSO and

[00:13:43] And even though we knew that we were crunched

[00:13:45] For time and it was just a short period of time

[00:13:47] To try to put a program together like this

    [00:13:49] We pulled it together

    [00:13:51] And you know

[00:13:53] A lot of people I know that there's been

    [00:13:55] There's been a little pushback about

[00:13:57] Having the same date as Texas State

[00:13:59] Because we've been established on that date

    [00:14:01] For 30 some years

    [00:14:03] And I believe

[00:14:05] That's one of the reasons why they targeted

    [00:14:07] Texas and that weekend

[00:14:09] In particular because of the success

[00:14:11] That we've had over the years

[00:14:13] And I'm not just bragging that's something

[00:14:15] That we can back up statistically

[00:14:17] Any way you want to look at it

    [00:14:19] But so

    [00:14:21] At the time

[00:14:23] It made perfect sense really

    [00:14:25] To try to take

    [00:14:27] Advantage of this opportunity

[00:14:29] And I look at it as an opportunity

[00:14:31] I don't look at it as we're losing Texas State

[00:14:33] We're not losing Texas State

[00:14:35] Texas State crew is going to continue on

    [00:14:37] They're already talking about

    [00:14:39] Some

[00:14:41] Collaborations to try to do it later this year

[00:14:43] And a worst case scenario

[00:14:45] If it doesn't happen this year which I believe it will

[00:14:49] It'll be on Memorial Day weekend

    [00:14:51] Next year

    [00:14:53] So the reality is

[00:14:55] We had an opportunity to bring the first ever

    [00:14:57] ITSF World

[00:14:59] Series of Foosball in North America

[00:15:01] And they asked us to do it in Texas

[00:15:03] Because it made most sense

    [00:15:05] The factories here

[00:15:07] We have connections with hotel properties

[00:15:09] We have a lot of things going for us

[00:15:11] So there was no way

[00:15:13] That I was going to pass that up

[00:15:15] And not just for me

[00:15:17] I'm talking about for the players

    [00:15:19] The United States players

[00:15:21] I think that they deserve seeing a

[00:15:23] Getting a look at how they do it internationally

[00:15:25] And what this thing could become

[00:15:27] And Fareed's been doing it

[00:15:29] For years and he's got experience

[00:15:31] Putting on really good shows

    [00:15:33] And drawing sponsorships

[00:15:35] And so on and so forth

[00:15:37] That's another discussion of course

[00:15:39] But that's kind of how that transpired

[00:15:41] I just thought why would we pass up

[00:15:43] An opportunity to bring the first World Series

    [00:15:45] That also has

    [00:15:47] An

    [00:15:49] Enter event

[00:15:51] A ticket to the gold finals

    [00:15:53] Which is like

[00:15:55] All expense paid trip to the World Cup

    [00:15:57] To the gold finals

[00:15:59] For 50 grand and you don't pay a penny

[00:16:01] I mean there's so many opportunities involved in this thing

[00:16:03] So really at the end of the day

[00:16:05] It made no sense not to try to work with them

    [00:16:07] And work it out

    [00:16:09] So here we are

    [00:16:11] Terrific

[00:16:13] I got off on a little bit of a rant there

[00:16:15] That your Donald could probably

[00:16:17] Kick in there a little bit

[00:16:19] But really that's kind of how it started

[00:16:21] But the point I want to make

[00:16:23] Is everybody thought this was replacing

[00:16:25] Texas state I want to make it perfectly clear

[00:16:27] It is not replacing Texas state

    [00:16:29] For the record

    [00:16:31] This is an opportunity

    [00:16:33] For USA foosball

[00:16:35] To get a little flavor of what they do

[00:16:37] Internationally and I can tell

[00:16:39] You what they do over there

    [00:16:41] Is pretty impressive

[00:16:43] And that's nothing against our local scene

[00:16:45] I love our promoters, I love our players

[00:16:47] But they take it to the next level

[00:16:49] And that's what I want to see for the United States

    [00:16:51] Wow, nicely done

    [00:16:53] I really appreciate that

[00:16:55] Donald you're on the more mechanical

[00:16:57] End of this thing when it comes to the actual

    [00:16:59] Tournament itself

[00:17:01] Getting registered, getting ready to

    [00:17:03] Get set up and

    [00:17:05] For you just personally

[00:17:07] Going through this process how has it been for you

[00:17:09] Have you had to make a few adjustments

[00:17:11] As to what you normally do for a tournament

    [00:17:13] Well

[00:17:15] Just to reiterate what Steve has said

[00:17:17] There was been talk about

[00:17:19] Having this for a while

[00:17:21] I remember that when we came over

[00:17:23] And had a meeting with

    [00:17:25] The owners of Tornado

    [00:17:27] Back in I believe late 21

    [00:17:29] Early 22 about

    [00:17:31] The World Cup

[00:17:33] We talked about World Series

[00:17:35] And I don't know if you saw the

[00:17:37] Podcast with Trace Dites on there

[00:17:39] But I was talking to him about a World Series

[00:17:41] They were interested and I gave them

    [00:17:43] Information and then

[00:17:45] You know I kind of stepped back

[00:17:47] And they took it on and like Steve said

[00:17:49] I was talking about it and

[00:17:51] What I'd like to say is

[00:17:53] This is going to be

    [00:17:55] Wild. I mean

[00:17:57] There's only one first right

    [00:17:59] And

[00:18:01] We need to make it big and that's what

    [00:18:03] That's what's going to happen

    [00:18:05] They just happened to

[00:18:07] Hit us at a time where

    [00:18:09] It was

[00:18:11] Where we could put it or where they could

[00:18:13] Put it where Texas State normally is

[00:18:15] But like Steve said this isn't

[00:18:17] An inaugural thing. It's the first one

    [00:18:19] Here in the U.S.

[00:18:21] And right off the bat

[00:18:23] The first thing for E.Totis is that

    [00:18:25] He's got 250 Germans

    [00:18:27] Mad at him because

[00:18:29] They all wanted to come to USA to play

[00:18:31] In this tournament and they have

    [00:18:33] A Bonzini World Series

[00:18:35] It ends four days before ours

[00:18:37] Now we have about eight players

    [00:18:39] That's hopping a train the last

[00:18:41] Day of the Bonzini to fly straight

[00:18:43] Here to play in this. No kidding

[00:18:45] So he said next year

    [00:18:47] We'll have it

    [00:18:49] Different date away from

    [00:18:51] Bonzini away from

[00:18:53] They got a tournament the same weekend as ours in London

    [00:18:55] A tornado boost while

[00:18:57] Tournament and he said he's going to make

[00:18:59] Sure and get the dates changed

[00:19:01] And we have at least

[00:19:03] 250 coming on top of what we have

    [00:19:05] So there's a huge

[00:19:07] Possibility and I'm so excited

    [00:19:09] About it because

[00:19:11] We're looking 5,600 players coming to it

    [00:19:13] Possibly next year

[00:19:15] So Tom if I could

[00:19:17] To back up just a little

[00:19:19] I don't want to miss this point because it's important

    [00:19:21] That

[00:19:23] It was cool for me

[00:19:25] I kind of helped Donald and I think he would agree

[00:19:27] We need to pull the meetings together

[00:19:29] With the USTSO and the tornado factory

[00:19:31] And the exciting part about

    [00:19:33] That is

[00:19:35] That the tornado factory was getting involved

    [00:19:37] In the possibility

[00:19:39] Of the future of foosball

[00:19:41] And just pulling those guys together

[00:19:43] And getting them into discussions

[00:19:45] To talk about how they could help

[00:19:47] And be involved, be more involved and help promoters

[00:19:49] And help get this to the next level

[00:19:51] For obvious reasons they have a business to run

[00:19:53] But I just wanted to make sure

[00:19:55] That when that started coming together

[00:19:57] I was really excited to see

[00:19:59] Donald and the USTSO guys

    [00:20:01] Start discussions with

[00:20:03] Tornado and the tornado guys

    [00:20:05] Engaged in those discussions

    [00:20:07] And

    [00:20:09] Everybody together

[00:20:11] Can only be a good thing

    [00:20:13] Right?

[00:20:15] You start throwing in the IFP

[00:20:17] And some of the local regional promoters

[00:20:19] If we can pull all that together

    [00:20:21] Things will happen

[00:20:23] Sorry for the interruption but I wanted to give

[00:20:25] Donald some little kudos there

[00:20:27] Because I just kind of set up the meeting

[00:20:29] And then they took it from there

[00:20:31] And that engaged, that kind of

[00:20:33] Flared up some very important

    [00:20:35] Conversations

[00:20:37] And it's leading to this

[00:20:39] And I think it's only going to continue

[00:20:41] To get better as we go here

[00:20:45] So Donny... Thank you Steve

[00:20:47] Yeah, yeah, so just to reiterate

[00:20:49] What I'd like to add to this too

    [00:20:51] Is that

[00:20:53] What we're having here is the first one

[00:20:55] And they're already wanting to do a five year plan

    [00:20:57] With us on this

[00:20:59] Five years? This is a starting point

    [00:21:01] Okay

    [00:21:03] And like I said

[00:21:05] It's going to be on a different day

    [00:21:07] And I think you're saying

    [00:21:09] They're not gone

[00:21:11] They're just changing their schedule this year

[00:21:13] And if it don't happen it'll be bigger and better next year

[00:21:15] And then this will be on a totally different date

[00:21:17] But it's still being texted

[00:21:19] Because that's the only place you need to have something like this

    [00:21:21] Where the factory is

[00:21:23] For the table so that helps on shipping

    [00:21:25] Stuff like that

[00:21:27] And it's easy to fly in

    [00:21:29] Exactly

[00:21:31] If memory serves, there was a time

[00:21:33] When there was a world championship

[00:21:35] Tornado that was always held in Dallas

[00:21:37] Correct? World's was at the Dallas DfW

    [00:21:39] For years

[00:21:41] My first one was at the Dallas DfW

[00:21:43] It was wonderful, it was so good

[00:21:45] You fly into the hotel

[00:21:47] You fly into the airport, you walk to the hotel

[00:21:49] The hotel is right there

[00:21:51] And you didn't have to leave the hotel all weekend

[00:21:53] And then the ballroom was huge

    [00:21:55] Everything was wonderful

[00:21:57] Dallas has a deep rich history of foosball

[00:21:59] And the fact that the factory is there

    [00:22:01] The hotel is international

    [00:22:03] The airport is international

    [00:22:05] Excuse me

    [00:22:07] Texas State

[00:22:09] Texas State is one of my favorite tournaments

    [00:22:11] I love Mississippi State

    [00:22:13] It's my favorite

[00:22:15] Texas State, I had a wonderful time

    [00:22:17] It's very player oriented

    [00:22:19] It's a wonderful tournament

[00:22:21] The whole thing makes sense

    [00:22:23] Absolutely

    [00:22:25] From a player perspective

[00:22:27] How many tables are you going to have?

    [00:22:29] This year

    [00:22:31] Hold on

[00:22:33] I'm stealing this from you there boss

    [00:22:35] We're going to have 50

    [00:22:37] Brand new, limited edition

    [00:22:39] World series

[00:22:41] Foosball tables that you've never seen before

[00:22:43] And you'll never see again

    [00:22:45] 50? You say 50?

    [00:22:47] Yeah

[00:22:49] If you didn't watch the podcast

[00:22:51] Let me tell you how Trey put it

    [00:22:53] A while back they had a

[00:22:55] Was this the pandemonium podcast that Mark had last week?

    [00:22:57] Yeah, but I'm not

[00:22:59] I didn't mention his name or who did it

    [00:23:01] I just had a podcast

[00:23:03] I'm going to throw it out

[00:23:05] I don't care, I'm going to show Mark out

    [00:23:07] No, that's good

    [00:23:09] But anyway

[00:23:11] Yeah, they had a 50th anniversary table

    [00:23:13] Come out with tornado

[00:23:15] It was the gold table

[00:23:17] And they didn't think about it

[00:23:19] But they just put the numbers

[00:23:21] In with the normal numbers

[00:23:23] So there was a stir about oh this is not limited

[00:23:25] They're making tons of them

[00:23:27] They only made 50, they just didn't have the serial numbers

    [00:23:29] Just show 50

[00:23:31] The production means that's not the sequence of the plates

    [00:23:33] Is what happened

    [00:23:35] Oh, okay

[00:23:37] These tables are going to be

    [00:23:39] 1 through 50

    [00:23:41] And it's a special color

[00:23:43] And it's also going to have an ITSF

    [00:23:45] Emblem on it

[00:23:47] And so these are like Steve said, they're limited edition

[00:23:49] They're going to be a little more than the other

[00:23:51] Tables because there's only 50 of them

[00:23:53] And they're going to look super fly

[00:23:55] And uh, that's all I'm going to say about that

[00:23:57] You're going to tell them

    [00:23:59] I'm buying them all

[00:24:01] What color are they going to be

[00:24:03] What color are they going to be

    [00:24:05] What color

[00:24:07] So we think it was stealth bomber

    [00:24:09] Stealth bomber

[00:24:11] Oh really? Oh like a matte black or matte gray

    [00:24:13] Yeah

[00:24:15] Well I was told it's going to be a brushed

    [00:24:17] Black

[00:24:21] Kind of black with the maybe a blue

    [00:24:23] Black metallic

[00:24:25] Yeah, black titanium or something like that

    [00:24:27] Oh man

[00:24:29] That table is going to look like it's going to fly away

    [00:24:31] Man

    [00:24:33] Fantastic

[00:24:35] There'll be plenty of pictures on them

    [00:24:37] In 12 days I promise you

[00:24:39] Well that's something you can put in your living room

    [00:24:41] You know

[00:24:43] I love stuff like that

[00:24:45] Yeah, so it's going to be real nice

[00:24:47] But Tom what you was asking me about

    [00:24:49] Changing things

[00:24:51] Yes it is, you know with any software

[00:24:53] When you go to play a tournament

    [00:24:55] Whether it be IFP

    [00:24:57] Or modern foosball

[00:24:59] Or some of these guys that are

[00:25:01] Programmers that make their own software

[00:25:03] You know you have to join

[00:25:05] The system to get in there

    [00:25:07] Yes

[00:25:09] And they have a new system called Coral

    [00:25:11] And I encourage everybody

[00:25:13] Even if you're not going to Texas State

[00:25:15] You should sign up and get an overtake

    [00:25:17] A Coral account

[00:25:19] That way in the future if any promoters

    [00:25:21] Use the Coral software

[00:25:23] Or if you decide you're going to go overseas

    [00:25:25] To an international event

[00:25:27] Then you'll already be in the system

[00:25:29] And it will be easier to sign up

[00:25:31] In the past you'd have to contact

    [00:25:33] Your

    [00:25:35] Federation president

[00:25:37] Or whoever is over that and they would sign you up

[00:25:39] Because there's been in the past many times

[00:25:41] I would sign Tony, Spreatum and up to a tournament overseas

    [00:25:43] You know

    [00:25:45] Mariam and Jackie Hawn

[00:25:47] All those people who traveled I'd have to register them

[00:25:49] In the tournament they pay when they get there

[00:25:51] But this Coral account is going to be

[00:25:53] Real neat, it's just something new

[00:25:55] It's very easy to do

[00:25:57] And we have to learn that

[00:25:59] Now as far as the actual tournament running

    [00:26:01] Part

[00:26:03] I believe I'm going to get a crash course right before it

    [00:26:05] Starts

[00:26:07] As tournament director my job is to make sure

[00:26:09] We have people in registration

[00:26:11] Now they use the word registration a little different

    [00:26:13] Than we do

[00:26:15] When they say registration it's more like an information desk

[00:26:17] They want people to be there that can direct

[00:26:19] People where to go, where the tables are

[00:26:21] At the schedule tell you what time

[00:26:23] But they're going to have things sitting up

    [00:26:25] Showing matches in progress

[00:26:27] You'll have a paper handed to you

[00:26:29] So like Steve was saying you'll know when you play

    [00:26:31] And

[00:26:33] Anyway it's going to be a great experience

[00:26:35] I've been twice overseas and

    [00:26:37] I haven't been disappointed every time I went

[00:26:39] And I promise if anybody

[00:26:41] Can get just a glimpse

[00:26:43] Of what we do when we go to these tournaments

    [00:26:45] You'll be hooked forever

    [00:26:47] I mean it's that amazing

[00:26:49] Now Faris is going to try to give us a taste

    [00:26:51] Of that

[00:26:53] At this tournament and he's committed for five years

[00:26:55] To help this to grow

[00:26:57] And to be something that

[00:26:59] Becomes a staple in the foosball world

    [00:27:01] Very cool

[00:27:03] We're looking forward to it, his biggest thing

    [00:27:05] Is to

    [00:27:07] Get kids in schools

[00:27:09] I remember when I went to France

[00:27:11] We had 4,000 kids come

[00:27:13] In there sitting on bleachers

    [00:27:15] Popping them clappers together

[00:27:17] And cheering for their team as they played

[00:27:19] Fosball it just put shields on my back

[00:27:21] You know, it's really awesome

[00:27:23] And those kids are going to grow up to be

[00:27:25] Fosball players if they stick to it and like it

    [00:27:27] But

[00:27:29] Speaking of the podcast again

    [00:27:31] Tornado took Jason Wicks

[00:27:33] And they went to the boys club

[00:27:35] And boys and girls club over there

    [00:27:37] And had some fun

[00:27:39] With them and that's what it is

[00:27:41] You get the kids interested

[00:27:43] A lot of times the kids come out of trouble

    [00:27:45] Get some playing foosball

[00:27:47] And there you got it

    [00:27:49] About this tournament

    [00:27:51] I can't wait

[00:27:53] I drove up to that boys and girls club event

    [00:27:57] Just to support

[00:27:59] And the president of Tornado

[00:28:01] And Trace Dites were there

[00:28:03] And Jason went up there

[00:28:05] And did that and he was like a kid in the candy store

[00:28:07] He was having a blast with the kids

[00:28:09] No doubt. The kids were just having a

    [00:28:11] Blast playing foosball

[00:28:13] But the key point there is

[00:28:15] Our support from the Tornado factory

[00:28:17] Was at a boys and girls club

    [00:28:19] Running a little tournament

[00:28:21] And they're planning to do a ton more of that

[00:28:23] There you go. So if you don't tell me

    [00:28:25] That that's not a positive step

[00:28:27] In the right direction then

    [00:28:29] I mean that's good stuff

    [00:28:31] I was really impressed

[00:28:33] Glad to see it. Now there was

[00:28:35] That was amazing. Taking it back in time

[00:28:37] A bit. Maybe a year and a half ago

[00:28:39] When Mark Torres had a chance

[00:28:41] To talk to Mr. Stites

[00:28:43] And just in a one on one

[00:28:45] We played it back here on foos talk live

    [00:28:47] And at the time

    [00:28:49] Mr. Stites was saying

[00:28:51] We're looking for tournaments to support

[00:28:53] But we'd prefer to support tournaments

    [00:28:55] With the Swiss format

[00:28:57] Or something akin to that

[00:28:59] Is that still the case? Is that how they feel?

    [00:29:01] I don't think

[00:29:05] They're going to pick and choose that

[00:29:07] Obviously it is their opinion

[00:29:09] That that's the better format

    [00:29:11] To try to

    [00:29:13] Make the player experience

[00:29:15] A little bit better in terms of not having to wait around

[00:29:17] For hours and hours. See Kelly is a shuffleboard player

[00:29:19] And he plays in the shuffleboard leagues

[00:29:21] And they have that same problem

[00:29:23] They go and they go to play their league night

    [00:29:25] And they'll play a couple matches

    [00:29:27] Or they'll play in a tournament

    [00:29:29] And they'll play a couple matches

[00:29:31] And then they'll have to sit around

[00:29:33] For hours and hours and hours

[00:29:35] And then he turns any player off

[00:29:37] I think that's one of the things

    [00:29:39] That have really

[00:29:41] Sparked their interest in trying to do something

[00:29:43] To where it doesn't ruin the player experience

    [00:29:45] Because he told me

[00:29:47] When we're there in the tournament

[00:29:49] And we're playing great for a while

[00:29:51] And then all of a sudden we're sitting

[00:29:53] For four or five or six hours

[00:29:55] It just takes the fun out of it

[00:29:57] So I believe that's why they're looking at other ways

    [00:29:59] And to Mary's credit

    [00:30:01] With her new format

[00:30:03] And they come up with different ways

[00:30:05] To improve the player experience

[00:30:07] So the take away from all that

[00:30:09] Is the good news is

[00:30:11] People are starting to try

[00:30:13] To find ways to make

    [00:30:15] The player experience better

[00:30:17] To make the tournaments run better

[00:30:19] You can't expect to have

[00:30:21] A potential sponsor come show up

[00:30:23] At three or four in the morning

[00:30:25] To watch the finals open doubles

[00:30:27] It ain't going to happen man

    [00:30:29] So I think that's why everybody's

[00:30:31] Really close look at how we can improve formats

[00:30:33] To make the experience better

[00:30:35] Not only for the players but for potential sponsors

    [00:30:42] I'll take you.

    [00:30:44] Yeah, no it's, I think

[00:30:46] Anything that's going to move

[00:30:48] Foosball in the right direction

[00:30:50] Again, we're all foosball players first

    [00:30:52] More than anything else

[00:30:54] I love foosball, I say it all the time

[00:30:56] And all I ever want to do

[00:30:58] I tell people if I was rich

[00:31:00] And I could just play foosball

[00:31:02] Players dream right? So if

[00:31:04] If this is just another opportunity

[00:31:06] To play then I think it's a good thing

[00:31:08] And from a player perspective

    [00:31:10] You know, it's another

[00:31:12] Tournament why would you not go?

[00:31:14] Again for me I'm unable to

    [00:31:16] Because family obligations

[00:31:18] And things of that nature but

[00:31:20] When Mark, excuse me Mark

    [00:31:22] Told us last week

    [00:31:24] That

[00:31:26] When he told us last week

[00:31:28] Well when Mark said last week

[00:31:30] That this was going to be

    [00:31:32] I didn't know, I thought this was a one off

[00:31:34] But knowing now that this is going to be

[00:31:36] The first of many I'm

    [00:31:38] Super excited about it

[00:31:40] I just want to go play

[00:31:42] And the international experience is something

    [00:31:44] I've always wanted

    [00:31:46] I said last week

    [00:31:48] James Spocky

[00:31:50] My buddy was on Team USA

[00:31:52] Last World Cup and we

[00:31:54] Messaged after and he told me

[00:31:56] He said dude you have no idea

[00:31:58] He said it's unbelievable the atmosphere

    [00:32:00] The setup

    [00:32:02] The fans, he had

[00:32:04] Nothing negative, the whole thing

[00:32:06] He said it's like a foosball heaven

[00:32:08] That's literally how he explained it

[00:32:10] So if we can get that

    [00:32:12] On American soil

    [00:32:14] You know and I

[00:32:16] Say a lot of things, I talk a lot

    [00:32:18] I'm on a podcast but I feel like

[00:32:20] Foosball players are so hard

    [00:32:22] To make happy right

[00:32:24] They always find something to complain about

    [00:32:26] But you know with

    [00:32:28] With options I mean

[00:32:30] Find what you like and go support it

    [00:32:32] But you know

[00:32:34] I'm looking forward to the ITS

[00:32:36] Of experience, I am legitimately

    [00:32:38] You're right Randy

    [00:32:40] The thing is players

[00:32:42] What I have learned over the years

    [00:32:44] And I guarantee you

[00:32:46] Donald and Mary and anybody else

    [00:32:48] Could attest to this

[00:32:50] It's literally impossible to make everybody happy

[00:32:52] You try your best to be consistent

[00:32:54] And do the things right

[00:32:56] And make it as good as you can

    [00:32:58] Right

[00:33:00] But now to have some

    [00:33:02] Options and

[00:33:04] Try to take this thing to the next level

    [00:33:06] Is a wonderful opportunity

[00:33:08] I mean it just is for everybody

    [00:33:10] And it's not trying

    [00:33:12] To replace anything

[00:33:14] It's trying to add to what

[00:33:16] We're all trying to accomplish

    [00:33:18] The greater goal is

[00:33:20] Provide some really cool programs

    [00:33:22] And some great tournaments

[00:33:24] And some cool opportunities for the

    [00:33:26] Better players

[00:33:28] This is going to sound really crappy

    [00:33:30] But there's probably a reason

[00:33:32] Why we lost our best player to Europe

    [00:33:34] I mean

[00:33:36] I hate to say that

[00:33:38] But he moved for a reason

[00:33:40] Because he didn't feel like he had opportunity here

    [00:33:42] And we want

    [00:33:44] To change that

[00:33:46] We want there to be opportunity here for our guys

[00:33:48] So that's what this is all about

[00:33:50] To change anything else people are doing

[00:33:52] We want to add to what

[00:33:54] And I keep saying we

[00:33:56] That's why I got involved in this

[00:33:58] Those guys are going to do it

[00:34:00] Donald is going to do it

[00:34:02] Radix is going to do it

[00:34:04] Jason is going to do it

[00:34:06] You guys are going to do it

[00:34:08] But now is our chance to try to build on something

[00:34:10] And get to the next level

    [00:34:12] This is exciting stuff

[00:34:14] So now that we've basically talked about the good stuff

[00:34:16] When it comes to this

[00:34:18] Is there's a different kind of a dress code

    [00:34:20] And the dress code

[00:34:22] This time is relatively strict

    [00:34:24] From what it stands

[00:34:26] It's really just sports attire

[00:34:28] And I guess on the

[00:34:30] Yeah, there you go, like Randy

[00:34:32] Can I share my screen?

    [00:34:34] Yes you can, absolutely

    [00:34:36] Good point though Tom

[00:34:38] That needs to be addressed

[00:34:40] There's a lot of concern about that

[00:34:42] I think people are looking into that

[00:34:44] They're reading into that a little bit more than they should

[00:34:46] Is it to where you pair a pair of athletic shorts

    [00:34:48] And a nice shirt

    [00:34:50] It's not that hard

[00:34:52] You're going to be really comfortable

[00:34:54] And you're going to go man I need to do this more often

[00:34:56] But it's not that hard

    [00:34:58] We're making it difficult

    [00:35:00] So no metallic T-shirts

    [00:35:03] Nothing like that

    [00:35:05] No metallic T-shirts

    [00:35:07] What they want

[00:35:09] The logo on there maybe

    [00:35:11] Okay

    [00:35:13] Well

[00:35:15] I like that when pros are required to wear college shirts

    [00:35:17] Me too

[00:35:19] I think that's something we should bring back

    [00:35:21] Yep

    [00:35:23] Some kind of team's

[00:35:25] It's not going to hurt

    [00:35:27] To put on a team T-shirt

    [00:35:31] A sports shirt

    [00:35:33] Is pretty easy

[00:35:35] Really, it's not that difficult

[00:35:37] It's not like we're asking you to wear

[00:35:39] A tie like the good looking

    [00:35:41] Randy Raposo there

[00:35:43] It's way simpler than everybody's playing into that

[00:35:47] And I don't think that that should

    [00:35:49] Stop you from coming

    [00:35:51] Experience in this

[00:35:53] Going back to the Europe thing Randy

[00:35:55] That was the coolest thing that I've ever experienced

    [00:35:57] And Jim Stevens

[00:35:59] Stevens has been one of my foosball heroes forever

    [00:36:01] And he

[00:36:03] For years told me that I was missing the boat

[00:36:05] And I always found an excuse

[00:36:07] Because I was busy working

[00:36:09] Or whatever the case may be

    [00:36:11] And I really

[00:36:13] I screwed up by not going there sooner

[00:36:15] Because that was the ultimate

    [00:36:17] Food's experience for me

[00:36:19] And that's what we want to build here if we can

[00:36:21] It's going to start slow

[00:36:23] It's not going to be like to that level

[00:36:25] Right out of the gate

[00:36:27] But that's the intention really

[00:36:29] Is to try to make it more

    [00:36:31] Professional for everybody

[00:36:33] And I would forbid we draw some sponsors

    [00:36:35] In the process

    [00:36:37] That's exciting

    [00:36:39] That's just exciting

    [00:36:41] There's going to be a quote-unquote special

[00:36:43] From what I understand now

[00:36:45] I'm not guaranteed that there may be a special logo shirt

    [00:36:47] For foosball radio

    [00:36:49] Just saying

    [00:36:51] Possibly

[00:36:53] If there's not, there will be by tomorrow

    [00:36:55] Yeah

    [00:36:59] Looking forward to that

[00:37:01] So Don if you're having issues

[00:37:03] In just sharing your screen

[00:37:05] Maybe you can just describe for us

[00:37:07] I just shared it up

[00:37:09] Then I took it off

[00:37:11] Yeah, unfortunately wasn't coming up

    [00:37:13] But

[00:37:15] Let me put it up again

    [00:37:17] Maybe on our end

[00:37:19] I don't know if it's something we have to do on this end

    [00:37:21] Make my screen

    [00:37:23] I'm sure that wouldn't hurt a whole lot of people's

    [00:37:25] Feelings I'm sure

[00:37:29] Alright, do y'all see that?

    [00:37:31] It says watch stream

    [00:37:33] Can you press play

    [00:37:35] Or is that

    [00:37:37] Is that not working?

    [00:37:39] I just did a show window

    [00:37:41] Gotcha

[00:37:43] Let me go back here

    [00:37:45] There were two selections

    [00:37:47] It said I could

    [00:37:49] Share screen

    [00:37:51] Chrome tab window

    [00:37:53] Our entire screen

[00:37:55] Let me just hit entire screen

    [00:38:01] How about that?

    [00:38:03] You see my screen?

    [00:38:05] The watch stream

    [00:38:07] How about now?

[00:38:11] Yeah, unfortunately I'm not seeing it

    [00:38:13] Not seeing it

[00:38:15] All I see is your social security account number

[00:38:17] And all your bank information

    [00:38:19] That's right

    [00:38:21] We had to check

[00:38:23] I'm getting out of it

[00:38:25] I'm getting out of it

[00:38:27] Why don't you try to email that to Tom

[00:38:29] And see if he can put it up

[00:38:31] That would love to do that

[00:38:33] But unfortunately I'm in something called OBS Studio

[00:38:35] Which is going to make it difficult for me to do that too

    [00:38:37] But I think

[00:38:39] We can certainly talk about it

[00:38:41] We can talk about it

[00:38:43] Basically I'm looking at the dress code

[00:38:45] You can wear a cap

    [00:38:47] A sports cap

    [00:38:49] A visor, a sweat man

    [00:38:51] Sports shirt, polo shirt

    [00:38:53] Even a foosball jacket

    [00:38:55] Athletic shorts

    [00:38:57] A sports skirt

    [00:38:59] A sweatshirt

    [00:39:01] Shorts, jogging pants

[00:39:03] Jogger pantsuit and tennis shoes

[00:39:05] And this is kind of weird

[00:39:07] You can wear the five finger toes shoes

    [00:39:09] Five finger toe shoes

    [00:39:11] Interesting

    [00:39:13] I have a question

[00:39:15] That I've been asked by several people

    [00:39:17] And they wear like

    [00:39:19] Tornado sports attire

[00:39:21] Like a tornado collared shirt

    [00:39:23] Absolutely, I asked Farid

    [00:39:25] Right off the bat

    [00:39:27] Explained foosball wear

    [00:39:29] He started telling me

    [00:39:31] I said how about

[00:39:33] Any shirt we buy from a foosball tournament

    [00:39:35] He said yes

    [00:39:37] Excellent

[00:39:39] That makes it even easier

[00:39:41] I know everybody has bought a Texas state shirt

[00:39:43] Even a Mississippi state shirt

    [00:39:45] And just tornado shirts

[00:39:47] There should be no problems with that

[00:39:49] The only thing some of them

[00:39:51] Are kicking and screaming about

    [00:39:53] Is wearing blue jeans

[00:39:55] But I tell you what

[00:39:57] If they ever wear some athletic pants

    [00:39:59] They'll actually feel better

    [00:40:01] Because it's hot

[00:40:03] You know, wearing blue jeans playing foosball

    [00:40:05] Jeans in Texas

[00:40:07] Jeans in Texas in May

[00:40:09] My god, you're going to be sweating your nuts off

    [00:40:11] So

    [00:40:13] Foosman95

    [00:40:15] Wants to know

    [00:40:17] He said NFL specifically

    [00:40:19] But pro team jerseys

[00:40:21] Are they considered sports attire

    [00:40:25] I hadn't really thought about that

    [00:40:27] But

    [00:40:29] Wearing sports attire

    [00:40:31] They're mainly

    [00:40:33] Just like

[00:40:35] Not to wear anything with

    [00:40:37] Bawgher wording on there

    [00:40:39] Or

    [00:40:41] Stuff that advertise things

[00:40:43] That you don't want to have on TV

[00:40:45] Because that's the whole thing

[00:40:47] Is this is going to be very

    [00:40:49] In the future

[00:40:51] I know this one has kind of come on us fast

    [00:40:53] But it's like a production

[00:40:55] Overseas they have boom cameras

    [00:40:57] All over the place

[00:40:59] Cameras every position checking everything out

    [00:41:01] Going across the crowd

[00:41:03] They just trying to make it more professional

    [00:41:05] And

    [00:41:07] Like I've said before

[00:41:09] When I'm trying to sell some shirts

[00:41:11] You play better if you look better

[00:41:13] It makes the sport look better

    [00:41:15] That's what they're trying to do

    [00:41:17] They're end goal

[00:41:19] I know people say we've heard this forever

[00:41:21] But the end goal is to eventually

    [00:41:23] Get it sports recognized

    [00:41:25] In our country

[00:41:27] They've already got in double digits

[00:41:29] In order to become an Olympic sport

[00:41:31] You have to have a lot of countries involved

[00:41:33] And it takes time to do that

[00:41:35] So that's something that all federation

[00:41:37] Are working on trying to do

    [00:41:39] And it's just a process

[00:41:41] That's a part of improving your image

    [00:41:43] So

    [00:41:45] During the

    [00:41:47] Let's ask that question

[00:41:49] If sports jerseys are okay

    [00:41:51] You know me

[00:41:53] I like to wear hockey jerseys

    [00:41:55] I'm a big guy

[00:41:57] And they're comfortable for me

[00:41:59] So I like to wear them

    [00:42:01] And obviously

[00:42:03] Other players like to wear

    [00:42:05] Team jerseys

[00:42:07] Or represent their favorite player

[00:42:09] I like what Jason did

    [00:42:11] With the foosball jerseys

[00:42:13] I really wish it would get

    [00:42:15] More traction

    [00:42:17] The foosball jerseys

    [00:42:19] We'll give it time

    [00:42:21] Yeah, and so

    [00:42:23] Foozman had another question

[00:42:25] Getting back to the tables

[00:42:27] He's already asking about buying

    [00:42:29] Yeah, buying a table

[00:42:31] Yeah, he's wanting to know

[00:42:33] How he gets his hands on one of these bad boys

[00:42:37] So if this all happens

    [00:42:39] If this all happens

    [00:42:41] I spoke with Trey

[00:42:43] Just a few moments ago

    [00:42:45] And

[00:42:47] The first plan was they were going to keep them all

    [00:42:49] But

    [00:42:51] He's going to agree

    [00:42:53] To put maybe

    [00:42:55] 20 or 25 up for sale

    [00:42:57] If people want them

    [00:42:59] And

[00:43:01] He didn't give me the price yet

[00:43:03] But I'm sure it's going to be reasonable

    [00:43:05] Nice

[00:43:07] But it looks like half the fleet will be

    [00:43:09] Up for sale

    [00:43:11] Anybody

[00:43:13] That can forget about getting number one

[00:43:15] I'm getting number one off the fleet

[00:43:17] Well then saving number two

    [00:43:19] Yeah, okay

[00:43:21] Whoever beats me to number one is fine

[00:43:23] But look that'll be kind of cool

[00:43:25] They'll have memorial plaques on there

[00:43:27] Kind of talking about the very first

[00:43:29] ITSF World Series in the state

    [00:43:31] So it's probably

[00:43:33] A pretty good buy for yourself

    [00:43:35] But it sounds like

[00:43:37] The factory is going to go ahead

[00:43:39] And put half of those up for sale

    [00:43:41] And so we'll see

[00:43:43] What happens as soon as I can get some pricing

[00:43:45] For everybody I'll let you know

    [00:43:47] Very cool

    [00:43:49] So Mr. Donald

[00:43:51] Where and how do I go

[00:43:53] To sign up if I want to play

    [00:43:55] In this event

    [00:43:57] Okay, yeah, good question

[00:43:59] Before I get into the

[00:44:01] The way the tournament is going to be played

    [00:44:03] In the

    [00:44:05] With the round robins

    [00:44:07] Well, the SWIS system

[00:44:09] The first thing you have to do is register

[00:44:11] And since my screen is not

    [00:44:13] Sharing

    [00:44:15] Basically

[00:44:17] I'm still going to pull it up even though

    [00:44:19] You won't see me

    [00:44:21] There's a website

    [00:44:23] And it's

    [00:44:25] Called app

    [00:44:27] At tablesoccer.org

    [00:44:31] App.tablesoccer.org

[00:44:35] And when you enter that, it goes to

    [00:44:37] Coral powered by ITSF

[00:44:39] And it's asking you to sign in

[00:44:41] But that's if you have an account

    [00:44:43] Okay

[00:44:45] Hold on Mr. Donald, I'm going to share

[00:44:47] The app, I'm going to share the website

    [00:44:49] In our twitch feed

    [00:44:51] App.app

    [00:44:53] Tablesoccer.org

    [00:44:57] Dot.org

    [00:44:59] RG

    [00:45:01] App.org

[00:45:03] Another thing you might want to hit on

    [00:45:05] Is I know that

    [00:45:07] You, Mark and Maryam

    [00:45:09] Do another podcast

[00:45:11] And go over this specific information right here

[00:45:13] Because there is some confusion out there

[00:45:15] And I think they're not going to do it

[00:45:17] Just once, they're going to do it a couple

[00:45:19] Times. Go over from start

[00:45:21] To finish what you need to do to register

[00:45:23] What you could play so on and so forth

[00:45:25] All the need to know stuff

[00:45:27] So they're going to do that in the next

    [00:45:29] Few days, Tom

    [00:45:31] I got 10 people

[00:45:33] I signed up today just from

[00:45:35] Entering stuff in the preview

[00:45:37] Do you see on your screen where it's got coral?

    [00:45:41] No

    [00:45:43] So, it's um

[00:45:45] I'm pulling it up right now

[00:45:47] Ready to go into it right now

    [00:45:51] App.app

[00:45:53] Yeah, I was figuring the reason I couldn't share

[00:45:55] My screen because probably it has to be

[00:45:57] One of you two that can do it

    [00:45:59] That's a manager or whatever

    [00:46:01] No, I don't do that

    [00:46:03] I'm retarded, I don't mess with this stuff

    [00:46:05] I'm just looking, that's all I am

    [00:46:07] I'm just a face and a voice

[00:46:09] So, let me go over to my

    [00:46:15] App Store

[00:46:17] Is that something I can do?

    [00:46:19] What I did

    [00:46:21] Is I bookmarked it

[00:46:23] And then I saved it to my

[00:46:25] Trade under the bottom, so I just click on it

    [00:46:27] And I'm on

[00:46:29] Same thing on my phone

[00:46:31] I bookmarked it on my phone

[00:46:33] And attached the app to my

[00:46:35] Phone. Now I just click on that

[00:46:37] little app button and boom, you're there.

[00:46:40] App dot table soccer and table or yes.

    [00:46:45] No, I'm nuts.

    [00:46:46] I wrote.com.

    [00:46:49] Told you.

    [00:46:49] I told you.

    [00:46:51] I told you.

[00:46:52] Uh, now you see coral, right?

    [00:46:56] We've got movement.

    [00:46:57] Let's see.

[00:46:58] Coral sports, the coral sports app terms, conditions, one

    [00:47:02] account, multiple apps.

    [00:47:04] Yes, sir.

[00:47:04] So just click on coral.

    [00:47:07] Oh, coral.

    [00:47:08] Yes.

[00:47:09] So I don't know if you guys hold on.

[00:47:10] Let me shut this light.

[00:47:12] Hey, you probably can't see it, but it's up there.

    [00:47:15] Coral sports.

    [00:47:15] Okay.

    [00:47:16] There.

[00:47:16] Now here's what you do when you pull up coral, you scroll

[00:47:20] down to where it says take over account.

    [00:47:23] Okay.

    [00:47:25] Have you done that?

    [00:47:26] No, sir.

    [00:47:27] It's loading.

    [00:47:29] It's taking it's very much sweet.

    [00:47:32] You're in Alabama.

[00:47:35] That's got nothing to do with it.

    [00:47:36] We have Wi-Fi down.

    [00:47:37] Well, I mean, I know you'll have a lot of mountains.

[00:47:39] If you're on the top of the mountain, it probably rock real

[00:47:41] fast if you're in a valley, it might take a minute.

[00:47:43] Oh, I'm on a flat street in a neighborhood and there's no

    [00:47:47] nothing bad against Alabama.

    [00:47:49] I don't know, man.

    [00:47:50] I don't know.

[00:47:51] We can start it here.

[00:47:53] I played a lot of foosball in Alabama.

[00:47:54] I like my Alabama people.

    [00:47:56] Yeah, we're okay.

[00:47:57] I tell you what, when I got broke down inside the road,

[00:48:00] I had just about all the Alabama foosball players

[00:48:02] wanting to come help me.

    [00:48:02] Nice.

    [00:48:03] I mean, that's what we do.

[00:48:06] And that's what they did.

    [00:48:08] What do you need?

    [00:48:08] We got you.

[00:48:09] This is taking a lot of, let me see, let me cut my Wi-Fi off.

[00:48:12] Maybe that's why I'm meeting up a lot of bandwidth.

[00:48:18] Yeah, I went into the here we go.

[00:48:20] OK, so it says sign in and it says create an account next.

[00:48:24] And this is take over account.

[00:48:25] You got to scroll down.

[00:48:26] Yeah, down at the bottom, you click take over take over

[00:48:29] account. OK, and now it gives me take over an existing

[00:48:32] account and then I got to follow the information.

[00:48:34] All you know, no, no, just do your last name and first

[00:48:37] name. Last name and first name.

    [00:48:39] OK.

[00:48:41] And then down at the bottom, hit search.

    [00:48:43] Search.

[00:48:45] Randy Reposo, that's me right there.

    [00:48:47] And then just.

[00:48:49] Yes, you'll see your name, Randy Reposo, and off to the

[00:48:51] right in green to say recover or blue or whatever.

    [00:48:55] Click on that.

    [00:48:56] OK.

[00:48:57] And then it's going to ask for your email.

    [00:48:59] Yes, sir.

    [00:49:01] My email address here.

    [00:49:05] OK.

    [00:49:06] And then hit send.

    [00:49:07] And then you submit.

    [00:49:09] Success.

[00:49:09] Your request has been sent successfully to representatives

[00:49:12] of your National Federation and will be reviewed as soon as

[00:49:14] possible once information is confirmed by your National

    [00:49:17] Federation representative.

[00:49:18] You will receive an email with the next steps to take over

    [00:49:21] the account.

    [00:49:22] OK, that's me. Bingo.

[00:49:24] Yes. So now so now I have my app up here and I see you

    [00:49:28] just requested.

[00:49:29] So I'm going to go on here.

    [00:49:30] Yes, sir.

[00:49:30] I'm going to highlight it and we have four people doing

[00:49:33] this myself, Mariam, Jerry Todd and Christian Grogan.

[00:49:38] So I'm going to click on here.

[00:49:39] I want to look at your email address, make sure that's

[00:49:41] correct. I'm going to hit approve.

[00:49:43] Then I'm going to put.

[00:49:45] Your request has been approved.

[00:49:51] And it's as simple as that.

[00:49:52] Now just hit approved sending you an email and what that

[00:49:56] email you get back is going to tell you to do is to

    [00:49:58] reset your password.

[00:50:02] There's a speech interface in that app.

    [00:50:03] That's pretty cool.

[00:50:08] You do and talk to text.

[00:50:09] Is that what you're doing?

[00:50:10] I did talk to text.

    [00:50:12] That's right.

    [00:50:12] There you go.

[00:50:16] But thanks you time for helping helping me feel

    [00:50:19] smart for a minute.

    [00:50:19] Oh, absolutely.

    [00:50:20] And there it is.

    [00:50:22] There it is.

[00:50:22] I've already got my email back.

    [00:50:24] Welcome.

[00:50:25] OK, and yeah, and then you just set your what you do

[00:50:28] is you reset your password and then you have your

[00:50:30] own profile where you can go into your profile, make

[00:50:33] sure your date of birth and everything's right

[00:50:35] because if it's not, it won't let you sign up

    [00:50:36] for senior.

[00:50:38] And if you're young, it won't let you sign up

    [00:50:39] for junior.

[00:50:40] So you need to make sure and check your check your

[00:50:42] your date of birth and everything.

[00:50:45] But let me let me know when you get all the way in

[00:50:47] there and you log back in with your new password

    [00:50:49] you said.

    [00:50:50] Yes, sir.

    [00:50:51] Doing it right now.

[00:50:56] And this, by the way, once once this is all done,

[00:50:59] you can basically sign up for any event that well,

[00:51:02] not any event, but events that you qualify for.

[00:51:04] What kind of what kind of point system is being

    [00:51:06] used, if any?

[00:51:09] Well, they that's the thing about it.

[00:51:11] They do race points each year.

[00:51:13] Okay, get the number one ranking.

[00:51:15] And so they don't really go by points that go by

[00:51:20] male female senior junior and they don't really

[00:51:24] break it down into different ranks.

    [00:51:26] Oh, good.

[00:51:26] However, however, just for this tournament

[00:51:30] and and for read wants to make players in the

    [00:51:32] United States happy.

[00:51:33] So he's doing a pro doubles for pro and expert

[00:51:37] and then he's doing an amateur doubles for

    [00:51:39] amateur and rookie.

[00:51:41] And course beginners, but and that's by IFP

    [00:51:44] points or USA points.

[00:51:46] And and so that's on the last day, Monday.

[00:51:51] And it's the same time as open mix of your

    [00:51:53] play open mix.

[00:51:53] You can't do the pro or amateur, but but he

[00:51:56] did that for the players that's used to

[00:51:58] play in categories like that.

[00:51:59] Okay, he said at one time they were

[00:52:01] categories and then they swapped to this

[00:52:02] system and now they can't even remember back

[00:52:04] when they used to do the different levels.

    [00:52:07] Interesting.

[00:52:07] The range you get signed in.

    [00:52:09] Yes, sir.

[00:52:11] All right, you see where it says joint

    [00:52:12] tournament in blue.

    [00:52:17] Right underneath your name.

    [00:52:18] I'm in my profile.

    [00:52:19] Yes, sir.

    [00:52:19] Joint tournament.

    [00:52:20] All right.

[00:52:21] Hit joint tournament and then after you hit

[00:52:24] joint tournament, it has suggestions, search

    [00:52:26] results.

[00:52:27] Well, you scroll all the way down to you

[00:52:29] find World Series Tordado 2024 World Series

[00:52:33] tornado 2024 Irving Irving or is it Irvine?

[00:52:39] Steve, there it is Irving.

    [00:52:43] Irving or Irvine.

[00:52:47] You're on mute there, Steve.

    [00:52:52] You muted your microphone.

[00:52:54] Yeah, we got four little kids

[00:53:03] moving the crap out of it.

    [00:53:04] It's Irving.

    [00:53:04] Irving, okay.

    [00:53:06] Irving is Irving.

    [00:53:06] I know it's Irving Texas.

    [00:53:08] Sorry about that.

    [00:53:10] No, you're fine.

[00:53:10] So it's World Series Tornado 2024 Irving

    [00:53:14] 24 May.

    [00:53:15] Yeah, click on that.

    [00:53:16] Click on this one.

[00:53:17] Right now you see all them all

    [00:53:18] them events down there.

    [00:53:19] Yes, sir.

[00:53:21] That's the ones you can play in.

    [00:53:23] But some of them.

[00:53:25] I can play an amateur doubles.

[00:53:28] Well, if you're an amateur on IP,

    [00:53:30] that's something we'll have to manually

[00:53:31] look up because they don't have points

    [00:53:32] on coral.

[00:53:34] We'll have to manually look at a.

[00:53:36] I see you smile and know you can't play

    [00:53:37] amateur.

[00:53:39] But anyway, but anyway, just just to let

    [00:53:43] you know, if you're a senior,

[00:53:45] the senior events will show up

[00:53:46] and you have your choice of senior

    [00:53:47] men's fame for women.

[00:53:49] You know, you have your choice.

[00:53:51] But on one day you can play classic

[00:53:53] doubles, whichever division you qualify

[00:53:55] in the next day will be maybe singles.

[00:53:58] In the next day will be doubles.

[00:54:00] And then the last day will be mixed

[00:54:02] in the national team competition

    [00:54:05] and Costa Rica.

[00:54:06] They notified me last night and they

[00:54:08] have six people ready to play from

[00:54:10] Costa Rica in the men's open.

    [00:54:12] Nice national team events.

[00:54:14] So I know that's going to be one

    [00:54:16] team plus USA.

    [00:54:17] That's two.

[00:54:17] We just need two more about Canada.

    [00:54:19] I'll get back.

    [00:54:21] I haven't heard from them yet,

[00:54:22] but I'll get back into that.

[00:54:23] Now, Randy, when you go down to the

[00:54:24] bottom of it, do you see a house

[00:54:26] for home and you see a crowd of people

    [00:54:29] there?

[00:54:29] Click on the crowd of people.

[00:54:33] Oh, it shows everybody that shows

[00:54:35] you everybody and what country they're

    [00:54:38] from.

    [00:54:39] I mean, I see Canada, Germany.

    [00:54:42] I see I see a bunch of them.

[00:54:48] But you can see where everybody's from.

    [00:54:51] That's awesome.

    [00:54:53] Wow.

    [00:54:54] Wow.

[00:54:55] This is this is this is good.

    [00:54:57] This is pretty sweet.

[00:54:59] Yeah, so far I see like four or five

    [00:55:02] different countries.

    [00:55:03] Yeah, there's a bunch here.

    [00:55:06] So I see Tony's freedom.

    [00:55:11] Oh yeah.

[00:55:12] Now right next to that, you'll see a cup.

[00:55:14] You see a cup down on the bottom.

    [00:55:16] Yes, sir.

[00:55:18] When you click on cup, that shows you

    [00:55:19] the different competitions.

[00:55:21] The dates, the dates and the

    [00:55:23] competitions.

    [00:55:24] Yep.

    [00:55:25] Awesome.

    [00:55:25] Yeah.

[00:55:25] Now, now say for example, if you wanted

    [00:55:27] to see the results,

    [00:55:29] yep, there'll be a different section

[00:55:30] you go in there and look at that.

[00:55:31] But right now it's telling how to

[00:55:32] tell you how many people are in

    [00:55:33] each event so far.

[00:55:35] Now, I know somebody got on the

[00:55:37] internet and was kind of talking

[00:55:39] about man, we only got so many

    [00:55:40] people.

[00:55:41] There's a lot of people that signed

[00:55:42] up, but they haven't selected

    [00:55:44] their events yet.

    [00:55:46] See, yeah.

[00:55:47] And then there's a lot of people

[00:55:48] signed up for doubles who haven't

    [00:55:49] selected their partners yet.

[00:55:51] Yeah, those numbers will change as

[00:55:52] soon as everybody completes the

    [00:55:53] registration.

[00:55:54] But you see how easy it was for you

    [00:55:56] to sign up?

[00:55:57] It only took a couple of minutes.

    [00:55:58] It wasn't bad.

    [00:55:59] Yeah.

[00:55:59] And see what's going on is when

[00:56:01] I signed up my first time, I

[00:56:03] was one of the first ones that

[00:56:04] signed up and I did it.

[00:56:06] I put my name, my ITSF number.

[00:56:08] I chose USTSO as my national

[00:56:11] and I hit enter and it was

    [00:56:13] saying player not found.

    [00:56:15] Okay.

[00:56:15] And I'm like, well, I know my

    [00:56:17] ITSF number.

[00:56:18] So I did it a couple more times.

    [00:56:20] Didn't work.

[00:56:20] So I just put my name and hit

[00:56:21] search and it popped up down there.

[00:56:22] I said, hey, there we go.

[00:56:24] And I hit recover or take over

[00:56:26] and then boom, I was in.

[00:56:28] So I'm just telling people just

[00:56:29] just take over, put your name

[00:56:32] in, give them your email and

[00:56:34] it'll come right back to you.

    [00:56:35] It's good to go.

    [00:56:35] Where you go?

[00:56:36] Now if somebody knew you'll

[00:56:37] create the account and go

    [00:56:39] through that process.

[00:56:40] That was a cool thing on the

    [00:56:43] home screen.

[00:56:44] Sorry, Tom, but I they got

[00:56:46] this thing on the home screen.

    [00:56:47] Super cool.

    [00:56:48] Countdown to start 11 days, 13

[00:56:50] hours, three minutes and seven

    [00:56:51] seconds.

    [00:56:52] Sweet.

    [00:56:52] Yeah.

[00:56:53] And you know something else too?

[00:56:56] Let me get back on mine.

    [00:56:57] This is so cool.

[00:56:58] You really do need a phone for

    [00:57:00] this.

    [00:57:00] OK.

[00:57:01] Now go back to that home

[00:57:03] screen where it's where you

[00:57:04] see where it says join

    [00:57:05] tournament.

    [00:57:13] It's on.

[00:57:14] It takes a little bit.

[00:57:15] I'm not not if you hit the

[00:57:17] wrong button, you'll have to

    [00:57:18] re log in.

[00:57:18] But let me just show you.

    [00:57:20] I just got a couple of

[00:57:20] questions I want to ask about

[00:57:22] what I'm on the floor is

    [00:57:23] stuff.

[00:57:24] First of all, Don is does this

[00:57:26] software have the ability to

[00:57:27] like text me and let me know if

    [00:57:29] I'm up on a table?

    [00:57:29] Yes.

    [00:57:30] Yes.

    [00:57:30] Oh yeah.

    [00:57:31] And check this out.

[00:57:33] You can't see it here.

[00:57:34] I'm trying to do it at an

    [00:57:35] angle.

[00:57:36] But once you get on the login

[00:57:37] place where you hit join

[00:57:37] tournament, you can scroll down

    [00:57:39] the bottom.

[00:57:40] You see how where has your

[00:57:41] picture and then it has

    [00:57:43] verses and whoever.

[00:57:45] When it's time for you to

    [00:57:46] play, you'll see who you're

    [00:57:47] playing.

    [00:57:47] OK.

[00:57:49] And you'll do your results on

    [00:57:50] your phone.

    [00:57:51] Oh nice.

    [00:57:52] OK.

    [00:57:52] And yeah, everything.

[00:57:53] Everything's going to be driven

    [00:57:55] by your phone.

[00:57:56] And then it's going to give you

[00:57:57] rankings and then it's going to

    [00:57:59] show your positioning.

[00:58:00] And once you once you get into

[00:58:03] this and they start really

[00:58:05] going at it, this is like a

[00:58:07] you can create your own

    [00:58:08] homepage and put different

    [00:58:10] things on it.

[00:58:10] Like if you want to know who

[00:58:11] the current top three people

[00:58:12] are in that in your division,

[00:58:14] you can have it show up on

    [00:58:15] there.

    [00:58:15] There's a lot of customizing

[00:58:16] you can do with this.

    [00:58:18] And they're just they're just

    [00:58:19] getting started with this.

[00:58:21] You can join a club.

[00:58:23] You can create a club.

    [00:58:25] And that's why that's why we've

[00:58:27] been waiting for this to come

[00:58:28] out to get our club system

    [00:58:29] going for adults.

[00:58:30] So that's going to take off

    [00:58:31] real soon.

    [00:58:31] Sure.

    [00:58:32] So that's that's going good.

[00:58:34] But yeah, it's just a lot of

    [00:58:37] stuff.

[00:58:38] He has a lot of stuff here.

[00:58:39] Wouldn't it be somebody else

    [00:58:41] for the future?

[00:58:42] Wouldn't it be cool for an

[00:58:43] event like this to say, hey,

[00:58:45] Jim Waterman must have been

    [00:58:46] watching.

    [00:58:47] Jim Waterman signed up.

    [00:58:48] Nice.

    [00:58:48] That's awesome.

    [00:58:49] Welcome, Jim.

    [00:58:50] Hold on.

    [00:58:51] Stop interrupting Donald.

[00:58:53] Wouldn't it be cool, though?

[00:58:55] If let's say next year,

[00:58:56] at the same time we have clubs

    [00:58:57] like I don't know the five

[00:58:58] went eight foosball club with

[00:59:00] with a team there to represent.

[00:59:03] Would that be something they

[00:59:04] would they would get into?

[00:59:08] Well, you know, we have the

    [00:59:10] USTSO championships each year.

    [00:59:12] Yep.

[00:59:12] And and you know, if they

[00:59:15] had at Nationals, I have

[00:59:16] the North America Cup, which

[00:59:18] is all the clubs from around

[00:59:20] that they put together all star

    [00:59:21] team.

    [00:59:21] Got you.

[00:59:22] Well, what would be neat is for

[00:59:24] each state that has multiple

[00:59:26] teams, let them have some kind

[00:59:28] of, you know, championship top

[00:59:30] two teams come and participate

    [00:59:32] in a club championship.

[00:59:33] And we would love to see it

[00:59:34] all tied in with USTSO.

[00:59:36] And just whenever we have say

    [00:59:38] like a USTSO championship,

[00:59:40] pretty soon it's going to be

[00:59:41] its own tournament, you know,

[00:59:43] be hosted by USTSO and ran

    [00:59:45] by USTSO.

[00:59:46] But right now we're having

[00:59:47] to piggyback off of the

    [00:59:48] tournament just because of

[00:59:49] tables and costs and all that

    [00:59:50] kind of stuff.

    [00:59:51] Sure.

[00:59:51] But now with some new things

[00:59:53] coming in the picture pretty soon,

[00:59:55] we might be able to start

    [00:59:56] doing this ourselves.

[00:59:58] And you know, if we have two

    [00:59:59] teams from each state

[01:00:00] representing now you have almost

[01:00:02] a hundred teams competing that.

[01:00:04] I mean, that would yeah, that

[01:00:05] would fill up a whole weekend

    [01:00:06] right there.

    [01:00:07] No kidding.

    [01:00:07] There's a lot of possibility.

    [01:00:09] And that's that's what Steve

    [01:00:10] was saying.

[01:00:11] This is a golden opportunity to

[01:00:12] have this here because it's

[01:00:14] just going to open the door for

    [01:00:15] more things.

[01:00:16] It's going to be super good.

[01:00:18] Some of those type of events

[01:00:20] are on the drawing board,

    [01:00:22] Tom.

    [01:00:23] Excellent.

    [01:00:23] They absolutely are.

    [01:00:24] Very nice.

[01:00:25] Yeah, I keep going back to

[01:00:27] the same moment when we used to

[01:00:29] do the New York State

[01:00:30] Championships here and we had

[01:00:31] something called the New York

    [01:00:32] Cup.

[01:00:33] And we had this one tournament.

    [01:00:35] I think it was 2014, 2015 in

    [01:00:37] Albany.

[01:00:37] And it was different cities

    [01:00:39] that fielded a team.

    [01:00:41] And we had Montreal.

    [01:00:43] We had Syracuse, Rochester,

[01:00:45] Albany, a bunch of different

    [01:00:46] teams.

[01:00:47] And it was the most exciting

    [01:00:48] thing because everybody was

    [01:00:49] cheering for their team.

    [01:00:50] There was a everybody

    [01:00:52] watched everybody watched.

[01:00:54] Yeah, all you want to hear.

[01:00:56] Mary's been doing that for years.

[01:00:57] Yeah, Mary's had the North

[01:00:59] American Cup for years and

    [01:01:00] everybody loves that event.

    [01:01:02] Yep.

    [01:01:02] Exactly right.

[01:01:03] So yeah, that that is

    [01:01:05] that's the whole thing.

    [01:01:06] That's that's what this whole

[01:01:07] programs about is to develop

[01:01:10] those type programs and just

[01:01:13] get more and more people

[01:01:14] involved in and make it

    [01:01:16] competitive within your

[01:01:17] own states and then nationally

[01:01:19] and so on and so forth.

[01:01:21] Yeah, that's exactly what is

[01:01:23] going to cause the growth that

[01:01:24] we need to attract the

    [01:01:25] sponsors.

[01:01:27] Well, and Steve can tell you

    [01:01:29] when you're playing like it's

    [01:01:30] USA against somebody else,

[01:01:32] it's not just USA cheering for

[01:01:34] you. We done we done got other

[01:01:35] countries and fell in love

[01:01:36] with USA and they'll be

[01:01:37] cheering for us and they'll

[01:01:38] be cheering for the other home

[01:01:40] team, you know, Germany or

[01:01:41] France or Spain or whoever.

[01:01:43] And it's just a lot of fun.

    [01:01:44] We're you know, we're competing

[01:01:46] and we're getting at it.

[01:01:47] But at the end they all get

[01:01:48] together and hang out and just

    [01:01:50] have a good time.

    [01:01:51] And that's but I know I'm

[01:01:52] looking at the time and I

    [01:01:53] noticed for running short,

[01:01:54] but I definitely want to tell

[01:01:55] you about the format of

    [01:01:58] the tournament.

    [01:01:59] Yes.

    [01:01:59] Right.

[01:02:00] OK, well, you get you get

    [01:02:02] signed up.

[01:02:03] Everyone time time is from

[01:02:06] 10 to two will have the

[01:02:09] around Robbins or the Swiss

    [01:02:11] program.

[01:02:12] So five and everyone's going

[01:02:13] to play five two out of three

[01:02:15] matches and not just five games

    [01:02:17] race to seven.

[01:02:19] We talking five two out of

    [01:02:20] threes.

    [01:02:21] Wow.

[01:02:22] So, you know, if you if you

[01:02:24] go to tournament used to go

[01:02:25] down too straight, guess what?

[01:02:27] You fix to play three more

    [01:02:28] matches than what you

    [01:02:28] normally do.

[01:02:29] And this is just the way it

    [01:02:31] is.

[01:02:31] If the first two the first

    [01:02:33] round is random.

    [01:02:34] You don't know who you're

    [01:02:35] playing against this.

[01:02:36] This the second round all

[01:02:38] the one winners play other

    [01:02:40] one winners.

[01:02:41] All the all the no.

[01:02:43] I hate to call losers, but the

    [01:02:44] one who haven't won a game.

[01:02:45] Play other teams that haven't

[01:02:46] won a game and it keeps going

[01:02:48] out and strategizing until you

[01:02:50] play your five then it puts

    [01:02:51] them in brackets.

[01:02:53] If we have over 32 teams in

[01:02:55] an event, they will go to

[01:02:56] let's say bracket one, which

    [01:02:59] is the main championship

[01:03:00] bracket where they play for

    [01:03:01] money.

[01:03:02] And if you didn't make the top

[01:03:03] 32, you go into another

    [01:03:05] knockout bracket.

    [01:03:06] We'll call that B.

[01:03:08] OK, our number two and

    [01:03:09] they'll play the same

    [01:03:10] knockout tournament against

[01:03:12] those players that are under

[01:03:14] who wins and they play for

    [01:03:16] medals.

[01:03:16] The first one they play for

[01:03:18] money and awards, of course,

[01:03:20] but that's an every event.

    [01:03:21] You're guaranteed six matches

    [01:03:23] per event.

    [01:03:24] Wow.

[01:03:24] And if you sign up for all four

    [01:03:26] events, that's 24 matches

    [01:03:30] you're going to play.

    [01:03:30] It's a lot.

    [01:03:31] Probably more people play.

    [01:03:33] Yeah.

    [01:03:34] Yeah.

    [01:03:34] No kid.

    [01:03:34] That's probably more people

    [01:03:36] play.

    [01:03:37] Yeah.

[01:03:38] And so, you know, you win

    [01:03:41] matches.

[01:03:41] Of course, you're going to keep

[01:03:42] playing on, you know, sure.

[01:03:43] But 32 team is a cutoff for the

[01:03:46] chart now if we have over 64

[01:03:48] people and they go to a 64 team

[01:03:50] chart and then the chart down

[01:03:51] for the for the second group

    [01:03:53] group B.

    [01:03:54] But there's a lot of foosball

    [01:03:55] going to be played.

    [01:03:56] So just because it's a new

[01:03:57] format, don't let it bother

    [01:03:58] him.

[01:03:59] You're going just like Texas

[01:04:00] State when they had their first

    [01:04:01] modified Swiss.

[01:04:05] People didn't watch the spec,

[01:04:06] but they got to play five

[01:04:08] rounds, you know, and that's

    [01:04:10] a lot of foosball.

[01:04:11] So just imagine doing that

    [01:04:12] again four different times.

[01:04:14] So you're going to have your

[01:04:16] play on somebody who's not used

[01:04:17] to playing a lot better get

[01:04:18] ready because you're going to

[01:04:18] play a lot, you know.

[01:04:20] Plus if you get knocked out

    [01:04:22] early every night they're

    [01:04:24] going to have a D.Y.P.

[01:04:25] But you can only play if you

[01:04:26] been knocked out of all other

    [01:04:27] events.

    [01:04:28] Okay.

[01:04:28] So they're adding some draws

    [01:04:30] each night.

[01:04:30] Maybe you draw somebody from

[01:04:32] out of the country and learn

[01:04:34] and have fun and make new

    [01:04:36] friends.

[01:04:37] And this is just going to

    [01:04:38] be a good tournament.

    [01:04:41] It's a great opportunity to.

    [01:04:43] So I'm excited.

    [01:04:46] I can't wait.

[01:04:48] So the time is right.

[01:04:49] The time is now really.

[01:04:52] The energy just judging from

    [01:04:54] what was happening.

[01:04:55] Don, you and I hanging out

[01:04:57] Randy hanging out at TKO.

[01:04:58] The energy in that room was

    [01:05:00] palpable.

[01:05:01] We could tell how people are

    [01:05:03] excited about playing again.

[01:05:04] And of course when I went to

[01:05:06] Texas State a couple of years

[01:05:07] ago that the energy right

    [01:05:09] after COVID was palpable.

[01:05:10] You could feel how people are

[01:05:12] just they just need to play.

[01:05:13] So I think this is this is the

[01:05:15] time is right to do this.

    [01:05:16] I T S F sponsored event.

[01:05:19] I think this is the right time.

[01:05:20] So looking forward to that.

[01:05:21] You can thank Texas State

[01:05:23] for giving on that weekend.

[01:05:24] Have the very first one.

[01:05:26] And they saw the opportunity

    [01:05:28] and grabbed it.

[01:05:29] And you know there's only

[01:05:30] one first and it's going to

[01:05:32] be here and everybody that

    [01:05:35] works Texas State.

    [01:05:36] They're working this tournament

    [01:05:38] as well.

[01:05:38] You know I asked as soon as

[01:05:40] they told me I was going to be

    [01:05:41] tournament director.

[01:05:42] I asked for David Rattie to come

[01:05:44] in and partner with me as a

    [01:05:46] co-turner director.

    [01:05:47] Cool.

[01:05:47] He's going to do that.

[01:05:49] We have some other Texas

[01:05:51] workers going to help with

    [01:05:52] registration and Steve's going

[01:05:54] to run around and make sure

    [01:05:57] everybody's doing what they

    [01:05:57] need to do.

[01:06:00] So we're taking hands and

    [01:06:01] kissing babies.

    [01:06:02] There you go.

    [01:06:03] Nice.

[01:06:04] Nice as it should be.

[01:06:05] So Randy what what do you

[01:06:07] want to wrap things up.

[01:06:08] You want to what would you

[01:06:09] like to ask these guys

[01:06:10] before we let them go.

    [01:06:11] Well I know I know we're about

[01:06:13] to jump off but the the team

[01:06:17] play Team USA that's just

[01:06:21] that that's my last question.

    [01:06:22] How's how's that going to work

    [01:06:23] team selection.

[01:06:25] How's the team play going to

    [01:06:26] work.

[01:06:27] Glad you asked that because

[01:06:29] we put it on Facebook about

    [01:06:30] three weeks ago.

    [01:06:32] Used to we'd have a

[01:06:33] committee of nine to ten

[01:06:35] people and they would have a

[01:06:37] list of names and they would

[01:06:38] pick who they felt like best

[01:06:40] to you know almost best in a

[01:06:44] row and then whoever had the

[01:06:46] most points or least points

[01:06:47] would be number one number two

    [01:06:48] number three.

[01:06:49] And you know with 10 people

    [01:06:51] are so doing it.

[01:06:52] I'm not saying that they

[01:06:53] would you know you got to

[01:06:55] be thinking who's best on the

[01:06:56] five tables who's best on this

    [01:06:59] who's had the experience.

[01:07:00] And so they might not know

[01:07:02] all that you know they

[01:07:03] should and most of them do

[01:07:06] but then you might have

[01:07:06] some that you know what I kind

[01:07:08] of like this and I would like

[01:07:10] to see this person but but now

[01:07:11] the way they're doing it.

    [01:07:12] They're taking USA points

    [01:07:15] that's that's modern foosball

[01:07:16] IP together which are some

    [01:07:19] exciting news about that

[01:07:21] coming up in the short

[01:07:21] future about that IP and

    [01:07:24] modern foosball.

[01:07:25] OK then IF it is F points.

[01:07:29] You know they break people

[01:07:30] each year so we went back

[01:07:32] the last three years looking

[01:07:33] at rankings who the top

[01:07:34] players were and then you look

    [01:07:37] at who has international

    [01:07:38] experience and that's just

[01:07:40] side for saying who has

    [01:07:41] multi table experience.

[01:07:44] So they did a spreadsheet

[01:07:45] they did all that calculated

[01:07:47] all that in who the top three

[01:07:48] players were the top player is

    [01:07:51] considered the captain and

[01:07:53] then the other two are

[01:07:53] co captains and those three

[01:07:55] will be responsible for picking

[01:07:57] the rest of the team.

[01:07:58] Now they're going to want to

[01:08:00] pick who's best and who they

[01:08:01] have a better chance of winning

[01:08:02] because they know who can

[01:08:04] play front who can play goal

[01:08:05] and match up good and compete.

    [01:08:08] They know the players.

[01:08:09] Oh trust me they don't want to

    [01:08:11] pick a losing team.

[01:08:13] They want to pick a winning

[01:08:14] team and that's going to be

    [01:08:15] my pep talk.

    [01:08:16] I'm going to say look you've

[01:08:17] been chosen so you can pick

[01:08:20] friends if you want to but I

[01:08:22] wouldn't want to be the one

    [01:08:23] known about picking a

[01:08:24] losing team I'd go for the

[01:08:25] win you know and I think

[01:08:27] we got a good bunch of top

    [01:08:28] players and that's what

[01:08:28] they would do you know so

[01:08:30] we kind of put it back in

[01:08:31] the players hands who their

[01:08:32] teammates are you know as far

[01:08:34] as making a good core team.

[01:08:36] So when I think that will be

[01:08:39] a good experience for the

[01:08:40] players in itself I think oh

[01:08:42] yeah you know that's exciting

[01:08:43] for them to put that

[01:08:44] responsibility on them and try

[01:08:46] to pick the winning team I

    [01:08:47] think that'll be fun.

    [01:08:49] Absolutely and your next

[01:08:50] question is going to be who

[01:08:51] is it right for this one.

[01:08:54] Well when is it going to be

    [01:08:55] announced.

[01:08:55] Yeah essentially well I received

[01:08:58] an email yesterday and was

[01:09:00] told who all got it.

[01:09:02] And I asked can I put it out

[01:09:03] there and I said they need to

    [01:09:04] contact them first.

[01:09:05] OK and make sure they set what

    [01:09:07] they're doing.

[01:09:08] But even if they even if

[01:09:10] they're like one two or three

[01:09:11] and they're not going to be in

[01:09:12] Texas they can still be one of

[01:09:14] the captains that help choose

[01:09:15] a team but they would just

[01:09:16] choose somebody in their place

[01:09:17] to play just because their

    [01:09:19] captains don't mean they're

    [01:09:20] automatically playing you know

    [01:09:21] it's just they're in charge

    [01:09:22] of selecting a team but it's

[01:09:24] going to be the top three

[01:09:24] players for they better play

[01:09:25] you know because that gives

[01:09:26] them a better chance of

[01:09:28] winning you know so anyway

[01:09:29] that should be announced here

[01:09:30] soon you know I'm hoping I can

[01:09:32] do it like one tomorrow or

    [01:09:36] first of the week.

    [01:09:36] OK.

    [01:09:37] I mean I haven't I haven't got

[01:09:38] an email yet so that's cool.

[01:09:45] But no I look again.

[01:09:47] I get your spam box.

[01:09:49] No it's not it's not in there

    [01:09:51] it ain't coming it's OK.

    [01:09:52] I'm not mad I promise but

    [01:09:54] I'm you know I can't speak

[01:09:57] I'm sure he feels the same

    [01:09:58] way but I'm I'm definitely

[01:10:00] thankful that the both you

[01:10:01] were able to carve out some

[01:10:02] time and come on with us and

[01:10:04] talk about this event this

    [01:10:05] exciting event this this

    [01:10:07] historical event for United

    [01:10:09] States foosball.

[01:10:10] And you know I know unfortunately

[01:10:12] I'm not going to be there but

[01:10:13] I will be watching and

    [01:10:16] I'm very excited and

[01:10:19] looking forward to the future

[01:10:20] of you know the collaboration

[01:10:22] between the IT the ITSF

[01:10:24] and United States foosball so

[01:10:26] thank you gentlemen both for

    [01:10:27] coming on I'm glad I was

[01:10:28] able to talk with both of you

[01:10:30] and spend some time with both of

    [01:10:31] you so thank you.

[01:10:33] And Randy thank you for giving

[01:10:35] us the time to kind of go over

[01:10:36] that I'm not only did I want

[01:10:39] people to feel a little more

    [01:10:40] comfortable about the Texas

[01:10:41] state situation do not worry

[01:10:43] there but I wanted them to

    [01:10:46] get to you.

[01:10:48] I wanted them to embrace

    [01:10:50] this opportunity really you

[01:10:52] know to that's because really

    [01:10:53] that's what it's all about.

    [01:10:55] It's not it's not trying to

    [01:10:56] replace anybody it's it's

[01:10:58] it's a chance for us to take

[01:10:59] another step in the right

[01:11:00] direction and then of course

[01:11:02] I wanted Donald to be on here

    [01:11:03] because he's he's the nuts

[01:11:05] and bolts guy when it comes to

    [01:11:06] format and all registration

    [01:11:08] and that whatnot but

[01:11:10] what I what I can promise you

[01:11:11] guys is you'll have some

    [01:11:13] wonderful playing conditions

    [01:11:15] and it's a great hotel

[01:11:17] and we've done pretty good

[01:11:18] job in the past so

[01:11:20] I'll need to come down and

    [01:11:22] join in.

    [01:11:23] And just just

[01:11:24] and hey can I add something

    [01:11:26] sure.

[01:11:27] If you're not going to if you're

[01:11:28] in Texas and you're not playing

    [01:11:30] come up and watch.

    [01:11:31] There you go.

    [01:11:32] Just check it out.

    [01:11:33] You'll be blown away

[01:11:34] you know and the bleachers

[01:11:36] I'm not going to tell you

[01:11:37] that's going to have to be

    [01:11:38] there to say OK.

    [01:11:40] I just want to confirm a

[01:11:41] rumor Steve maybe you can

    [01:12:08] matches and it's it's going

[01:12:10] to feel like the old days

[01:12:11] but it's going to be the new

    [01:12:12] days.

[01:12:12] And somebody else is going to

    [01:12:13] be great.
