[00:02:15] And wow, what a weekend.

[00:02:18] We are here in Dallas, Texas at the Westin and this has been, I would say easily one of my favorite tournaments.

[00:02:26] If not this year, probably of all time so far.

[00:02:30] Of course I don't have that much experience.

[00:02:33] Anyway, so first of all, I couldn't do this by myself.

[00:02:38] I've got Mike Green back in the house.

    [00:02:41] Mike, what's up?

[00:02:44] Glad to be back, Tom. It's been a while.

    [00:02:46] It has, it has.

[00:02:48] And you've been living life large in Florida.

[00:02:55] Yeah, we just kind of got out of everything for a while and took a break but I'm back baby.

    [00:03:02] Let's roll.

    [00:03:03] Let's do this.

[00:03:05] So of course, and we can't forget the tournament director, one of our favorite people on Foos Talk Live, Donald Wilson is here.

[00:03:14] I can't hear you. These headphones you give me is not working.

    [00:03:19] What's up?

[00:03:20] I'm wondering why he's got this thing sticking out of his ear that is like, oh.

[00:03:23] Oh, that's oh my bad. Oh, hey, I'm sorry.

[00:03:27] Wow. Hey, I'm glad to be here.

    [00:03:29] That's loud. Okay, good.

[00:03:31] Oh, I'm sorry. That was my microphone.

    [00:03:33] Wait a minute.

[00:03:34] That was my microphone voice.

[00:03:35] Can we start with the Sing Elvis again?

    [00:03:38] Nope.

[00:03:42] Well, hey, you know, it's it Donald.

[00:03:44] First of all, I, you know, we got to extend congratulations to you and the team.

    [00:03:48] This is phenomenal.

[00:03:50] Well, this is my first time to ever work in ITSF event.

[00:03:55] I've gone to them overseas and see them running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

    [00:04:01] Just going crazy everywhere.

[00:04:03] And what happened is since then to now they have a new software called Coral.

    [00:04:12] Yeah.

[00:04:13] And now it's like once you get everybody registered in and everything's going,

[00:04:19] it's like we don't have anything to do.

[00:04:22] We just sit there. It calls the matches up.

    [00:04:26] It's that cool.

[00:04:28] I mean, I'm like, wow, looks, I need what we need to do is on the front desk up there.

[00:04:32] We just need to put a bell.

    [00:04:34] OK.

[00:04:35] That way if anybody needs anything, they can ring us and wake us up.

[00:04:39] I mean, no, seriously, though, it's a different experience.

[00:04:43] This is the first time here in USA.

    [00:04:45] Yeah.

[00:04:46] And you know, I didn't know what to expect.

[00:04:48] I'll be totally honest with you.

[00:04:49] I thought they were trying to do it too quick.

    [00:04:52] OK.

[00:04:53] You know, we didn't find out.

[00:04:55] There might have been some talks before USTSO got involved.

    [00:04:58] Yep.

[00:04:59] They were talking about it and we got involved.

[00:05:01] It was less than three months.

[00:05:03] And so I honestly try...

    [00:05:05] Three months?

    [00:05:06] Yeah.

[00:05:07] Let me just, because you've been at this for a long time.

    [00:05:09] Yeah.

[00:05:10] In your right mind, who would actually try to pull off something like this in three months?

    [00:05:14] Well, nobody.

    [00:05:15] Yeah?

[00:05:16] I'm just saying, something this big, it needs a lot of planning, like six months or something, you know, at least.

[00:05:23] Because this is not your pro series, master series, international.

[00:05:28] This is a world series.

    [00:05:30] Right.

[00:05:31] This is like, next up above this would be like the World Cup.

    [00:05:35] OK.

[00:05:36] Or now they have a new thing called the Golden Ticket, which is going to be super good.

[00:05:39] And they're going to explain a lot about that in the future.

    [00:05:41] OK.

[00:05:42] But anyway, yeah, we seriously tried to talk them out and say, look, we ain't having

    [00:05:46] enough time.

[00:05:47] We need to think another date or just wait until 2025.

    [00:05:49] Sure.

[00:05:50] And Fareed told me at the beginning of this year that the ITSF has picked USA to partner with

[00:05:57] and try to help us grow the sport, maybe through having clubs and getting more people playing.

[00:06:06] You know, and I'm sorry, I got distracted.

[00:06:10] See, being a tournament director, you see things like that.

[00:06:12] They just cut some lights off over there and need to see what he's doing.

    [00:06:17] But anyway, it's sorry.

[00:06:18] You know, and that's one of the curses of playing too is being a tournament director.

    [00:06:22] You try to play.

    [00:06:23] There it goes again.

[00:06:25] Trying to play and be tournament director.

[00:06:27] It's hard because when you're at the table, you hear the slightest thing.

[00:06:31] But I will say at this tournament, I have not had anybody get mad.

    [00:06:36] Nice.

[00:06:37] Except for a couple of people.

    [00:06:39] Except for a couple.

    [00:06:40] OK.

[00:06:41] And they got mad because we were through with everything at 1030.

[00:06:45] Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait.

    [00:06:47] OK.

[00:06:48] Back this up for a second.

[00:06:49] We've been through every night by 1030.

    [00:06:51] Yeah.

    [00:06:52] Right out of 11.

[00:06:53] And the problem was the same people that complain about your permit running too late

    [00:06:58] or not.

[00:06:59] No, no, no, no, no.

[00:07:00] Well, see, it's kind of like that.

[00:07:02] So I'm closing down my computer and getting stuff ready and picking all the winners for

[00:07:06] the day, getting ready for the awards ceremony the next day.

[00:07:09] And then after about 30 minutes, I say, all right, you know, it's 11, 10 after 11.

    [00:07:14] Let's go.

    [00:07:15] Yeah.

[00:07:16] I'm like, no, we want to play.

[00:07:17] And I'm like, no, I want to enjoy this.

[00:07:20] And when I get to my room, my wife's like, what are you doing here so early?

    [00:07:23] I said, oh, it's done.

[00:07:25] But anyway, we have six tables out there in the lobby.

[00:07:28] So I ran them out there and they was OK.

    [00:07:30] They was really good.

[00:07:31] I mean, but they teased me a little bit about, come on, man, let us stay in here.

    [00:07:34] I'm like, no.

[00:07:35] So we're talking about this is after everything is over.

[00:07:37] Yeah, this is after everything.

[00:07:38] But during the tournament, let me just tell you something.

[00:07:41] This is when Fareed wanted to do this and he said, I'm not worried about it

    [00:07:45] being three months.

[00:07:46] I don't care if only 100 people show up because those 100 people are going to

[00:07:51] have one of the best experiences ever.

    [00:07:53] Yeah.

    [00:07:54] And so I'm sorry.

    [00:07:57] They're doing it again.

[00:07:58] They're cutting the lights out completely dark and they don't need to do that.

    [00:08:02] They're having fun.

[00:08:03] Let me help Donald out here.

    [00:08:04] We can still see.

[00:08:05] OK, let me let me finish.

    [00:08:06] Let me finish.

    [00:08:07] The audience.

[00:08:08] Let me go ahead and finish.

    [00:08:09] I'm sorry.

[00:08:10] I know we're live and I'll eat up all the time.

[00:08:11] But anyway, what was we talking about?

    [00:08:14] No, I'm just kidding.

[00:08:17] Now, let me say you played the senior division this weekend.

    [00:08:20] I'm just asking.

    [00:08:21] Yeah, I did.

    [00:08:22] All right.

    [00:08:23] And I was man.

[00:08:24] I was on fire at times.

[00:08:25] But then when they take that break.

    [00:08:29] I'm sorry.

[00:08:31] Hey, I know we're live on the radio.

[00:08:34] But you know, when you got to handle some, you got to handle some.

    [00:08:37] So I don't know what they're doing.

    [00:08:40] It's it's it's it's actually TV, too.

    [00:08:43] We're on Twitch TV.

[00:08:44] So there's some of that, too.

[00:08:46] But there's a lot cut in and say one thing.

[00:08:49] If you hear, you know, when people go leave.

    [00:08:52] Hold on.

[00:08:53] I got to go take care of those.

    [00:08:54] All right.

[00:08:55] We got we got a situation here.

[00:08:57] So when people leave this tournament and they go home and they say this or that about this tournament.

    [00:09:03] Yes.

[00:09:04] This is one of the most fun tournaments.

[00:09:06] Oh, I've ever been hands down, hands down.

[00:09:10] No seating in the in the in the qualifying rounds.

[00:09:15] I saw some of the best matches.

    [00:09:17] Yeah.

[00:09:18] Playing like top players playing each other to qualify for these matches.

    [00:09:23] The fierce fierce battles.

[00:09:24] It was just it was a blast.

    [00:09:26] Oh, yeah.

[00:09:27] I would say one of the highlights last last evening was in men's singles.

[00:09:33] Tommy Yor and Stefan and I can't pronounce his last name very well.

[00:09:38] He's from Austria, but Stefan is 17 and he and Tommy your win at it in the finals.

[00:09:45] And Stefan had gone through Ryan Moore, Tony Spraeteman, I think Sam DeJohn.

    [00:09:53] Yes.

[00:09:54] I mean, really tore those guys.

    [00:09:56] They went through.

    [00:09:57] Yes, they went through.

    [00:09:58] Oh, yeah.

    [00:09:59] Yeah.

[00:10:00] So the finals was so thrilling because Stefan was given was matching Tommy the whole time.

[00:10:07] And Tommy had to really you could tell he was working very hard to make that that victory.

[00:10:13] When I watched that match, I thought what a great representation of the future.

    [00:10:16] Oh, yeah.

[00:10:17] You know, we always see Tony and Ryan in the finals.

    [00:10:20] Yada yada yada.

    [00:10:21] Sure.

[00:10:22] And these guys were fearless played incredible foosball and actually I got a little inside scoop, you know, because I room with Tom.

    [00:10:30] You're played with them.

    [00:10:31] So yeah, yeah.

[00:10:32] Actually, Tommy came and said, I'm concerned about this kid, man.

    [00:10:35] Yeah.

    [00:10:36] I don't know.

    [00:10:37] He's playing incredible.

    [00:10:38] Yada yada yada.

    [00:10:39] Yep.

[00:10:40] You know, and so, yeah, I mean, wow.

[00:10:43] Hats off to that kid.

    [00:10:44] Seventeen years old.

[00:10:45] And he I saw him shoot on Ryan Moore from the back.

[00:10:49] He had four pushes in a row in the same spot.

    [00:10:51] Nobody does that.

    [00:10:52] Wow.

    [00:10:53] Yeah, right. Exactly.

[00:10:54] I mean, just Ryan is just like lost in his defense.

[00:10:57] And then he turns around after that match.

[00:10:59] The guy never breaks a sweat and then plays Tony.

[00:11:01] That was the amazing thing that Stefan had had boundless energy.

[00:11:06] I mean, 17, of course, but he didn't seem to wear down.

    [00:11:10] He just kept going.

[00:11:11] Just that he wore didn't wear down.

    [00:11:13] He just never.

[00:11:16] Oh, the lights are going out.

    [00:11:17] Yes.

    [00:11:18] It's getting weird here.

    [00:11:19] It's we're seeing a change.

    [00:11:22] But you know what?

[00:11:23] We can still wave in the they can see us in the shadows here.

[00:11:26] But anyway, so I don't need just he was just fearless.

[00:11:30] He never he never cracked.

[00:11:32] He never he was just like, I mean, I don't know since Johnny Horton,

[00:11:36] to be honest with you, playing that that caliber at 15 years old,

    [00:11:40] 16, 17 years old.

    [00:11:42] Yeah.

    [00:11:43] Yeah.

[00:11:44] I mean, he was playing these guys like he knew he was going to win.

    [00:11:47] Yep.

[00:11:48] And the fear was actually on the Ryan's and the Tony's faces.

    [00:11:51] Exactly.

    [00:11:52] Exactly.

[00:11:53] Like, how do we handle this kid?

    [00:11:55] He's just he's just phenomenal.

[00:11:57] I got to say, and this is this is one of many things that have happened

    [00:12:01] this weekend.

    [00:12:02] Right.

[00:12:03] So how did it go for you?

[00:12:04] What what was your what were your events?

[00:12:07] Well, I only wanted to play in an over doubles.

[00:12:09] I played with Tom Yorke.

    [00:12:10] Yep.

[00:12:11] And we actually made it to we went four and one.

[00:12:14] And then we won our first round.

    [00:12:16] OK.

    [00:12:17] Knockouts.

[00:12:18] We played Ryan and and the cane, the cane.

    [00:12:23] I was very happy.

[00:12:24] I mean, you know, taking like that, we went five games with them, had a chance

    [00:12:27] to go over time.

[00:12:28] We kind of blew it.

    [00:12:29] But OK.

[00:12:30] But it was absolutely a blast.

[00:12:32] You know, when you play Ryan, see, I'm from that school of he talks

    [00:12:36] back.

    [00:12:37] I'm talking smack.

    [00:12:38] I get up front.

    [00:12:39] I jump over front.

    [00:12:40] I block his file.

[00:12:41] I look at him and say, you really you really pass on people that

    [00:12:44] with that fiber on.

    [00:12:45] Right.

[00:12:46] And he says, you know what?

    [00:12:47] I love playing you.

    [00:12:48] You're a freaking freak.

    [00:12:49] You don't care.

[00:12:50] So it was just fun.

    [00:12:51] Right.

[00:12:52] It was a tough match.

[00:12:53] I mean, we play those guys five.

    [00:12:54] Yeah.

    [00:12:55] Soaked in sweat.

    [00:12:56] I'm just looking.

    [00:12:57] Oh, my God.

    [00:12:58] For the exit door.

[00:12:59] But I got to ask you now, did you have fun?

    [00:13:02] I had a blast.

    [00:13:03] Yeah.

[00:13:04] You got a big crowd around.

[00:13:05] They're all laughing because here's this old guy like me talking smack

    [00:13:08] to Ryan Moore.

[00:13:09] Not that it worked out well for me, but it was fun.

[00:13:13] I mean, that's that was the amazing thing about this weekend.

[00:13:17] The other thing I think really was compelling is the fact that we were

    [00:13:20] able to take breaks.

    [00:13:21] Right.

[00:13:22] You know, there was the qualifying rounds, which is five or in some cases

    [00:13:25] four.

[00:13:26] And then you have a lunch break and you go away for an hour and do

    [00:13:31] whatever you want.

[00:13:32] Well, that's good and bad, though.

    [00:13:33] Yeah.

    [00:13:34] I get you.

[00:13:35] Like a two hour break.

[00:13:36] And the problem was these guys are happy.

    [00:13:38] I'm old.

    [00:13:39] Yeah.

[00:13:40] So that two hours my arms lock up.

[00:13:42] My you know, things start hurting.

    [00:13:43] But oh yeah.

    [00:13:44] But no, I wouldn't change a thing.

    [00:13:46] No, I got you.

[00:13:47] It was it was just that kind of experience.

[00:13:50] I do have to give a shout out to my partner, Michael Veidt from Boise,

    [00:13:56] Idaho.

[00:13:57] He created shirts with the logo.

[00:14:01] You know, if you're watching Twitch TV, you can see this logo.

    [00:14:04] It says Boise.

[00:14:05] But then on the back, I don't know if you can see that, but it's

[00:14:13] the image of Foosball radio on the back of the shirt with my

    [00:14:17] name.

    [00:14:18] Nice.

[00:14:19] So, Michael, you rocket man.

[00:14:22] Thank you so much for the shirt.

[00:14:23] And we played together in the over sixty three category and our

[00:14:28] qualifying round was a blast.

[00:14:30] We won two out of the four.

[00:14:32] So, you know, fifty fifty.

    [00:14:34] Not bad.

[00:14:35] They mixed the over sixty three with the over fifty seniors when

[00:14:40] it came to the knockout round.

[00:14:43] So we had to play younger people in our first qualifying

    [00:14:49] round.

[00:14:50] And then we got down with the sixty threes and man, we had

[00:14:56] we had a real close call in that qualifying round for the

    [00:15:00] over sixty three.

[00:15:01] I thought for sure there was a moment there we were going

    [00:15:03] to take that one.

[00:15:04] But it was a tough it was a tough match.

[00:15:06] And yet, you know, even though we didn't make it to

[00:15:09] the finals, in fact, the guys who were in the over sixty three

[00:15:14] finals right now, those are the guys that knocked us out.

[00:15:16] If we had beat those guys, who knows?

    [00:15:18] Who knows?

[00:15:19] That could be there right now.

    [00:15:20] That final table.

    [00:15:21] You wouldn't be right.

[00:15:23] So where's the most important question of the weekend?

[00:15:25] Where is Randy Raposo my favorite player?

    [00:15:28] Where is Randy?

[00:15:29] Well, Randy had some stuff.

[00:15:30] We talked to him beforehand and he had some obligations and

[00:15:34] he said he won't miss the next one for sure.

    [00:15:36] Yeah.

[00:15:37] And especially after hears about everybody has been here.

[00:15:40] How much he's going to be sick about not being here.

    [00:15:43] Oh, yeah.

[00:15:44] Anyway, I'm sure he's probably watching some stuff at home.

[00:15:46] We're we're we're in communication and he was, you know,

[00:15:49] he was going to try and join us remotely.

[00:15:51] But unfortunately, because of a technical glitch, we weren't

[00:15:55] able to bring him on the show tonight.

    [00:15:57] But you know what?

    [00:15:58] I think he's here in spirit.

    [00:15:59] Yeah.

[00:16:00] Regardless, you know, apologize for having to leave a while ago.

[00:16:03] We just know that's why they're fixing to announce the

    [00:16:06] finals, right?

[00:16:07] OK, so they want to get the mood just right to do a big

    [00:16:11] introduction.

[00:16:12] And so I understand that where they messed up is they

[00:16:16] didn't tell the players that's playing matches on the

[00:16:19] other side what they were doing.

[00:16:20] Oh, and so someone got upset because they was cutting

[00:16:22] lights on off on off.

[00:16:24] So I understand them getting mad.

[00:16:26] And of course, some of the people that was food on

[00:16:28] the lights got mad back with them.

[00:16:29] And I went and stopped it and told him that's not how

    [00:16:31] we do.

    [00:16:32] And I apologize.

[00:16:33] The player said they should have come and told you

    [00:16:35] first.

    [00:16:36] And I said, I appreciate it.

[00:16:37] And I said, I apologize for them.

[00:16:38] And they said, you didn't have to.

    [00:16:39] But thank you.

[00:16:40] And now they're playing and everybody's happy.

    [00:16:41] There you go.

[00:16:42] But you know, I mean, well, don't they understand

[00:16:44] the importance of me and Tom Robinson just being here?

    [00:16:47] I know.

[00:16:48] See, I said, look, and I told him, I said, look,

[00:16:51] don't cut the lights over here.

[00:16:53] We're doing something important over here.

[00:16:55] But, you know, I can still see me in your camera.

[00:16:57] Oh, we're nice and cozy in the dark.

    [00:16:59] Thank you.

    [00:17:00] Hey, all right.

    [00:17:01] It's it's you know, it's a greater mood to me.

[00:17:04] I'm in the mood for a baseball.

[00:17:06] OK, back to my story.

[00:17:08] I don't even remember what I was talking about.

[00:17:10] Well, we're just talking about the fact that this

[00:17:12] maybe could have been promoted for a longer period of time.

    [00:17:14] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

    [00:17:15] That's where it was.

    [00:17:16] Yeah.

[00:17:17] So I try to talk them out of it.

    [00:17:18] Right?

    [00:17:19] Yeah.

[00:17:20] He said, I don't care if we have 100 people.

[00:17:21] It's going to be the best tournament.

    [00:17:22] 100 people.

[00:17:23] They're going to have great experience.

[00:17:24] And so I said, OK.

[00:17:25] So we started going and then, you know,

    [00:17:29] we were still worried.

[00:17:30] You know, if we don't have enough players,

[00:17:31] it's cost a lot of money to put something like

    [00:17:33] this on.

[00:17:34] You know, now I see why they budget sixty,

[00:17:37] eighty thousand, one hundred thousand for tournaments like

    [00:17:39] hold on a second.

    [00:17:40] Six the budget.

    [00:17:41] Sixty thousand, eighty thousand,

[00:17:43] one hundred thousand, even more for like a world

    [00:17:45] world cup.

[00:17:47] You know, but you know, it's like this.

[00:17:50] I'm not going to say how much this was,

    [00:17:52] but trust me, it's a lot.

[00:17:54] Oh, it looks like a lot.

[00:17:56] Well, this is not that big.

    [00:17:57] We're not we're not a hundred thousand tournament,

    [00:18:01] you know, but still.

[00:18:02] But this is still a this this this set over here.

[00:18:05] If they could just I mean,

[00:18:06] I know you're not on there with that,

[00:18:07] but if they go to Facebook and look at the set up,

    [00:18:09] it blows you away.

[00:18:11] I mean, you come in as like, wow.

[00:18:13] But, you know, to pull this off in three months,

[00:18:17] it took a lot of work and dedication.

[00:18:20] And, you know, Foosball players on the tourist

[00:18:22] were waiting to sign up to last minute.

[00:18:24] And and I said, OK, if we get a hundred,

    [00:18:27] he's fine with that.

    [00:18:28] OK.

    [00:18:29] I said, I'd like a hundred and fifty.

[00:18:31] And Steve Murray said, you know,

[00:18:33] it'd be nice to get two hundred.

[00:18:35] Yeah, I haven't looked at the final count,

[00:18:37] but I think the last time I looked was like a hundred

[00:18:39] and eighty seven or something like that.

[00:18:41] So still it picked up and we probably have,

    [00:18:43] I don't know, forty thirty,

[00:18:45] thirty or so thirty or forty European players here.

    [00:18:49] Yes.

[00:18:50] Well, and the reason they couldn't come

    [00:18:52] because conflict.

[00:18:53] Yeah, they had a Bonzini turn that was over four days ago.

[00:18:56] So is that a table?

[00:18:58] Yeah, that's not something you see on a menu.

[00:19:03] It is not a name of a restaurant.

[00:19:05] Talking about like hockey or no, it's a Bonzini table,

[00:19:08] which is which I tell you what, you know,

[00:19:10] they say tornado is one of the best tables built.

[00:19:13] It's sturdy, it stands for stuff.

[00:19:15] Bonzini table is good, but I tell you what,

[00:19:17] it takes some finesse to play on them.

    [00:19:19] Oh, it does.

[00:19:20] You can get inside of it for a nuclear explosion.

    [00:19:23] Yeah, I mean, it's they're solid, you know,

[00:19:25] and, you know, they're good tables.

    [00:19:27] I like I like I like I know you're picking,

[00:19:29] but I like all of them really.

    [00:19:30] Be honest with you.

    [00:19:31] Played back wouldn't read a pair.

[00:19:33] It's kind of the same thing, right?

    [00:19:35] Yeah, it is.

    [00:19:36] Yes, right.

    [00:19:37] No, actually, all right.

[00:19:38] Here comes some manager of the place.

[00:19:40] I hope we don't start cutting lights off.

[00:19:42] But anyway, I'm not going to look at that no more.

    [00:19:44] I'm done.

    [00:19:45] I'm done with that.

[00:19:46] You can cut them all out.

    [00:19:47] Done.

    [00:19:48] You're done.

    [00:19:49] You're done.

[00:19:50] OK, but anyway, if this this tournament,

    [00:19:52] we pull it off.

    [00:19:53] Everything's good.

    [00:19:54] I think the thing is, is I T S F said,

    [00:19:57] you know what?

[00:19:58] We're serious about football here in USA.

[00:20:01] And basically we have a five year commitment

[00:20:03] on doing a World Series.

    [00:20:05] Nice.

[00:20:06] A lot of things are going to change in the future.

    [00:20:08] Excellent.

[00:20:09] The software they use is called Coral.

[00:20:12] And it, you know, it has a lot of people

    [00:20:16] working on it.

    [00:20:17] Yeah.

[00:20:18] Not just one or two program.

    [00:20:19] There's a lot of people.

[00:20:21] It seemed like they work on a 24 seven.

    [00:20:23] And then there's stuff.

[00:20:24] It says updates, updates, updates, updates.

[00:20:26] You know what I told you, Donald?

    [00:20:28] What's that?

    [00:20:29] I said it's technically challenges.

    [00:20:31] I am.

    [00:20:32] Oh, that's right.

[00:20:33] I even got him an account.

[00:20:34] Man, he was able to get people were saying

    [00:20:37] they're having trouble.

    [00:20:38] Yeah, I got on.

    [00:20:39] I signed myself up.

[00:20:41] So don't listen to that nonsense.

[00:20:43] What can they can I hear this music on there?

    [00:20:45] A little bit.

    [00:20:46] I think we'll look.

[00:20:47] Watch out here in the background now as they're

[00:20:49] showing a two minute video from the last World Cup

    [00:20:52] and some great matches.

    [00:20:53] And you know what?

[00:20:54] A lot of the players in the in the film that

[00:20:57] they're showing has a lot of USA players in

    [00:20:59] there.

[00:21:00] It shows some of the women show some of the

    [00:21:02] men's teams.

[00:21:03] And, you know, it's really cool.

[00:21:05] And I'm pretty sure they'll have it on their

    [00:21:07] website.

    [00:21:08] Yeah.

    [00:21:09] Yeah.

    [00:21:10] Showing it.

    [00:21:11] But it's really neat.

[00:21:12] But they're in it fixed.

    [00:21:13] Introduce a finals.

[00:21:14] We have the finals of the women's coming up

[00:21:16] and the finals of the men's coming up.

[00:21:18] And so right now we have the women and it's

[00:21:20] going to be Isabel Steli.

    [00:21:21] Yep.

[00:21:22] And you've got a more versus and they're playing

[00:21:25] my Lin is it my Lin.

    [00:21:27] I like Trent.

[00:21:28] I'm in a trend and Katarina Katarina.

[00:21:32] I just call her Katia.

[00:21:33] That's what she always tells me.

[00:21:34] And I'm not even try to butcher her last

    [00:21:36] name.

[00:21:37] But anyway, this ought to be a good match

    [00:21:39] here.

[00:21:40] I mean, you know, we have Sullivan and

[00:21:44] Hannah playing Liz and Christian LaFucque

[00:21:48] over there for third place.

[00:21:50] So you see, that's a tough field.

[00:21:51] I mean, it's no no weak players at this

    [00:21:55] event.

[00:21:56] This weekend Isabel Steli was was a star.

[00:21:59] She is she is coming into her own.

[00:22:01] You know, she's you know, she back two

[00:22:04] years ago, she started playing maybe a

[00:22:06] little longer, but she was she was

[00:22:09] playing in her dad's garage with all the

[00:22:11] guys that come over and have tournaments

[00:22:13] and you know, she's already learning from

    [00:22:15] them.

[00:22:16] And yeah, here we go.

    [00:22:18] Here we go.

[00:22:19] Now you all can hear that right.

    [00:22:21] Let's pause.

    [00:22:22] I can't accept the World Series

    [00:22:24] Women's Double Champions.

[00:22:27] Yeah, I can do that.

[00:22:30] Oh, no, I'm lip syncing position.

[00:22:34] From Germany, please welcome Mylin

    [00:22:36] Tran.

    [00:22:37] Thank you.

    [00:22:41] It's all about me.

    [00:22:42] Thank you.

    [00:22:43] I'm in ground of a class.

    [00:22:46] Yeah, that's her name.

[00:22:48] Yeah, what does it kind of rain is

    [00:22:50] that a little bit of a

    [00:22:52] welcome Isabel?

    [00:22:53] Oh,

    [00:22:54] yeah.

[00:22:55] Also out of the United States.

    [00:23:00] You better know.

    [00:23:02] Oh,

[00:23:03] I'll give you started on that guy.

    [00:23:14] He's a ball.

    [00:23:15] He's a ball.

[00:23:16] That door is not going to be big

[00:23:17] enough for him to go out of it.

[00:23:19] The name your I mean, what can you

    [00:23:22] say?

    [00:23:23] Yeah.

[00:23:24] And Mike and Tom showed up this

    [00:23:26] weekend from the family.

[00:23:27] Yeah, it's funny when my one

[00:23:29] senior 50 and older senior

[00:23:31] singles, they introduced him as

    [00:23:33] Tommy yours, uncle.

    [00:23:34] Yeah.

    [00:23:36] Perfect.

[00:23:37] Well, I thought about this

    [00:23:38] tournament.

[00:23:39] Tom says we had to play a

    [00:23:40] team.

[00:23:41] He goes, Hey, Mike, you don't

[00:23:42] know these guys, but they're

    [00:23:43] tough.

    [00:23:44] I said there's thirty seven

    [00:23:45] teams and there's like

    [00:23:46] extraordinarily tough and the

    [00:23:48] tough.

    [00:23:49] Oh, yes.

[00:23:50] There's no weak teams in

    [00:23:51] this event.

[00:23:52] No, no, no, not at all.

    [00:23:53] Not at all.

    [00:23:54] No, it's highly competitive.

    [00:23:55] Highly competitive.

[00:23:56] And you know, the best thing

[00:23:57] about it, especially like an

[00:23:58] art in our division of the

    [00:24:00] seniors, there wasn't a slouch

    [00:24:01] in the bunch.

    [00:24:02] Yeah.

[00:24:03] And every single match was a

    [00:24:04] battle, a battle.

[00:24:06] Well, let me just tell you

    [00:24:07] about classic.

[00:24:08] Well, let me just let me

[00:24:09] tell you about real quick.

    [00:24:10] Well, real quick.

[00:24:11] No, I want to say this to

    [00:24:12] you.

    [00:24:13] Time's up.

[00:24:14] I want you to talk a little

[00:24:15] bit about what this type of

[00:24:17] tournament and stuff has done

[00:24:19] over for the people who don't

[00:24:21] know like the World Cups and

    [00:24:23] things where people actually

[00:24:24] want to come watch matches.

    [00:24:25] Yeah, right.

[00:24:26] Well, first of all, now you

[00:24:29] made me forget I was going to

[00:24:30] say, so let's go ahead and

    [00:24:32] talk about this.

    [00:24:33] Talk about me here.

    [00:24:34] All right.

    [00:24:35] Well, OK, this this.

    [00:24:37] All right.

    [00:24:38] This tournament this weekend

[00:24:39] is the first World Series in

    [00:24:43] the United States.

    [00:24:44] OK, OK.

    [00:24:45] We've had we've had we've

    [00:24:46] had quite a few

    [00:24:47] internationals, which is now

    [00:24:49] called ITSF seven fifty.

    [00:24:51] We've had a ton of master

    [00:24:53] tournaments and pro

    [00:24:54] tournaments, which are now

[00:24:55] called ITSF five hundred and

    [00:24:57] ITSF two fifty.

[00:24:58] They just change the name

[00:24:59] just to get kind of more

    [00:25:00] tech or whatever.

[00:25:01] OK, but anyway, we have

    [00:25:04] those tournaments because we

    [00:25:05] sanction them through ITSF.

[00:25:07] They have what they call a

[00:25:08] points race each year, kind

[00:25:09] of like we do with USDSO

    [00:25:10] for our championships.

    [00:25:11] Yep.

[00:25:12] And they take like the tops,

[00:25:14] the top eight women are in

[00:25:16] top sixteen men or something

    [00:25:18] like that.

    [00:25:19] Maybe eight and eight.

    [00:25:20] I don't know, but they get

[00:25:21] what they call travel packages.

[00:25:23] And if you if you play a lot of

[00:25:25] these events, you gain points.

    [00:25:27] Right.

[00:25:28] And so the top players at the

[00:25:29] end each year get a travel

[00:25:32] package in for USA North

[00:25:34] America players is seven hundred

    [00:25:36] euros.

[00:25:37] So it's right under eight

    [00:25:38] hundred dollars.

    [00:25:39] Wow.

[00:25:40] And they get that when they

    [00:25:41] show up at ITSF.

[00:25:42] So we they've given away

    [00:25:43] every singles winner this

[00:25:44] weekend got a tour package.

    [00:25:46] Nice.

    [00:25:47] Yeah, that's all.

    [00:25:48] So that's a lot of money.

    [00:25:49] You know, that's seven

    [00:25:50] hundred dollars a person.

    [00:25:51] A huge added bonus.

[00:25:52] So yeah, a lot of people

    [00:25:53] know that.

    [00:25:54] So wow.

    [00:25:55] But anyway, these

[00:25:56] tournaments, the setup you see

[00:25:57] here is just imagine it

[00:26:00] probably three times the size

    [00:26:03] of that.

    [00:26:04] OK, OK.

[00:26:05] And and they have, you know,

    [00:26:07] tables, three tables or

    [00:26:09] sometimes four with bleachers

    [00:26:11] between them.

[00:26:12] So you can watch from the

[00:26:13] sides if you're from that

[00:26:14] country or on that team.

    [00:26:15] OK.

[00:26:16] And then everybody else is up

[00:26:17] in the stands and they have

[00:26:18] people just come to watch, not

    [00:26:19] just play.

    [00:26:20] Yeah.

[00:26:21] When we was in France, they

    [00:26:22] had schools bussing like

[00:26:24] four thousand kids and like

[00:26:26] in a couple of days.

    [00:26:27] Yeah, we have.

    [00:26:28] I have a video.

[00:26:29] I mean, it made the hair on

[00:26:30] the back of my neck stand up

[00:26:31] because the kids was all

[00:26:32] cheering and they had them

    [00:26:33] things clapping them together

[00:26:34] and they were saying stuff

[00:26:35] all in unison like at a

    [00:26:36] year.

[00:26:37] So many soccer games, you

    [00:26:38] know.

[00:26:39] And I said, how cool is that?

[00:26:40] And my wife was, you know,

[00:26:41] she was video and she said,

[00:26:42] man, I'm going to go to

    [00:26:43] the soccer game.

[00:26:44] I'm going to go to the

    [00:26:45] soccer game.

[00:26:46] She was video and she said,

[00:26:47] man, USA got to step it up.

[00:26:49] We can't let these guys out

    [00:26:50] show us over there.

    [00:26:51] Yeah.

[00:26:52] So anyway, that's one of

    [00:26:53] Farid's things.

[00:26:54] You know, he was coming in

[00:26:55] and he said, you know, we

[00:26:56] need to get with schools and

[00:26:57] we need to have them come

[00:26:59] check it out and invite, you

    [00:27:01] know, people in the

    [00:27:04] legislature or whatever or

[00:27:07] officials of the city or

[00:27:09] whatever and stuff like that.

[00:27:10] Just come check it out and

    [00:27:11] see what it's about.

    [00:27:12] Yes.

    [00:27:13] Yeah.

[00:27:14] This is this is exciting on

    [00:27:16] so many levels.

    [00:27:17] Yeah.

[00:27:18] But when it comes to just

[00:27:19] the standard by which this

    [00:27:21] this tournament has been

    [00:27:22] run with a setup, I mean,

[00:27:24] this is a new standard.

[00:27:25] This is a new gold standard

[00:27:26] for US US based competition.

[00:27:30] Well, you can see the

    [00:27:31] possibilities.

    [00:27:32] Yeah.

    [00:27:33] Yeah.

[00:27:34] Well, I know he put

[00:27:36] something out on Facebook about

    [00:27:39] promoters interested in some

[00:27:41] some kind of program or

[00:27:44] something he's wanted to help

[00:27:45] try to build the player base

[00:27:47] here in the United States.

    [00:27:48] Yep.

[00:27:49] He's only let little snippets

    [00:27:51] out.

    [00:27:52] I really don't know the whole

[00:27:53] plan, but he's wanting to get

    [00:27:55] promoters interested and he's

[00:27:56] not trying to come over and

    [00:27:57] take over.

[00:27:58] He's trying to get over and

[00:27:59] make it bigger because if he

[00:28:00] makes it bigger, it's going to

    [00:28:01] help every promoter.

    [00:28:02] Yes.

    [00:28:03] Right.

    [00:28:04] Absolutely.

[00:28:05] And because he's not wanting

[00:28:06] to come over here and run

    [00:28:07] nothing.

[00:28:08] You know, he just come over

    [00:28:09] here.

[00:28:10] And he's just trying to get

[00:28:11] the people to come over here

    [00:28:12] and make it bigger.

[00:28:13] And that's what they do over

    [00:28:14] there.

    [00:28:15] Yeah.

[00:28:16] And what what kind of started

[00:28:17] all is, you know, a couple

[00:28:19] years ago back in twenty one

[00:28:22] tornado was pretty much done

    [00:28:23] with it.

    [00:28:24] Yeah.

[00:28:25] They don't want to be a part

[00:28:26] of it because, you know,

[00:28:27] that was kind of covid time

    [00:28:28] and everything.

    [00:28:29] Sure.

[00:28:30] Well, I mean, it was rough

    [00:28:31] for everybody.

    [00:28:32] Yeah.

[00:28:33] And so they was like, you

[00:28:34] know, table sales are well

[00:28:35] there because, you know, I

[00:28:36] did sell a lot of home miles

    [00:28:37] during that time though.

    [00:28:38] Yeah.

[00:28:40] I went me and Tracy McMillan,

    [00:28:42] Steve, Steve Murray.

[00:28:43] We went up there and had a

[00:28:44] meeting with them about the

[00:28:45] World Cup coming up in twenty

    [00:28:46] two.

[00:28:47] And I told him, you know,

    [00:28:49] you're our home model.

    [00:28:51] You're our home table.

    [00:28:52] Yeah.

    [00:28:53] And you're also a home table

    [00:28:54] for 15 other countries.

[00:28:56] And they was like, really?

    [00:28:57] They didn't know that.

    [00:28:58] They didn't know that.

[00:28:59] So I gave them a list of

    [00:29:00] countries.

[00:29:01] You know, I'm like, this is

[00:29:02] who loves your table and it's

[00:29:03] they call it their home

    [00:29:04] table.

[00:29:05] And they was unaware of it.

[00:29:06] So he said he don't mind

    [00:29:07] sending, you know, a

[00:29:08] container tables over and stuff

    [00:29:09] like that.

[00:29:10] But he wants it to soon as one

    [00:29:11] zempi send another, another

    [00:29:13] zempi send another.

[00:29:14] He didn't want to be just

    [00:29:15] every two year thing.

[00:29:16] And I understand, you know,

    [00:29:17] sure.

[00:29:18] But anyway, it worked out

[00:29:21] and they got back in.

[00:29:22] OK, well, they happened to

[00:29:24] go over there to France.

    [00:29:25] I don't know if they just

[00:29:26] went on a trip over there.

[00:29:27] They actually went for a

    [00:29:28] meeting over there.

[00:29:29] But they met with Fareed

[00:29:30] and he showed them how the

[00:29:31] schools were involved and how

[00:29:34] their clubs were over there

[00:29:35] and how they did things.

[00:29:36] And they said, you know,

[00:29:37] wow, that'd be great if we

[00:29:38] could do that in the United

    [00:29:39] States.

[00:29:40] Now, I will I will do this

    [00:29:41] disclaimer.

[00:29:42] We can't do everything the

    [00:29:43] same, right?

    [00:29:44] We have totally different

    [00:29:45] people, totally different

    [00:29:46] styles.

[00:29:47] We have like up team

    [00:29:48] thousand million sports over

[00:29:50] here for kids to choose upon

    [00:29:51] and adults.

    [00:29:52] True.

[00:29:53] So the foosball is our

    [00:29:54] passion.

[00:29:55] Yeah, it might not be

    [00:29:56] everybody's passion, but

[00:29:57] everybody knows what it is.

[00:29:58] Because when I tell people

    [00:29:59] what I do when I play

[00:30:00] foosball, oh, I used to

    [00:30:01] play that.

    [00:30:02] That's fun.

[00:30:03] Back in the day, I was

    [00:30:04] back in the day.

    [00:30:05] Me too.

[00:30:06] And even now, but just

[00:30:07] like just like just for

    [00:30:08] starters this this week,

[00:30:09] they came over here a couple

[00:30:10] of days early and before we

    [00:30:11] actually started setting up,

[00:30:12] they went and visited the

[00:30:13] local boys and girls club

    [00:30:14] here.

[00:30:15] OK, and so they I guess

[00:30:16] they gave them a table or

    [00:30:17] something.

[00:30:18] Maybe they had a table.

    [00:30:19] Nice.

[00:30:20] But so there's over there

[00:30:21] and they had Jason which

[00:30:22] go over and show them some

    [00:30:23] stuff on the foosball

[00:30:24] table is like, oh, that's

    [00:30:25] great.

[00:30:26] And then they had a

    [00:30:27] table.

[00:30:28] So they had a table.

    [00:30:29] They had a table.

    [00:30:30] They had a table.

    [00:30:31] They had a table.

    [00:30:32] They had a table.

[00:30:33] They had a foosball table

[00:30:34] is like, oh, a clinic.

[00:30:35] And and then I think

    [00:30:36] Trey spoke and Vareed

[00:30:37] spoke to free spoke to

    [00:30:38] some people over there.

[00:30:39] And you know, it's real

    [00:30:40] cool.

    [00:30:41] I mean, they're just

[00:30:42] trying to get kids in it.

    [00:30:43] And I said, well, I

    [00:30:44] told I told Trey, I

[00:30:45] said, look, man, if you

[00:30:46] want to tell a story,

[00:30:47] I got one for you.

    [00:30:48] There's this little kid

    [00:30:49] that started playing

    [00:30:50] foosball when he was

[00:30:51] about seven or eight years

[00:30:52] old at a boys club.

    [00:30:53] OK, and today he's

    [00:30:54] here at the local

    [00:30:55] boys club.

    [00:30:56] So he's a little

    [00:30:57] bit of a kid.

    [00:30:58] He's a little bit of a

[00:30:59] little bit of a little

[00:31:00] bit of a little bit of a

    [00:31:01] little guy.

    [00:31:02] And today he's USTSO

    [00:31:03] president.

    [00:31:06] Because that's where I

[00:31:07] got my first taste of foosball

    [00:31:08] like, who would that

    [00:31:09] be?

    [00:31:10] That's where I got

    [00:31:11] my first that that's

    [00:31:12] where I got my

    [00:31:13] first taste.

    [00:31:14] Yeah, that was me.

    [00:31:15] Boys Club.

    [00:31:16] I was over there.

    [00:31:17] I played foosball

[00:31:18] two things I did when

[00:31:19] I went to the boys

    [00:31:20] club.

    [00:31:21] Play foosball and

    [00:31:22] jumped on trampoline

    [00:31:23] and then during

    [00:31:24] trouble, I got in

    [00:31:25] traction.

    [00:31:26] So I can't do that.

    [00:31:27] And then we had

    [00:31:28] baseball also there.

    [00:31:29] But anyway, that

[00:31:30] that you know so it can start anywhere. Yes and just just hearing all the things

[00:31:35] you know Mary even Mary Moore her one of her dreams and and and really what drives

[00:31:41] her now is to try to get schools to have tables that was John O'Brien's

[00:31:45] goal and Mary said she wants that to live on and she's wanting to get a

[00:31:49] lot of schools with tables because not not just to build the sport of foosball

[00:31:53] but it's to have kids to have something to do they keep some out of

[00:31:57] trouble at us you know it builds skill but it also builds social teamwork you

[00:32:02] know the social aspect of this and then you don't have to be a jock yeah it's

[00:32:08] an equalizer so you think about like a kid when like Sammy DeJon when he

[00:32:13] would first order down he was eight years old standing on a box yeah

[00:32:16] beating the you know what out of adults at that age eight nine years old

[00:32:21] so it's a great equalizer you know it's like yeah and like we had teen

[00:32:26] centers and different things and to be honest with you probably don't say the

[00:32:29] same thing like you yeah it's just like probably there's a lot of a lot

[00:32:35] more trouble than we'd have been in yeah we had to have a place to go play

[00:32:39] and do that oh no question you know question about it well here's my

[00:32:43] question don't want to go negative this I don't think this is negative the

[00:32:46] question I mean I've been asked this and I kind of feel this way and I

[00:32:50] know this is the first one this is thing but can you incorporate like an

[00:32:54] expert type of Benson of this thing well see because you know in America that's

[00:33:00] the bread and butter yeah I know I know and here's the thing back I was told

[00:33:05] back in the day way back in the day that they had ranks in Europe and had

[00:33:10] different levels and he said when they made the change people quit playing

[00:33:15] but he stuck it through and they started back playing and now he said

[00:33:20] they've been doing this for so long they can't even remember when they

[00:33:22] used to have the different levels really you know you have people that

[00:33:26] aren't scared and I'm not saying people here are scared but they're not

[00:33:28] scared to play a master okay they're not scared to play a pro but I get

[00:33:32] their point they want to be competitive and they don't you know who

[00:33:35] wants to lose all the time yeah so so what free did for this

[00:33:39] tournament is this is the first time it's ever happened I don't think

[00:33:42] they've ever done any tournament they got a they have a pro division

[00:33:45] yep yep and they have a expert of it amateur division amateurs going by

[00:33:50] points okay okay yeah and see Mary Mary's gonna be a part of this too but

[00:33:54] she's had some things happen you know that she couldn't get out of okay okay

[00:34:01] you know so we're hoping everything's okay there I think you know our

[00:34:07] best doing good now yeah he's doing good now yeah but I mean she had

[00:34:10] things like that that she couldn't just come yeah I'm it too it's you

[00:34:14] know but she she said she said I don't want it to be a failure yeah

[00:34:18] you know we wanted to be a success because if it's a says for the emphasis

[00:34:21] that's for everybody yes it is so anyway we're using her ranking for the

[00:34:27] pro and amateur for tomorrow one of our viewers on twitch TV maybe our only

[00:34:31] viewer this evening wanted to know if there will be another event there

[00:34:36] will be lower ranks or will always just be amateurs in place well I

[00:34:39] mean you know I haven't looked at how many are signed up but there there

[00:34:44] are a lot of sound a lot of people signed up for that okay I mean we we we

[00:34:49] we're not going to go into a bunch of different events because you can't play

[00:34:53] in them all you only pick one yes but I mean I don't think it would be a

[00:34:56] problem to do a amateur and expert and a pro but you can't play in both

[00:35:03] but you'll cut your amounts down okay you know so they grouped it to

[00:35:07] rookie amateur and then they group to the expert pro yep no masters okay

[00:35:12] I tell you what I thought would be fun and of course everybody's got an idea right yeah

[00:35:15] this is these guys have done it they proved it but I'm saying is like I

[00:35:19] would love to see like a master pro expert amateur and maybe beginner

[00:35:25] rookie because basically these three divisions these guys are so good these

[00:35:30] days yeah yeah amateurs are experts they all got they all score yep well

[00:35:35] if you want to know my honest okay my honest opinion our rookies are

[00:35:41] not rookies exactly not at all our beginners are not you should you should

[00:35:48] never play beginner over a year yep yep and really after your first couple

[00:35:52] two or three tournaments you're not a beginner we've had this with the

[00:35:55] discussion yeah a few times you know but but you know you have beginners

[00:35:59] and you have people playing beginners and if they don't win then there's you

[00:36:08] know I mean there's been beginners come in yeah first tournament they're not a

[00:36:12] beginner no more two or three you know half a year they're already out of

[00:36:16] rookie and amateur those people move up fast oh yeah but there's some that just

[00:36:19] like to play it to have fun and they try to do good but they just they

[00:36:22] just don't get it sometimes and so why punish them to throw them way up

[00:36:26] there and you know but but seriously if you can do a pass and catch it a

[00:36:30] shot and execute yep you know you shouldn't be rookie long brother when I

[00:36:35] first came back I'm watching this match right I have no idea I don't know who

[00:36:38] anybody is but you because you know you're a legend but in my own mind

[00:36:44] watching this match and I mean these guys they're not missing a pass

[00:36:47] they're not you know they're going back and forth and I said was this

[00:36:50] the Pro Division of you know these are amateurs I go who's world yeah

[00:36:55] some serious talent going on no kidding yeah well I've told some

[00:36:59] told some players to man I used to be a pro man I think I can go play I

[00:37:03] said look you probably couldn't win a rookie tournament right you come on

    [00:37:06] tour oh because that's how good they are it's a here's the thing I mean I've

[00:37:12] been to what including worlds I've been to maybe six seven tournaments most

[00:37:18] of them IFP and I'm still ranked the beginner get out of here I am you

[00:37:24] play with Tommy Yorn won a tournament I know but you're not that was a

[00:37:27] regional so it was real simple back in the day yeah one beginner tournament

[00:37:33] and then you were now an amateur well my first tournament I played as a

[00:37:37] rookie I got second place out of probably close to a hundred players

[00:37:42] yeah and it was a tour kickoff back in 88 and then the next tournament I

[00:37:48] was an amateur okay and me and my partner Billy Barnes lost our first

[00:37:54] round match and amateur doubles and we fought our way back to win and double

[00:37:58] dip the team to get it double dipped all right and singles I lost my first

[00:38:02] match okay I come back and play to everybody I felt like I played

[00:38:06] everybody from Mississippi but I come back and battle through that and won

[00:38:09] first place in amateur singles I got a jacket that says wow Masters

[00:38:12] champion amateur singles amateur doubles Dave current to put on a

[00:38:16] newsletter well congratulations is Donald Wilson for playing in his last

[00:38:19] amateur event and I'm like so now I got bumped up to semi pro or expert

[00:38:26] whatever and like I was like doesn't that only make sense well yeah but I

[00:38:31] mean yeah it's I mean at the time I loved it yeah I wasn't saying keep me

[00:38:37] down as rookie or amateur no I was I was proud of it yeah now would I've

[00:38:42] liked to have played worlds as maybe a rookie yeah I probably would like

[00:38:45] to place one aren't amateurs want yeah but at the moment I'm like yeah

[00:38:49] I just moved up and I turned pro right after that we went to Atlanta come on

[00:38:56] buddy let me talk I'm dying to tell my daughter okay all right listen so

[00:39:01] so anyway we got me and Billy we were in Atlanta we're in Atlanta playing at

[00:39:05] a tournament there and we're playing at open doubles and he comes up to me

[00:39:12] said man I just got an elevator with Russ King and you know what he told

[00:39:16] me I said what's that he said y'all going down we play y'all first round so

[00:39:23] he come up to me and said Donald you do everything you can to tear these guys

[00:39:26] up right and I'm gonna do everything I can to block them okay play it was it

[00:39:30] was a Russ King and Richard White they was number one seed that we had

[00:39:34] number one yeah and so but you know we play them all the time because

[00:39:38] we're from Mississippi and we travel Louisiana play them all the time so

[00:39:41] we know Russ we know Richard we know all these guys right so long story

[00:39:45] short we beat on first round and now everybody's walking around watching us

[00:39:49] I'm like I don't like this and I forgot who we play next I think we played

[00:39:55] Thor Donovan to somebody or my I don't know who it was it was another big

[00:39:59] team what year was there was a there was a what year was that again 88 89

[00:40:04] yeah yeah and then uh there's a big crowd coming around to watch us well

[00:40:08] out of the first game they quit watching it was it was it was but I

[00:40:14] will say this me and him did go on to get ninth plate night tied for ninth

[00:40:18] place in doubles and that was in the money back then you know and they pay

[00:40:22] deep back then yeah but there's no they play back then they probably

[00:40:27] paid to sometimes 32nd place depending on how many people but you know and

[00:40:32] not and I'm not knocking term is now but back then I think an expert

[00:40:37] experts entry fee or semi pro up back in our novice whatever whatever

[00:40:42] they called it back then yep because I was a novice in the change of semi pro

[00:40:45] but for that one event my entry fee was $150 Wow you think they would pay that

[00:40:51] this an amateur or an expert or after play 150 play open I don't think so

[00:40:55] the open players are playing $300 to play or more yeah I got a flyer

[00:41:00] showing that okay because I used to keep I used to keep flyers from all

[00:41:05] them old tournaments by that standard I mean if you look at our the value

[00:41:08] of our money now that's what probably the equivalent of four or five hundred

[00:41:12] bucks yeah yeah so I mean if I can I can I can speak probably for Mary I could

[00:41:17] probably speak for Steve Murray I can probably see any promoter will pay

[00:41:23] back 32 places and we'll get a first place you know ten grand but your

[00:41:27] interface gonna be $500 right and breakfast yeah you know I'm saying I

[00:41:31] mean you know if you're willing to pay for it the money go up but not

[00:41:35] everybody's gonna do that right right right right I got one claim to fame all

[00:41:38] right come on you and me played a match with the freak with the legs were never

[00:41:42] on the ground that that actually was in st. Louis that's when that's when I

[00:41:46] won the amateur yeah that's when I won amateur this was in this was an

[00:41:50] eighty-nine explain doesn't mean all right I was playing him me and me

[00:41:54] and Billy Barnes play him and his partner and so we're playing you know

[00:41:59] I can kind of fired up when I play well I hit it I hit a dead man I go

[00:42:02] like yeah and you know and then he hits a day but he goes yeah so we start going

[00:42:08] back and forth try to be more over the other thing we might have been dancing

[00:42:11] around the room with the table the next thing we know all four legs are on

[00:42:14] the table our off the floor off the floor not on the table off the floor

[00:42:18] and then somebody stopped that's you know a master I don't know if his

[00:42:22] agents or more somebody somebody like that he says you know I think I'll

[00:42:25] rep this match yeah I mean he was walking by we just kept shooting

[00:42:28] we don't eat a rough we're having a good time anyway that was my first

[00:42:32] experience with him and I thought that's a lot of us one fighter yeah yeah but

[00:42:40] anyway Donald wasn't a Christian back yes I was I just I just mighta you

[00:42:49] might have slipped a little you know but since you're since you're going

[00:42:54] there thank you for the opportunity but you know even though I slipped

[00:42:56] God's grace is good and he forgives us no one out there listening but you

[00:43:02] haven't ever done anything too bad or too awful that you cannot be forgiven

[00:43:05] for and if you want to talk more about it you can reach me at any time

[00:43:09] because that's to me that's what's most important and once I made that

[00:43:13] decision I quit foosball four times three three times three times three

[00:43:18] times first time I quit is because I had children yeah right got a family

[00:43:26] and so you know I'm okay I came to look this is how much I love foosball I got

[00:43:31] married the week later we took our honeymoon at the World

[00:43:35] Championship mm-hmm my bachelor's cake my cake my wedding my cake was a car

[00:43:40] with the foosball table on back somebody did for me I mean come on

[00:43:44] now well and then and then we would go to these tournaments over here and

[00:43:47] my wife would bring the kids in the stroller double stroller but we have

[00:43:51] a third kid I kind of said okay you know I need to I need to help out

[00:43:54] you know yeah and so once my kids got a little better I started playing and then

    [00:44:01] I wouldn't I turned into a person I didn't want to be I never I didn't I

[00:44:05] didn't do drugs I wasn't drinking right too much not you know not bad I

    [00:44:11] mean I wouldn't I don't like to drink I don't if I if it don't taste good

[00:44:16] I don't drink it and alcohol burns my throat and right beer just tastes

[00:44:19] nasty I just don't like I just like it anyway that's me that's me but anyway

[00:44:23] so I might say some bad words here and there by accident in the heat of the

[00:44:29] match and stuff but then when I come home and and I hear my kids in

[00:44:35] another room saying something like yeah mmm I said you know what that's not

[00:44:39] how I want to be yeah I don't want my kids being like that so I quit

[00:44:42] foosball Wow and then I tried to go back after my kids I got older I

[00:44:49] tried to go back and play sure and then it slipped back in the same routine yeah

[00:44:53] and so I said you know what I can't do this you have to do it on your own

[00:44:57] terms yeah you really so finally I finally decided to go back one more

[00:45:01] time a buddy of mine called me say man they dropped it down from pro to

[00:45:03] expert you know come play yeah and I said sure so I went and played and

[00:45:08] played with a guy and of course I won expert doubles and expert singles

[00:45:12] okay and right before I left I just knelt right there in the middle of

[00:45:15] bar and thank Lord for opportunity to come and play and and I said I wanted

[00:45:18] to be more about you than his foosball so I made a commitment that if it ever

    [00:45:22] becomes more.

[00:45:25] Foosball comes more than my first relationship I don't even want to be

[00:45:27] interested in it you know that's how important is and since then I have

[00:45:31] played some of the best foosball I've ever played I've met a lot of

[00:45:34] people that I wouldn't have met I had an opportunity to go overseas twice

[00:45:38] to represent our country right and I'm having the best time of my life

[00:45:41] because it's not a chore to be a Christian it's not a chore to to live

[00:45:45] right you know you have to put a lot of energy into doing wrong yeah but anyway

[00:45:48] I'm not I'm sorry this is not this is Sunday so it's the right time to talk

[00:45:51] about but I'm just saying you know that's me in a nutshell I like to have

[00:45:56] fun everywhere I go I mean I might get fierce on the table yeah but I

[00:46:00] mean and when I'm done I'm done give me you might need to give me five

[00:46:03] minutes or you don't talk to me in five minutes for you know let me

[00:46:06] kind of get over this and then I'm good you know.

[00:46:08] But as honest as he is during COVID I said oh hey man we're gonna slip you a couple books I'll do the seniors team

[00:46:14] and he says you know I can't do that.

    [00:46:16] I can't do that.

[00:46:18] And we had some we had some issues come up with some things where things didn't go the way they did

[00:46:23] and they you know I said I have integrity I'm not going to be bullied or

[00:46:27] yes make a make a you know you got to be true to yourself.

[00:46:30] When I came on as president of USTSO I said I'm doing this but I'm

[00:46:34] gonna treat a rookie like I would a master no favoritism you know yep

[00:46:39] because it's it's not about one group of people it's about all groups

[00:46:43] of people and if you just care about one group you're not going to get everybody playing.

[00:46:47] Oh yeah no no I think we should probably clarify too with USTSO this weekend

[00:46:52] there are certain people that are getting certain things for competing

[00:46:56] this weekend Don you want to fill us in on those details.

[00:46:59] Okay well this weekend is the World Series of course in a World Series

[00:47:04] they give away tour packages and qualifiers that do not count against

[00:47:08] USTSO. USTSO is a federation we get six spots per event okay to hand out

[00:47:14] and in qualifiers this is for two years for the World Cup.

[00:47:19] This is for the World Championship there's two tournaments okay that's another thing a lot of people

    [00:47:22] don't understand I got confused about there's two tournaments there's two

[00:47:25] tournaments over there they have World Championships yes which is each one

[00:47:29] of these individual events and then they have on the last two days or

[00:47:32] last day they have another tournament called the World Cup okay totally

[00:47:36] separate but it's at the same place but totally separate consecutive yeah yeah

[00:47:42] the world the team competition is always last right okay but it's totally

[00:47:46] different you earn qualifiers to get to play the individual events okay the

[00:47:52] team competition is totally separate and it's a select team mm-hmm you have

[00:47:57] captains co-captains we the way we doing it now is we look at USA points

[00:48:03] okay who are from different if it's all different promoters and then we look at

[00:48:08] ITSF points standings okay we look at experience on international level which

[00:48:13] means multi-table yeah and then we just look at who's hot right now who's

[00:48:18] winning all the stuff right so what we do is we pick the top player that's

[00:48:22] the captain okay then we pick two co-captains and so that's the top

[00:48:27] three players needs to get you and they choose the team they want they

[00:48:31] should know better who works good playing front versus back sure who's been who's

[00:48:35] hot right now because they got all the tournaments you know we had a committee

[00:48:38] doing it which is good but you know this way whoever's top three players

[00:48:42] they're not gonna want to choose well I like this person I want to

[00:48:45] play no they won't I think we need this person to win they're gonna

[00:48:49] choose a winning team because I would never want to be a captain of the

[00:48:52] seniors oh of course pick a losing team yeah yeah you know I want to

[00:48:54] pick the best you know so so I mean so that's kind of that's kind of the deal

[00:49:02] that's how we're doing it now so that that right there what we're doing this

[00:49:06] weekend is we had qualifiers in every event okay doubles and singles a

[00:49:11] World Series you qualify in doubles and singles and it's an ITSF

[00:49:16] qualifier so it does not count against our six that we get as USTSO

[00:49:22] and for the singles players if you win you get 700 euros when you get over there

[00:49:30] so that helps go towards your trip and for this tournament they have what

[00:49:35] they call the golden ticket that's what I want to know more about okay

[00:49:38] the golden ticket all right they're gonna have a gold series tournament

[00:49:42] they call it the golden ticket or golden series or whatever don't get

[00:49:47] mad at me free if you hear me I'd look at the flyer but it is there's

[00:49:50] a name for it okay and first place in men's singles first place in women's

[00:49:57] singles okay get what they call a gold ticket okay so they get the top maybe

[00:50:05] 12 players of the men they get the gold ticket and 12 women okay they go

    [00:50:10] to a tournament if there's a it's all wrote it's already written down

[00:50:14] somewhere so if I'm misleading or not quoting right I'm not claiming to be

[00:50:19] 100% correct but I know it's either gonna be the top 8 or top 12 maybe even

[00:50:22] top 16 top 16 will be invited to a tournament no entry fee oh okay no

[00:50:30] entry fee and there's already $25,000 guaranteed in payouts through

[00:50:37] sponsors through sponsors there's the big there we just heard it right

[00:50:42] there sponsors yeah that's yeah well you know all all all promoters would love

[00:50:50] to have sponsors for the tournaments right yeah but I know money's tight

[00:50:53] with everybody but you know wait wait wait hold on just in there for two

[00:50:59] seconds here yeah today someone showed me the championship

[00:51:04] pillow fight you're kidding I'm serious no championship it was on ESPN and

[00:51:09] it's sponsored by Dr. Pepper really Dr. Pepper well see here's the thing too

[00:51:15] here's the thing there is money out there to be to be got gotten our to be

[00:51:25] if that's right probably not from the south so I taught redneck matter of

[00:51:28] fact I've been told if I ever commentate a match it needs to be

[00:51:31] called redneck foosball commentating but anyway if they can get sponsors

[00:51:38] for cornhole for for pillow fighting whatever you know everybody says

[00:51:45] this is squeegee competitions stack and cups even but you know what people

[00:51:50] say it's hard to keep up I don't get I don't buy that you know it is hard

[00:51:55] to keep up with if you don't know foosball but if you had a segment

[00:51:58] just like just like a two or three minute segment before they show a

[00:52:02] match just tell them you know you don't spin there's passing involved

[00:52:06] there's time limits on each ride and a point counts you know just something

[00:52:10] minor like that just really know and then they can watch it and you don't

[00:52:14] have to be you know foosball players really get into it although we love to

[00:52:21] watch oh sure but you got to have like just like some I heard somebody

[00:52:24] say was you know so-and-so don't have you know let's say pick give

[00:52:29] him tell me a top player mm-hmm pick me a top player just tell me

[00:52:32] somebody top Tony Tony's reading okay all right you don't see somebody

[00:52:35] walking down the street with a Tony's freedom and shirt on you know but you

[00:52:40] will a Michael Jordan something like that we'll see foosball could get like

[00:52:43] that oh yeah if we had and see these corn hole and stuff like that they had

[00:52:48] the right people getting the right sponsors yep and it worked at the

[00:52:53] right time marketers yeah so so if we get what this is about yeah well

[00:52:58] yeah this right here is marketing foosball on the highest level yeah

[00:53:02] right here well and you know if we could get the same kind of marketing

[00:53:05] people that corn hole has I'm sure we could so if you're if you're a if

[00:53:10] you're a marketing person for corn hole please come check it out check us

[00:53:13] out about foosball we would love to get some of these let us know you

[00:53:15] know you're out there we want to know who I mean we do have we do have

[00:53:18] sponsors and this weekend a sponsor was introduced that that's with ITSF

[00:53:23] that helped bring this possible okay as a matter of fact I heard that

[00:53:28] they bought like 80 tables can we mention that sponsor do you know I

[00:53:31] don't I just don't want to say the word net wrong okay I got it's on that thing

[00:53:38] over there let's see you see that one around beside USTSO that P I can't see

[00:53:43] it right yeah you're asking the wrong guy I'm about to get hold on I got

[00:53:46] I'm about to get cataract surgery so you know I see like philoro maybe

[00:53:52] yeah you passed your drivers license test huh all right I just can't see

[00:53:57] that I just don't want to pronounce it wrong but anyway that and if you're

[00:54:01] listening and you're that person I'm sorry but I'd love to meet you so I

[00:54:05] could know how to say it right but they are a huge sponsor of ITSF and

    [00:54:09] they've partnered with them and they're they're helping this they're

[00:54:12] helping this turn around this weekend even yeah okay they bought like 80

[00:54:15] tables of 80 tornado tables to take over to Europe you know I'm excited

[00:54:21] about that but on the other hand those people over there gonna get

[00:54:24] better yeah on this table yeah so this is a I can only know what this is

[00:54:33] ITSF yeah what is the difference between that like as qualifiers and

[00:54:38] that and like the United Table soccer okay well that's what I'm saying this

[00:54:42] tournament is ITSF qualifier right all right they're giving away these

[00:54:46] qualifiers there's coming it's like an ITSF direct qualifier okay USTSO

[00:54:53] we're given qualifiers by ratio of how many players we have okay okay so with

[00:54:59] USA being big we get six qualifiers that's the maximum for each event so

[00:55:05] you have to be a member of USTSO being a USTSO term that's called as a

[00:55:10] that's ITSF sanctioned and we give six qualifiers away at different terms

[00:55:16] throughout the year in the past it's always been worlds 28 championship

[00:55:22] worlds it's our worlds sure and Texas State and Colorado State that's three

[00:55:26] tournaments and we do it each year okay okay now if somebody wins more than

[00:55:31] one well really after you win one you're not eligible to win it again oh

[00:55:35] okay so it goes to second place so a first and second have it or there's

[00:55:42] a foreigner playing with the USA player okay they can't they can't

[00:55:46] qualify together because they're from another country and this is USA

[00:55:51] right okay okay well the ladies are getting rowdy over there yeah this is

[00:56:01] how I found somebody I win senior doubles in the Florida State term a

[00:56:06] couple years ago somebody goes hey you're on the World Cup is it over no

[00:56:10] there's no way I think there might have been a big a big turning point

[00:56:16] to the match over there they want a game big yeah so anyway I go to

[00:56:20] Donald said hey Donald I qualify for you the World Cup because they told me

[00:56:27] over here that I won this seniors and that means I'm going to the World Cup

[00:56:30] he goes no no no we're like yeah and see there's other tournaments too just

[00:56:36] that that has the logos on there and it is and it is sanctioned through

[00:56:42] USTSO okay and is ITSF sanctioned event right but that don't mean it

[00:56:48] has qualifiers so there's there's only the difference between that is if it's

[00:56:53] ITSF sanctioned mm-hmm with no qualifiers you gain points okay and

[00:56:59] those points that I was talking about earlier to the top 16 yep get a travel

[00:57:03] package okay which is the 700 euros okay you can get it that away too so

[00:57:08] we try to sanction as many events as we can throughout the year and Mary

[00:57:12] Mary usually does like four different of her tournaments okay she's probably

[00:57:15] our biggest supporter USTSO well she is our biggest promoter with USTSO so just

[00:57:20] a quick question at the end of a year then all those points reset yes they

[00:57:24] reset each year okay with ITSF okay just like we do with as how we do our

[00:57:29] USTSO points or points right to reset every year zero yeah right and the

[00:57:32] members are the ones that participate well same thing with this if you're

[00:57:35] not just a member you go with that right there and at at the end of each

[00:57:40] year they have their top so many and then when it comes time to go the

[00:57:43] World Cup those people have earned is this something like last year let's see

[00:57:47] last year it was it was Sullivan Rue Tony Spreedeman and Blake Robertson

[00:57:55] all her travel practice so when I got there they got 700 euros from them

[00:57:58] fantastic well Blake did because he didn't go oh he said if he'd known

[00:58:02] he was getting a hit away well that was during Kovan you know he works

[00:58:06] in the hospital yeah he works in a hospital and respiratory so so it was

[00:58:12] gonna be kind of hard for him to go you know because he's busy back then yeah

[00:58:15] all right guys remember old friend Dave Kearney used to say this is the most fun you have with your clothes on but we said we're

[00:58:22] gonna keep it around an hour are we okay with that or you know I think

    [00:58:25] we're I think we're pretty good shape here let's see yeah we're getting

[00:58:29] close to an hour now yeah what time is it it's nine minutes after nine

[00:58:34] so well we're fixing to be done about an hour and a half yeah oh yeah

[00:58:37] yeah now we got to talk about that a little bit how amazing it is that

[00:58:40] like last night we're first two nights we're sitting here and I go Tom what are we doing?

[00:58:44] He goes 10 o'clock. I go yeah what's up? What's going on down there? He goes it's over.

[00:58:49] We're almost done yeah. It's been 10 30 each night and see we've been doing a draw each night too of

[00:58:55] everybody who's out right and you know what's so bad is hard to close

[00:58:59] entries because as soon as we close entry somebody just got beaten or out

[00:59:02] they wanted a draw so every time we've had the draw every night this week we

[00:59:06] charged $20 single elimination nice best of five okay we've had the smallest

[00:59:11] one we had so far was 42 players wow so we've been having big draws you know

[00:59:17] yeah and I think like the POTS used around $900 or something close to a

[00:59:22] thousand dollars per draw yeah me and Tom had to play Ryan and Kane today and you guys are starting to draw.

[00:59:30] Something about this tournament too is that everything was 100% payback yeah and

[00:59:40] we're still gonna probably be over 30,000 giving back to them but they I

[00:59:43] mean they paid in that and they're getting it back okay so this

[00:59:46] tournament could be bigger the more people show up the more the money

[00:59:49] they're getting and if we'd had 150 players in open singles you'd have

[00:59:53] paid back to 32nd place Wow and in open singles we had 57 I believe yeah

[00:59:59] so we weren't even you know was a third there and we were told that a lot of

[01:00:05] the people that were at the Bonzini were kind of upset because they was they

[01:00:08] want to come to USA for World Series sure sure so I you know I'm not I'm

[01:00:12] gonna step out on a limb and say I'm kind of thinking next year that we can

[01:00:18] have 400 people show up that easy that would be so yeah without that

[01:00:23] three months you know more time to talk about it and promote it oh yeah

[01:00:28] we'll be on your show to do that because that's where it's gonna happen cool

[01:00:31] because I'm not really the guy that is in touch with what's going on but I

[01:00:35] found out about a week and a half two weeks let me tell you something

[01:00:38] the jolly if you listen don't get mad at me it's a buddy of mine Jolly

[01:00:41] Lewis as a matter of fact he's the first person I qualified with me and

[01:00:44] him went to France I know no I'm sorry Germany okay apply and we went

[01:00:51] over and we got fourth in speedball and of course I was on the men's

[01:00:54] cup and we won gold medal so that was a lot of fun nice but look he calls me

[01:00:58] up to see it's this past Monday he said hey man where I haven't seen a Texas

[01:01:08] State Flyer are they playing this week yeah I started to say what rock are

[01:01:13] you living under but I said yeah there's a tournament this weekend but

    [01:01:17] it's not a Texas State it's a World Series and it's qualified oh yeah a

[01:01:24] tornado and he says oh man I must been under a rock I said I was about to tell

[01:01:30] you that but I don't want you to get mad at me he just said I've been

[01:01:33] working a lot and he's trying to get ready to retire and he hadn't been

[01:01:35] plucking you know looking at it but uh can we also mention today there

[01:01:39] is an award ceremony each day when it comes to the end of the day and

[01:01:42] they're the award they the winners of the day before and they had an

[01:01:45] award ceremony today and prior to announcing the winners of the different

[01:01:49] divisions they also gave out some awards to I don't know Don? Me? Yeah well

[01:01:57] it was um it was an award from ITSF to the the first one was to the table

[01:02:04] okay the table manufacturer their crew gave them you know thanking them and

[01:02:11] welcome them to the first inaugural yeah World Series in USA and then I

[01:02:18] gave one to Texas State team the table the table you know he got up there and

[01:02:26] he got the table staff come up here and they gave him an award for that

[01:02:29] I gave one to Wix for doing his pro shop over there yep they gave one to

[01:02:34] somebody else and then gave one to me for USTSO being a part of it I was

[01:02:40] like oh there you go that's that was well done the only other thing

[01:02:44] that I also was pretty pretty amazed about there were two people representing

[01:02:48] Tornado and Valley Dynamo were here the owner of the company right and

[01:02:53] it was Kelly Stikes and his son Trey Stikes they were here yeah yeah

[01:02:59] so that was impressive which is funny because if you remember I don't know

[01:03:04] a year or so ago when they came out and said that I guess he plays the

[01:03:09] the hockey shuffleboard and he was saying that you know we got involved in

[01:03:16] the Swiss system he would definitely be involved in it yeah but I mean it's

[01:03:23] it's exciting that that the manufacturer of the table that people

[01:03:26] are playing most on right now of course across America and 15 other

[01:03:30] countries and in the world is finally saying hey we got to go check this

[01:03:35] out we got to be there and that's that's that's fantastic I mean good

[01:03:41] things will will certainly come from that and promoting their product and

[01:03:45] getting more tables to more people in more places I mean it's a long time

[01:03:55] coming yeah yeah there's always been hardcore falling for Tornado right

[01:04:00] and they see it and they something they were they're like okay we're

[01:04:04] willing to do this or this we're willing to do this sure yeah yeah I

[01:04:10] gotta make it worth their while to be involved it's it's a ROI or return on

[01:04:14] investment and if you can clearly see the ROI then you know manufacturer

[01:04:19] like that I mean clearly they are the best well from a player's

[01:04:26] perspective the best table in the world well yeah I've said it all along

[01:04:30] you know I was never always a fan I wasn't always a fan of Tornado yeah

[01:04:34] because there was a lot different table back when we were playing oh sure but

[01:04:37] this is the best table ever built now yeah everything there's no reason

[01:04:44] not to like this table well I mean we also want to acknowledge the fact

[01:04:48] that our sponsor of foos talk live is Leonhart USA which is also a

[01:04:55] fantastic table but here's I am butchering this radio show I'm sorry that

[01:05:00] was kind of emerged a call from my son I had to make sure things okay yeah

[01:05:03] everything's good okay good so here's the thing there's gonna be more

[01:05:08] hopefully another one like this maybe next year who knows exactly what day

[01:05:12] but here's what I want to say is that could it possibly be I don't know a

[01:05:18] multi-table event not yet not yet but because this is not a multi table

[01:05:24] event this is the tornado world series of Toronto yes just like last weekend

[01:05:30] they had the Bonzini World Series right you're gonna start getting some hate

[01:05:37] and just like to have a lid yeah and like they have a Leonhart World

[01:05:43] Series yes they have a garland o world series so it will never be a

[01:05:47] multi-table but let's see what happens I mean if things grow we get

[01:05:53] clubs going we get you know we turn our our programs you know to where we have

[01:06:01] to find like Coliseums to hold us you know that yeah we don't have a big

[01:06:07] tournaments like that yeah then I can see doing a World Cup but you know

[01:06:10] it costs a lot of money to travel oh I mean your airfare is over a

[01:06:15] thousand dollars it's crazy and so I don't know I don't know how the

[01:06:19] economy is I don't know anything about Europe how they are it might be more

[01:06:22] expense for them to come this way it is and I might have more red tape to get

[01:06:25] through to get here right you know so I don't know so so it'll be held

[01:06:29] wherever it's feasible and you know truthfully I think the way it is is

[01:06:34] they bid on who gets it okay okay because you have to have a four

[01:06:39] hundred thousand dollar commitment to do this thing sure yeah yeah no mean

[01:06:43] logistically speaking that the personnel I mean everything that it's

[01:06:49] a show production for sure right this is a production yeah and to do the

[01:06:55] production and do it right to the standard by which people would expect

[01:06:59] any sporting event it costs money there's you know De Niro so I before

[01:07:05] we end this night whatever that is because me and Donald we're here for

[01:07:08] three days if you let us go on but I think we definitely how many different

[01:07:17] I don't know you what you need to call associations and whatever Mary these guys

[01:07:21] Jason Wicks how many people all came together to do something to make this

[01:07:25] well that's well me like you're the staff that well well here's the thing

[01:07:35] any to any tournament of this size or any sanction event or any event that

[01:07:42] has the importance of qualifiers getting points all that it goes to the local

[01:07:47] Federation and the only Federation here in USA is USSO so so we're involved

[01:07:52] right we got brought on a little late because you got it kind of went through

[01:07:55] a different channel to get started but that's okay I'm not worried about

[01:07:57] that sure you know but it's going now USTSO has a lot of work to do we

[01:08:05] have to we have to to grow sure because we have you know like five board members

[01:08:13] four board members and we have so much going on that it can't be done by just

[01:08:19] one person or just a couple people right and you know board members

[01:08:23] aren't supposed to do stuff you know they make decisions and help decide

[01:08:27] things you know I'm just saying they do they do stuff on that level they

[01:08:32] get the right people to do the right work yep and then they let them do the

[01:08:35] stuff and then they kind of like give guidance to me that's how it's supposed

[01:08:39] to be because like me I can't do everything and I try to do that and

[01:08:44] it don't work they don't work on your body it don't work on your your

[01:08:46] social family whatever life and oh none of that's necessary yeah right

[01:08:51] all about who's right so I gotta put I gotta start putting time limits

[01:08:55] whenever I have meetings I try to do it early in the morning or late at

[01:08:59] night so I'm not taking away from certain things yes but it's it's not and

[01:09:05] in the meeting I've had a lot of meetings were free to how it works and

[01:09:09] and they're there they get over there their federations get paid to do that

[01:09:13] work yes and I'm like what yeah they do what I'm doing all this for free

    [01:09:17] I'm retired but I said you're just tired I said I said how do y'all do

[01:09:22] that he said well over there we have four thousand members enough that

[01:09:26] pay 40 euros a you know here oh wow wow well if you do know your math and

[01:09:32] that's the money yeah so they can afford to you know not everybody gets

[01:09:36] paid but the ones that that work out of say the office help coordinate stuff

[01:09:41] to keep up with things sure you know you got to have that and and he's

[01:09:44] trying to he's trying to show a vision how USA could be and I'm okay

[01:09:48] with that I mean you know changes change is hard change is different sure

[01:09:52] but um and and he said he said I'm he's not trying to tell the promoters

[01:09:57] do something different he's just trying to help grow the sport right right

[01:10:02] right and make it a sport and he said he'll help any promoter that wants

    [01:10:05] help okay and there's something he's trying he's something he's won't

[01:10:08] introduce and like I said I don't know because I'm kind of sitting on

[01:10:12] the edge of sea waiting here too you know well here's the thing this

[01:10:16] this weekend is a catalyst for just that yeah to get people going hey that

[01:10:22] was kind of good what let's do that yeah right yeah so and see over there

[01:10:28] all their promoters work together yeah yeah they'll come together to help run

[01:10:34] a tournament yep or come together to do things yep and over here I'm not

[01:10:38] saying our promoters won't but it's like over here it's like

[01:10:45] competitive yeah it is but you know but still but we all try to work together I

[01:10:50] know sure I know I guess it's okay to say this I mean I've been told and I

[01:10:55] wasn't told it was a secret but you know David with his house of

[01:11:00] tournaments mm-hmm and Mary with IFP they've been doing a lot of talking

[01:11:04] and they have have agreed that is less confusing if we have one software

[01:11:10] and one group of points interesting and rankings so they have come together and

[01:11:16] probably by the end of this year there's just gonna be one software

[01:11:20] that's unity you heard that first right here in food stock live that's

[01:11:24] you agree and that's and that's and that's Mary and I've been talking and

[01:11:29] working together yeah she showed she showed us some stuff that her software

[01:11:33] just really kicks butt he liked it yeah and he showed her some stuff that

[01:11:36] his does and she said that kicks butt I like it and the fact that you got

[01:11:42] that's a foosball tournament that's what it should sound like you hear

[01:11:47] that cheering that's what it needs to sound like

[01:11:50] like I'm missing something right oh we were kind of kind of off the side

[01:11:57] of the the stands over here we had to our as I'm facing the stands there's

[01:12:01] the stadium and of course the the pit the pit tables and of course there

[01:12:06] big jumbotron screens but we're at the wrong angle to see what's happening

[01:12:12] they're going to a fifth game in the women's finals

[01:12:16] wow they said that is a bell and that had come back to win the fourth game to

[01:12:22] make time awesome my limb trend probably one of the toughest competitors

[01:12:27] on the planet right now as far as ladies or men doesn't matter she is so

[01:12:31] tough yeah and if they took her to five games now not saying something

[01:12:35] right there now I tell you what me and Tom are laughing because I was saying in

[01:12:41] open doubles Tom your I said there's a lot of teams here I'd rather play than

[01:12:45] some of these women yeah I wouldn't want to play on right I mean boy I

[01:12:49] tell you what those little girls start beating up on you're like take your

[01:12:53] manhood a little bit because they're that good it is what they're just

[01:12:58] just saying when they introduced the USA team and Isabella they said and playing

[01:13:06] forward we have Isabella's tally and in the net playing goalie you better more

[01:13:11] now I'm looking over there better than you know it's because that Isabella has

[01:13:18] an incredible yeah yeah yeah it's a it's a I know hey everybody listen to

[01:13:27] I know you probably still add your seat for this event and just to give y'all a

[01:13:33] little heads up I was on the show here with Tom and Randy hey Randy if you're

[01:13:39] listening miss you buddy yeah man you're gonna love it next time oh yeah

[01:13:43] but um he anyway we did a show on how to set up your coral account yes

[01:13:55] it's at app a PP dot table soccer dot org well if you want to watch this

[01:14:00] tournament and keep up with it you get that same setup recover your app and

[01:14:05] you can watch the rackets and they'll have in the future live streaming on

[01:14:13] three tables that's built in this software into the software already tied

[01:14:18] to a YouTube channel they did the Bonzini tournament like that yeah and

[01:14:22] they would do it I know and it's free yeah okay and and I watched the

[01:14:29] tournament last weekend a lot of time and it was really cool yeah they had six

[01:14:33] hundred and fifty players over 643 something like that yeah and they and

[01:14:39] they they didn't get finished by 1030 but but but they they still didn't go

[01:14:43] too late that's amazing but they had over a hundred I had a hundred tables

[01:14:47] when was the last time in this country on this soil 600 foosball

[01:14:53] players showed up in one place to play well I mean we had our worlds two

[01:14:57] years ago and it was close right at 600 and then we had one last year was a

[01:15:04] little bit less but still over 500 yeah we had a tee we had Hall of Fame this

[01:15:11] past year okay I could have swore we had over 500 but it was right at 500

[01:15:15] so something like that so so it's close okay but if you take what

[01:15:19] showed up for for that that tournament Europe 600 players and they decide

[01:15:25] here okay well let me let me let me stop about that yeah but I was also told

[01:15:30] that same weekend that same weekend they had those 643 players there they

[01:15:37] have probably 100 tournaments in the area of other people playing yeah yeah

[01:15:40] so so they have more people play of course than we do right that's why

[01:15:45] it's tough but yeah you're right out of those 600 people Farid said

[01:15:49] probably 250 of would have come yep yeah so I'm thinking our 200 there 250

[01:15:55] that's over 400 right there you're gonna need a bigger hotel so we talked

[01:16:02] about this kid from Australia we have briefly mentioned because he I think

[01:16:06] he just lost a brand and then who's brand would do it yeah we were just

[01:16:14] playing a match over here something they were all shaking hands I thought

[01:16:17] yeah that was for third this kid is right cuz Ryan Moore beating him he put

[01:16:22] him out he is phenomenal yeah I hate to bring back my old friend Johnny

[01:16:32] Horton but Johnny was like 15 16 playing like this kid I think it's

[01:16:37] better oh yeah I just yeah yeah yeah no I think you're right I think you're

[01:16:41] right just unstoppable we had a brief earlier for sure y'all can feel it can't

[01:16:48] you can't y'all hear this this is society oh this is I know I'm sitting

[01:16:51] here going Tom cut this thing you know with that I think maybe we can because

[01:16:57] okay I guess you can tell the European tennis court nobody else

[01:17:00] rice rice so you know that's tough they're having to play the opponents

[01:17:05] and the crowd yeah well yeah but here's the funny part when we go

[01:17:08] over there that's what we do we play in the arena here's the funny part last

[01:17:12] night when the kid was playing I don't know his name I thought he called the

[01:17:15] kid no no he was playing Ryan Stefan everybody's screaming from their

[01:17:21] country yeah I'm like dude are there any Americans here yeah right is it

[01:17:27] just right it was on fire he beat Tony yep he beat Ryan yep he beat who else

[01:17:35] he was playing great he beat some other people too and then he got stopped by

[01:17:41] Tommy jr. but no this is the most amazing thing about that match was he

[01:17:46] shot four push shots on Ryan Moore in the same spot yeah and drilled yep how

[01:17:51] many people have ever shot two shots in a row on short on Ryan said this

[01:17:55] is what Ryan said he said my money's on the kid he has a two-bar

[01:17:59] anybody got two-bar they got my they got I got yeah oh yeah no god about

[01:18:04] but after he lost to Tommy he went over and just practically fell out on him

[01:18:08] stuff and he just had his head back and I just went over to him I said you

[01:18:13] have made a statement this weekend you have beat some Giants and I said if

[01:18:19] you ever come over to play in some other terms like IFU others don't

[01:18:22] think you're gonna come in as expert so Mary if you're listening he needs

[01:18:28] to be probably a master that's a really really good and I don't want

[01:18:33] forget about Tommy because I'm telling you I told Tommy today in my the girls

[01:18:42] on the table a bank Mitch nofke on the top that's another big kid right

[01:18:49] there but anyway so go ahead I said we're talking in our indoor voice yes

[01:18:57] we're now at our golf match in my top ten matches of all time I to him or

[01:19:03] Tommy when he beat Tony after taking time off in Texas I was there for that

[01:19:10] then when he played that kid yes he went next level oh he's got he's got

[01:19:16] another he's got another speed that everybody else doesn't have well I

[01:19:19] never told a kid I said you make some major comps but don't don't feel down

[01:19:23] with yourself yeah yeah you're ready to wrap this thing so I think I think

[01:19:29] Americans are behind it's being real quiet over there I just want to say that

[01:20:16] that kid is kicking everybody's tail but he has a little bit of yeah

[01:20:21] barrier with the language language that's fine it's kind so he's kind
