[00:02:05] FoosTalk Live back on the air once again at number 217 by the way. Hey there, I'm Tom Robinson. Welcome. We're going to be talking about foosball tonight as we always do.
[00:02:16] And of course, it pays to have conversation about foosball to talk to somebody who really wants to talk about foosball, which would be the ultimate traveler in our midst. Randy Raposo, what's up, Randy? From what I was told, they over exceeded expectation with their turnout. Wow. Okay.
[00:02:35] So everything went well. Everything went well. And then again, let me see. Samsonite, little Sammy, pro doubles, pro singles, second and open doubles. Russell O'Shauna, I hope I'm not jacking his name up, but he was in both pro finals. So good showing for him.
[00:02:52] Tom Yor, Dusty Bambinik, open mixed winners. Ryan Moore, Steve Biny, open doubles winners. Tom Yor, Sam Dejan, second place. And then big win for my boy, Brandon Munoz, getting a dip in on Tom Yor, who's been kind of dominating singles.
[00:03:10] So I know Brandon is trying to really get focused with Worlds coming up. Had a really great match, double dipped Tommy first time. So a great win for him. I want to shout out a couple of my boys, Phil Sales, Matt Contoys had a good weekend.
[00:03:26] Oh yeah, they did. Yeah. Third and expert doubles. They had a top ten finish in open doubles. Beat some really strong teams. I was really, really proud of those guys. Matt's a tough player by the way. Matt and Phil are both great players.
[00:03:39] Yeah, you know, Matt, the thing about Matt, he just, he doesn't get around. You could beat the crap out of him and he's just like, eh, whatever. You know, he just, he's steady and he's consistent. And Phil, if Phil played more, Phil would be a beast.
[00:03:55] I mean, Phil's a beast physically, but he just lacks... Oh yes. He just lacks experience, you know, but if Phil played more, man, he'd be, he'd be really, really tough. You know, I think a couple years of touring, Phil would be a pro player legitimately.
[00:04:08] So, you know, and I want to shout out my boy Redneck too. He told me he wanted to listen tonight first time. So him and JJ Boulay, they had a really good showing in Mississippi State last weekend, which brings us to our guest tonight.
[00:04:25] A really great showing in Expert Doubles last weekend. And from what I understand, this is not the first time, but we have Logan Hearn and Tyler Flynn, a team to be reckoned with, with us tonight for our players spotlight. Welcome guys. What's happening?
[00:04:41] Thank you. Yeah, like you said, it's not the first time. I mean, we've won, I think that was number five, four or five. Wait, five expert titles? No, like three expert. Three or four I believe because we won a lot of like little locals and stuff too.
[00:05:01] So like, but three expert titles. And I was telling Tom earlier that we've, we went on a run of just getting like seconds and thirds and like rookie and amateur for a very, very long time before we finally. We would dominate everybody.
[00:05:16] And then once finals came around, something happened. We'd get double death or something. Interesting. We'll have to get into that tonight. That's a, I think that's a, there's something about the psychological edge of being able to close the deal.
[00:05:30] Right? So, you know, you can get just so close and then never make it, you know, it's like always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Exactly. And Tom and Randy, I just want to say thanks for having us on. Yeah. Really appreciate it.
[00:05:43] I love what you guys are doing here on Foosball Radio. And I've been listening for, I told you Tom a long time. So yeah, man, really happy to be here. Appreciate that. Good to be back. It's been a while. It's yeah, you too, Randy. And you too, Randy.
[00:05:58] But so no, it's the first time Logan was on the show. We're talking back when it was just a monthly podcast, something called The Next Generation, which was the second episode of Foosball Radio. Logan, at that time, man, you were just, I think, great.
[00:06:17] Were you like in 10th or 11th grade at that point? I had to be going into 10th grade, I believe. Yeah. It was, yeah. Because I was around the time of the second World Cup. And yeah, right. So you're going to compete in the World Cup.
[00:06:34] And I don't know if we ever got a chance to ask you about that. Well, that was the one in Spain. Overall, the team did pretty good. I wish I had better results. But the competition over there is just, yeah, it's something there.
[00:06:54] I mean, they the way they decide their team, whereas, you know, over here, we just have qualifiers. If you win, you're on a team. Well, over there, if you win, you're on the team. But someone beats you.
[00:07:06] Doesn't matter if you have one bad game, if they beat you, they take your spot. So it's it's fierce over there. Yeah, no kidding. In the junior division, because I've talked with so many of the German kids, Czech Republic, Austria. I mean, they're they're tough.
[00:07:24] I mean, Germany has like three or four junior teams. No doubt. Geez. That's what what was your favorite table? Well, probably either Leonhardt or the new Roberto sport. The newer the newer version of the Roberto sport was actually so much better than the last. Huh?
[00:07:47] It just it I don't know. It just felt natural like I didn't really have to practice on it at all. It just happened. So your skills transferred over very easily to the new table. Yes. Yeah, I'm looking to get another table to kind of like broaden my game.
[00:08:07] And I've talked to a couple of people. I talked to Miriam and Callum in Mississippi about what to get. And they suggested a Garlando if I really want to broaden my game. How do you feel about Garlando? You like it? They are good.
[00:08:24] I would honestly probably put it at the low, the lowest of my liking. I put a Bonzini above it. Really? Yeah, I mean, it's just the men are just so small. That's that's the only thing I have with it is the men are so small.
[00:08:44] Story of my life buddy. I'm used to it. It's fine. You make do. No, I figure it out. You figure it out. See, that's what I was going to get. But they said that the well, I know. Yeah. Use a food stock. Use food. I put it in.
[00:09:03] I got my discount. Yeah, I use a promo. I already got my discount in there. I just got to pull the trigger. So but I'm torn because Miriam and Callum and Miriam suggest they said that Leonheart was too easy.
[00:09:20] Now I've played on both and they said it's yeah, they like it's the you know, the table like remember the warrior tables with the balls like you just catch everything. It just everybody.
[00:09:32] They said they said garlando like the garlando players transitioning the tornado always did better because the way the table played the men were smaller. If you could grab loose balls and do things on garlando the transition of tornado was like it.
[00:09:44] You could do it on tornado much easier. They said Leonheart was just Leonheart was too good of a table. Does that make sense? Or as much as I guess if I'm putting money up to get a table, I'm going to want that premium feel.
[00:09:58] And I think the Leonheart has that for me. I you know, Logan, you have a Leonheart, don't you? Or not a Leonheart. Yeah. I remember when Logan got it and we just went over there and playing tornado was great.
[00:10:12] But like it was just so much fun to get some table time on a new table. The Leonheart just feels so premium. Yeah, yeah. So so playing on other to see and I've had this conversation with people when you start playing on other tables, right?
[00:10:27] And I know the answer but I'm going to ask you guys, do you feel like it's a detriment or you know, does it help your tornado game? Tyler, go ahead. I think for me, I've not ever I don't think about it too deeply.
[00:10:43] Now I've been with people like I remember one time out. We have a friend in Mississippi, Wayne Carroll, who has all the tables except for one. I think I don't think he has a Leonheart but he has a Bonzini or Garland. He doesn't have Roberto. He has Leonheart.
[00:11:00] He doesn't have Roberto. He had a warrior in that space. But we used to go over there. I remember one time Shannon Coley came over and he messed around on the Garland for a minute. He was like, no, this is going to mess my tornado game up.
[00:11:13] And he got upset about it because I think we were beating them on it or something. But I don't know. I think when I'm at specifically a Texas state, they usually have one or two other tables, whether it's a Roberto sport or Leonheart and in between playing tournaments.
[00:11:29] I mean the tournament when I won with Koji, when me and Logan won Texas State, I'm on that other table in between matches and stuff. Cool. I just for me it's fun to kind of play the back pin style, the euro style playing and practice things.
[00:11:44] Now when I get back on the tornado, there's a little bit of an adjustment period but I don't think it if anything I think it makes me more well rounded player to kind of have the feel and just being able to track the ball with my eyes on the different tables.
[00:11:58] Yeah, I think I think the level of finesse that it helps you build. You know because tornado is such a hard fast game certain players just like I'll tell you Chris Folsom I love Chris. He's just every everything he does. Chris is a hammer.
[00:12:13] Chris is never a nail right? He's everything is just like. So, and, and, and I've tried I'm like dude you just need a little finesse, and he's, he's got, you know, Chris is smooth and he can do things really well.
[00:12:27] But, and I've told him I said you got to play on some of these other tables he's like I'm not going to do it. It's just not gonna like kind of like Shannon he's like I'm not going to do it.
[00:12:35] But, you know for me, I want to be able to do that. To just be able to improve here. Right. So what about you Logan What are you thinking. Someone on the same lines of Tyler and what you said Randy.
[00:12:52] Compared to tornado like you said you can hit the ball as hard as you want to and you're going to catch it. I mean nine times out of 10 on tornado you're going to catch it regardless of how hard you get it.
[00:13:03] The other tables it takes more precise and pinpoint interactions with passing shooting for it to actually go like monzini for example you hit the ball straight, there's not 80% chance it's not going to go straight.
[00:13:19] Because it is just, and I don't want to say the table sucks but sucks. I don't know the best way to describe it.
[00:13:31] But it's just so precise that one slip up that you could make many times on tornado you cannot make on those other tables, or it'll cost you. Yeah, yeah. Sorry to cut you off. You're good.
[00:13:47] I think about it whenever I'm playing defense on the other tables. It's so much more forgiving on the tornado because you may slip up in and leave a middle but there's so much man, and such a smaller goal that you got to have someone who can play a Randy repose
[00:14:04] a level to pick that middle where when you're on garland or if you're on Leonhart I mean, if you spread those, if you're playing corners like the middle is so big and that, and in that way I think when I'm playing defense on these other tables.
[00:14:21] I have to truly think about what I'm doing, and we're on tornado like I'm a little more free flowing on tornado. Right. And you can just kind of ebb and flow. Yeah, it makes sense. You know, I just, I really want to see.
[00:14:39] I don't know if it's going to happen but you know, like you said going to Europe, it's, you know, the, the field is thicker. There's, you know, the tape I mean they're more tables so there's just more choices more foosball to play we're here it's
[00:14:51] we're playing tornado obviously if you go into the Carolinas you can play some Bonzini but I would love to see different types of foosball grow here and, and I know now like, I know there are players here in the south there are several different players that have different
[00:15:05] types of tables and, you know, but I for me personally I, you know, in my home I, I'm going to be getting another table, I need to I want to, I, you know, I just I, I enjoy playing different styles of game, and I think it really really helps to build my tornado game
[00:15:21] getting to the next level I think it's going to make a difference doing that so you know another thing obviously is just going out and competing and you know you guys have been doing that went to Mississippi finals to extra doubles you played Michael Lee and Chris Kasek
[00:15:36] Yeah, correct that I pronounce his name right. Yep. Yeah, so did you got you guys play them for king seat. Yes. No, we played them the next or to get the king. So you put them in the losers. That's right.
[00:15:49] Okay, and then, and then they came back, it went to sets right. It did it against that third game. Yeah, so we get to talk about this yeah because I had a match to play and we didn't start until you guys finished, because we wanted to watch.
[00:16:02] So, talk, talk to us about it. I mean Michael Michael Lee is Mike's good, and I feel like he's kind of like one of those.
[00:16:13] One of those guys that when he catches fire. He can roll you pretty good and you got to figure out how to stop him. He's kind of emotional he likes to yell and, and that's not a bad thing but how did the first set go.
[00:16:28] First, we, I think we kind of steamrolled the first game. And then like you said Michael picked up Chris started both of them started picking up as a team.
[00:16:41] And it just our fire started to go away as there's got higher. And it just kept going back and forth.
[00:16:50] And then ended up in the third set, our second set third game and I was like, oh, we're here. Okay. So yeah, I went back and watched. I went back and watch and I personally I thought we were doing really well and you're so right about my Michael's a momentum
[00:17:06] player. Once the momentum kind of gets on his side and that trajectory starts happening like he just takes full he gets full stride and it's kind of hard to slow him down. And the only person that can slow him down is, is himself really.
[00:17:20] And so, yeah, we just kind of got off I mean I noticed a lot of my passes like Logan would get a piece of like Logan get a piece of it but it wouldn't land quite right or, you know, on the five we were getting kind of out five there for a second and once Michael.
[00:17:40] When we first played them and to put them in the losers, we got five barred like we lost one game because Chris scored two out of the back and Michael toward three five bars.
[00:17:49] I was I think that he's the one again we lost it. And we said, we took a step away from the table and we said look, this is what we're going to do. And we made that adjustment.
[00:17:59] We were like we're not going to go into this final and get five barred a bunch. And I don't know if you notice Logan but he didn't shoot but maybe like once or twice on the five bar shots because he knew that we were kind of zoning for it at that point.
[00:18:11] So he's not enough to compensate he knew enough to adjust his own game because he realized, um, these guys are onto my, onto my, my maneuver here so. So what did he do in return?
[00:18:23] I think we really tried to force them to pass. And I can't, Logan, I said let's let him go lane every time because what he has is a wall pass and the five bars at least in the in the in the matches we were playing.
[00:18:37] I said let him go lane like let's force them into the lane. And Logan you suddenly what was your experience when we when he finally started eliminating shooting the five bar and you were defending his his passing like what were you thinking?
[00:18:52] My biggest thing was to just make him. He's a very fast player and once he plays fast that's when things go his way. That's just how he plays like a lot like Brandon Munoz you know, pick the speed picks up he just gets better, you know.
[00:19:09] And so my biggest thing is after those five bar shots I was like okay do whatever you can to make him take his time. That that was what was constantly going through my head because most players if they play fast and they're accurate when they're fast.
[00:19:26] I'm not saying this applies to Michael but most players that when they have when they're resorted to taking their time. That's when they start to fall apart and that's that's what I was kind of hoping for because I mean who doesn't want their opponent to fall apart when they're playing a match.
[00:19:42] So my biggest thing trying to make him take his time and not giving him quick easy shots like five bar shot.
[00:19:54] So no no easy points. Yeah, that makes sense. I mean so let me ask you this right? So you guys come out in the final steamrolling the first game right and and I'm guilty of that I've been guilty of this. Do you think maybe subconsciously you kind of let off the gas a little bit?
[00:20:09] Possibly so. I mean I was still passing fairly decently. Chris just got on my shot. Chris is an excellent goalie. You know what I was doing. I was kind of doing what Michael was doing. I was shooting within one to three you know two to three seconds every time and I was blistering them.
[00:20:32] And then I was like okay that might change this game. So I started taking my time on my shot. That's when I noticed our sort of blocking me he started blocking me and it's funny because my dad would always tell me you need to take your time on your shot.
[00:20:47] You're gonna make it at 100% of the time and he came up to me after that first set and he was like you know you shot 100% when you shot in three seconds. I was like you never said that before us and he was like well then do it again.
[00:21:00] I was like okay and then I started doing that and then just got my shot back.
[00:21:07] Well what I noticed because I didn't see much of the first set but in the second set I know you guys won the first game they won the second game and in the second game I noticed Michael just got more possessions right?
[00:21:22] He shot if I remember he shot like almost 100% in the second game. Wow. And then and then in the third game you just you guys.
[00:21:31] In the third game we started swapping we just you know last resort let's try swapping see what that works. And I blocked Michael fairly well you know Tyler would block his passing. I wasn't blocking his passing. Tyler got up there blocked a pass.
[00:21:45] Two passes. I think two passes. Two timeouts you guys with the thing that I think made the difference in the third game was the way you managed the table control the pace and you out possession him in the third game so and you beat him what five two in the third game?
[00:22:01] It wasn't yeah it wasn't so you know and I think that's just you know look man you guys obviously you guys been playing together for a while but that's just a sign of a good strong team.
[00:22:09] Now those guys they're a winning team they've won at the X I think they've won at the amateur level they've won at the expert level there they're a solid solid team. Oh yeah for sure.
[00:22:18] It was probably one of the most exciting matches of the weekend so you know.
[00:22:23] It was definitely our tough it every time I see them if me and Tyler are playing anytime I see Michael and Chris I know that that's more than likely going to be our toughest match.
[00:22:34] Just because they play so well together it's just there's not a lot of teams that can play that great together I mean they are.
[00:22:44] So they have it and they tend to be playing against you guys mostly in the southern tournaments I mean if have you seen them at places like worlds and other locations.
[00:22:54] They didn't go to worlds last year and I don't know if he's I talked to Michael I don't know if he's going to worlds this year I don't know if Chris does.
[00:23:04] Like that could change because you know they've been like you said they've been kicking butt a lot recently so they may try it. And I mean I if if they do go I have good hopes that they will more than likely win expert doubles.
[00:23:20] Yeah, we have finished I mean they're really strong team and Michael's an exciting player I mean I I love watching Michael play I'm not crazy about playing as my was like he'll slingshot me and that'll just like get under my skin but he's
[00:23:33] got one of the things I'm like it's like but the thing is sometimes I'll block Michael's slingshot and I'll like look up at him he's always laughing you know like he always is like taking a shot and he'll just like laugh it off like it whether he makes it or gets blocked and I think.
[00:23:49] I think I think they're going to do really well going forward if they go to worlds I'm anticipating you know a really. Top three. Top five. podium finish if not if not a first place finish. Michael's what's 18? 17, 18? He's older than me he's 23.
[00:24:07] Really? I thought he was much younger for some reason. No he's older than me. Okay. I guess the person. He's not much older than me I think he's about either 22 or 23 now.
[00:24:16] Yeah I was thinking he was he was still still under 20 but that's that's my that's how bad my memory is. So speaking of which Tyler we you know we haven't been on the show before it's only it's always customary for us to ask you the question.
[00:24:30] First of all, when is the first time you saw a foosball table? How old were you and what kind of table was it? So probably the first time I ever saw one was at a YMCA.
[00:24:41] I was in like after school thing and I was probably 10 maybe or so and I remember getting on the foosball table and having like a natural ability to just kind of like find the ball.
[00:24:55] And I think with new players what I find with new players is you can tell really quickly who can find the ball like thinking of those rods as an extension of your body and to be able to use them.
[00:25:06] Use your hand eye coordination to find them put that man on the ball. And so I always knew that I could like do that and then it's interesting my uncle Mike Flynn he grew up playing foosball he grew up playing foosball with Logan's dad JJ. Nice.
[00:25:22] And we're all from kind of the same area Florence Mississippi. Right. And and when I was 13 my mom also played when she was younger due to just being associated with my uncle.
[00:25:34] And so when I was 13 I actually played my first ever foosball tournament on a tornado table at a local bowling alley Donald Wilson was running. You're one of those.
[00:25:45] But I was like I had such a surface level introduction to the game and then nothing for 10 15 years and then whenever I was probably about 23 my my uncle invited me I moved back to central Mississippi my uncle invited me to come to a D.Y.P.
[00:26:04] And I was just coming to watch and I got the actually where I met you was that was it a D.Y.P. at Toby Sullivan's Toby at Toby Sullivan's. Yeah so we're at Toby Sullivan's and his wife Teresa was like you gotta play you gotta play.
[00:26:20] So she puts me in and I drew a picture miles. We went to an hour and I remember him being very upset about it.
[00:26:28] And not like to me but you just you just read the body language because I was brand new like green you know and couldn't do anything with the ball had no idea what I was doing playing defense and but I remember leaving that D.Y.P.
[00:26:45] And thinking like I'm never going to feel like this again and got on Craigslist and I found a twelve hundred dollar tornado table in Alabama. I don't know who was selling it. Wow. But we bought it like two days later. Nice. And things things change from there.
[00:27:01] What was the first time you went to a major major tournament and how'd that go.
[00:27:06] So in the that would have been so that all that time that I went to Toby is the D.Y.P. and the time I bought my food table that was like early August of 2017 and then a month or two later was Mississippi State and I showed up to Mississippi State and I played beginner double singles rookie double singles amateurs double singles to and out and everything except for amateur singles.
[00:27:35] I mean amateur doubles me and my uncle played amateur doubles and we won the whole thing. Whoa. And I got a mention I played Logan Hearn. So I went to and out and everything but one amateur doubles and I think from that point on I was just. Dang.
[00:27:52] Oh yeah. That's amazing. But that's a testament to my uncle Mike. He carried this beginner all the way through. We played some tough teams and Tony Layton and Logan Hearn that match was like a like an hour and a half ordeal. Probably longer than that.
[00:28:10] Two full sets like an hour and a half probably. I remember. Let's go Uncle Mike. True. Uncle Mike. Let's go. Seriously. That's the guy I was playing with Tony Layton. He's from Mississippi. He wears a glove.
[00:28:26] He wears a glove when he plays and he doesn't play with he can't wear a glove and play with the wraps. I don't know why. I don't know. But so I didn't use wraps that whole game and we were constantly switching.
[00:28:39] So I had this rosin powder that Tyler Tyler remembers I used to give him I still give him some. It's older than me. The bottle is older than me. And it's still like some of the tackiest stuff.
[00:28:51] I was just using that on the bare handles and just ripping shots out of the back. Nice. And somehow we still lost. Tony Layton. Logan was like 15 or something. Yeah. That young arm man I'm telling you. I wish I had a 15 year old arm.
[00:29:08] I can barely shoot the ball now. Get out of here. Come on I watched you play last weekend. You got it man. There's some great moments. Randy's got it. Don't let him. Randy's got it. He complains all the time about this. I mean come on.
[00:29:22] Listen I came home from Mississippi and I couldn't I couldn't move for like four days. My arm hurt so bad. You got to start doing what Hannah does and icing your arm at night. She donks her hands in ice water. I've had two shoulder surgeries.
[00:29:37] I tore my rotator cuff or as a sweet southern gentleman said my rotisserie cup. Back in when was my first one I think was like 19. I had it done and then back in 21 I had it done again. So now this one's torn.
[00:29:54] This one I can barely pick up so 20 years of hockey man full contact sport will jack you up and now I love foosball. So like I put off these surgeries because I don't want to not play foosball but I just it's and this my wrist clicks.
[00:30:08] It just clicks all the time. So you get you some PT dude. Yeah. No I've done. I've done it. Look I just want to play foosball one day.
[00:30:18] I'm not going to be able to and when that happens I'll stop but until then I'm just going to keep doing it. That's it. I don't care. I do. I ice my body. You have to write.
[00:30:29] I ice my body and I try to eat right when I'm at a tournament I try to eat right. I mean for the most part and get rest and do everything you're supposed to do.
[00:30:38] But it's just you know man you guys are you guys are in your 20s when you're my age you know you're still playing foosball. Let me know how it goes. It's going to be a good time.
[00:30:45] I will admit after this last tournament my arm was killing me because when I shoot my pull shot is just it's awful. Yeah. After the fact. Imagine imagine being Tom's age. My goodness. Yes. Continue. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. Being so being so handsome and intelligent. It's a burden.
[00:31:10] It's a burden. Not everyone can rock this at Tom's Tom you go. It's a struggle. It's a struggle. I was by the way born with these on my head. Just just saying. Oh yeah.
[00:31:21] It's like this is all I could do for a living because this is like glued on. But no came out with a Mike and heads up right. Yeah that's right. Golden voice. Yeah it was it was early on. No it's it's it's early on. It's early on.
[00:31:35] It's early on. It was it was early on. No it's it's interesting because I think that we've seen some evolution going on here when it comes to not just just the way people play but the age at which people start.
[00:31:49] You know we've seen of course we can talk about Sammy but he's in a he's an abomination when it comes to playing when he was what seven eight years old. Yeah. And yeah.
[00:31:59] I think Nina had I think Nina had a plan when he was like five or six. Yeah exactly. You know standing standing on the box for the first five or six years of his play.
[00:32:08] But I would say a lot of people and Tyler you just mentioned your uncle man. I mean he got you into this. It's like you're you're literally second generation. And of course Logan we know about your dad. I mean this is this is what's going on right now.
[00:32:22] How do we bring some people in that are that are not necessarily already in the club. I think it has a lot to do with I was kind of speaking to it earlier off airs. We need and in various regions like a centralized organization of some sort.
[00:32:42] I think it's so decentralized here and I'm just thinking about us in the south like yeah there's a cluster in Alabama that you know they play.
[00:32:51] And I've been over there to some of your locals Randy and especially when I was living kind of close to you guys Madison I've been to Madison once and I've been to is it Coleman the one that's outside of Birmingham.
[00:33:03] Yeah I've been over there and then I think leads were you in leads leads. That's it. And you know and then Mississippi is kind of central Mississippi. There's a little group up in Memphis. Not many of those players get out on tour very often.
[00:33:18] And now since I moved down to Louisiana I noticed like there's a large player base down here and really good players ever since you know Brandon's moved over. Of course we got the ruse and I think Marion and Callum and Callum just moved to New Orleans or Lafayette.
[00:33:37] So they're in Lafayette. There's just a huge player base. How do you go about getting those player bases integrated with one another on like maybe a regional scale but then how you know getting new players in for me it's so difficult.
[00:33:51] I've always come back to the discussion of it's an entry into the sport is expensive.
[00:33:57] You know how many kids want to hang out at a bar you know on a Tuesday night or a Wednesday night or Thursday night even if they do even if you get them into the bar and they play and they get really interested well now they have to face the fact that a table is two thousand dollars.
[00:34:14] I just think entry is there's a lot of barriers to entry for the sport. So in any way that we can break down those barriers that's going to be the way you get young people especially involved in the game.
[00:34:26] Right Logan I remember you saying when we were first talking back in the back in 2018 that you had really no scene in your neighborhood. I mean you and your dad playing and you had to travel to find a scene.
[00:34:40] That was before we just now started getting weeklies about 20 30 minutes from my house. But yeah before that when the last time I was on it was the only time I got to play is if we scheduled something with like Dewey Culpepper Shannon Keith Bates all them. Right.
[00:35:00] And that was rare. I mean that was I mean it was also hard because I was in school. But the only actual practice I got was if I practiced by myself and then I went to a state tournament.
[00:35:13] Yeah I mean that was that was my competition was state tournaments. So and then when the new player finds out that there's no substitution to like getting out on tour to actually yeah like really improve at a fast rate. You have to be out on tour.
[00:35:30] You also have to spend a lot of time just consuming foosball content. I mean I told you like videos.
[00:35:37] Fortunately I was working a job and I was able to like buy a table and then I was also able to purchase an inside those the collection and I lived watching foosball for several years and I really attribute that to a lot of my own success.
[00:35:52] And then me and Logan playing together I've kind of watched some of these great goalies and some of these great partnerships. I think Tony watching Tony and Rob play throughout the years and just kind of seeing their system. I mean me and Logan do this now.
[00:36:04] I've really tried to impress upon him like the value of us coming out of the timeout or a stop ball with a plan to play.
[00:36:12] I'll tell Logan we'll get scored on or something or it'll be a really important point and like they have the shot or something but also tell Logan OK next time I get the ball. This is what we're doing.
[00:36:22] And because you can watch Tony and Rob and you see they come out of a timeout and they do some wild pass and it's like they talked about that. Yes beforehand.
[00:36:32] So I think for a new player to get in and actually integrate themselves into the community and the sport and get good quick. There's so many things I have to do so many barriers I have to jump.
[00:36:42] You know you can hop on YouTube and watch football day for free. So that's definitely something I recommend people do new players do. But if you're not getting the table time that you need you know that's that's why I'm going to do so much for you.
[00:36:55] It's a challenge and that's why we're grateful to Michael Stahl. I mean he's just been he's been really picking up the ball here with with foosball clubs and you know it's a it's a tough road.
[00:37:07] But I think there's there's a there's a path to the future and I just just say and I probably talk this to death but the ITSF was here earlier this year Memorial Day weekend in Dallas Texas.
[00:37:19] Man they showed us some some some interesting possibilities for the future just just in the setup alone man it was it was just the way it looked.
[00:37:28] I can see if somebody saw that on a stream and watch you know that whole thing unfold and watch the play by play even if you're not a foosball player like man I want to be in that place that looks that looks like a lot of fun man.
[00:37:42] Yeah. The perception and the optics are attractive. Yeah I think that's one thing that foosball has been missing for a long time is just the appeal of the I mean like for us we're players we know why we love foosball.
[00:37:56] We just it's we're addicted we love to play foosball. We enjoy the game going to a tournament like I don't know about you guys but for me it's like you know a week or two weeks ramping up before the tournament.
[00:38:07] I'm going through my routine and then the night before I can't sleep because all I can think about is I just want to get there and play and you know but for you know but but for people that that don't or people that are new you know what's what's the appeal like you said Tyler it's you know there are barriers.
[00:38:23] You know in order to be good you have to you have to be playing constantly you have to be practicing you have to be well practiced.
[00:38:30] You have to be competing all this stuff costs money and you know I mean just like anything else but we you know what's the thing. What is the thing that's going to just make people see foosball and go yeah I want to do that.
[00:38:44] I want to do that. I mean I you know I think you know just more pretty girls would attract more guys obviously. How do we do that. We have a few we have a few already sorry to say.
[00:38:57] I know I know I know I know I'm just saying like what do we do man. We got it. We got to rent people or something like I don't know. That's not a terrible idea. It's been done. Ring girls ring ring girls ring girls right.
[00:39:14] Oh man Tom I think you made a valuable point though about the production quality of of what took place in Dallas. What was that the tornado series.
[00:39:23] Yeah that when I saw the video and the production coming out of there I was like astonished that we've never that was World Cup quality production. Right.
[00:39:33] If we could do that on a regular basis and you know you mentioned the price tag associated with that it costs a lot of money to do something like that. But if we could get to a point where that was just the standard standard. Yep exactly.
[00:39:47] I think we would we would grow very quickly at that point. It's because we would just perception is reality right and people perceive it as a professional sport. They kind of see that the aesthetic is really nice and appealing.
[00:39:59] I think this is going to attract people in general. I think about you know as a kid watching something you know a sport like oh I don't know like like NASCAR.
[00:40:10] You know we were into really into watching that on TV and we saw you know just some amazing superstars doing their thing back in the 60s 60s and 70s. And now NASCAR is just massive.
[00:40:23] It's multi billion dollars back in the day in the 60s it was yeah it was it was making some money but it was nowhere near that.
[00:40:30] So it's like OK their production value got better as time went on more people watching more more money put into the into the the actual video. And I think that's where you know foosball has been really lacking in that regard. It's been difficult.
[00:40:46] You had and it meant I love Jim Stevens to death. He's a great guy. He's he's the best play by play guy ever. But his he was working by himself. It was just him by himself and 30 years of that. How do you do that and maintain that?
[00:41:00] I mean kudos but or scale it. Yeah it's it's there's there's some signs of life here. I.T.S.F. Modern Foosball is doing a great job too. But man we got to we got to step up our game there for sure.
[00:41:15] Yeah yeah NASCAR you turn left Tom just turn left where they turn and now left. We didn't care. We didn't care left again cornhole. You're throwing a bag at a box. These guys got sponsors and jerseys and ESPN and all this stuff.
[00:41:32] And I mean break dancing made it to the Olympics. Yeah. Mississippi State 20 22. I remember the one that Shannon threw at that holiday and we were sitting in the restaurant eating. Chris and I looked up at the TV ESPN's got team tag professional tag on bag on.
[00:41:55] And I'm like bro how are we here? How are we here at a state tournament in Mississippi? And they got tag on TV like we can't get on TV. I think foosball is just as exciting as tag or cornhole.
[00:42:09] You know I mean and the thing is that like like Tyler said the perception is reality. It's not even so much about that. I mean the game is exciting but the players are where make the game.
[00:42:19] So if we can get that that level of production that the I.T.S.F. brings and then get the you know the kind of I just see it in my head.
[00:42:30] It's crazy but like like that W.W.F. W.W.E. style you know good guy bad guy just I don't know man. I feel like it could be so big. So I feel like it could be. Here's an example. Here's what I want to know.
[00:42:44] We're stepping into expert doubles the finals and it's and it's Logan and Tyler versus Michael and his partner Chris. I want to know what's going on with these guys and have they done this before.
[00:42:56] Are they are they rivals or they have they you know have them beating up a title. Each other for a while. What's what's going on with one of their backgrounds. They hate each other. Is there yes. No that's it's a building rivalry. Yeah absolutely. Yeah. Providing context.
[00:43:11] Yeah providing context to any matchup and then have I really think pre and post game interviews are really really helpful. And I think consistency is key like how many times have we gone through and I've seen a world's production where we were doing interviews.
[00:43:27] Whether it was just post game interviews or even pregame interviews. If we and then the next event is like you don't have it.
[00:43:35] I wish there was again like a standard where we could just say OK at the bottom of the barrel these are the these are the things that we do.
[00:43:43] And yeah and I think anyone that can provide context to a matchup and give some of that like how far does this go back. Oh Logan and Tyler have been playing together since 2018. They won. I want to know that X Y and Z.
[00:43:56] It's like all those things matter. And of course at the top the upper echelon when you talk about you know Ryan Moore and Bobby Diaz playing together there's plenty of commentators out there that can provide some context of how far that goes back. Oh sure sure sure.
[00:44:10] And their resumes as as individuals. But it would be really neat if on like the expert pro level we had someone that was doing that as well. Absolutely. And then saying like you know introducing I love Donald Wilson legitimately one of my favorite people in the world right.
[00:44:27] And and I know I don't know if it's him or if it's Mary but that stupid final song every time they play that song for a final I want to like I just Van Halen I want to break the speaker. It's not any other song.
[00:44:42] Well again you know what announce the teams like do do a stinking walkout song I mean something appropriate of course it's we're at a fan we're in a family environment but you know you guys what would your walkout song be. Yeah walkouts right right right.
[00:44:58] Think about this probably probably I'm stuck between either thunderstruck or Dracula by Rob Zombie. Oh Dracula. I vote for Dracula. That's that's my book. Okay. What about you. Gosh. All right so are you anybody a Black Keys fan. Black Keys oh yeah. The Black Keys.
[00:45:19] They have a song called Sinister Kid now I'm not saying I'm a sinister kid but I'm saying that the song would be a perfect walkout song. So in baseball that was kind of my choice. Yeah that's what I mean.
[00:45:32] So you know get you pumped up before final announce you little walkout song right just a little extra 10 seconds. Get you pumped up. No it's. Yeah it's some corny like Casio keyboard record like pre-recorded like to somebody made on freaking SoundCloud. Right right.
[00:45:52] You know what that sound means. It's just so corny I think. Get rid of it. It's again production value. You have to really kind of think about it and I love the fact that each team could have their own theme you know.
[00:46:05] And now stepping up to the table Logan and Tyler ready to take on Chris and Michael. And of course Logan and Tyler come out and they got I don't know Thunderstruck. The theme to Frozen whatever anything better than what they're playing now.
[00:46:22] Louis T42 watching on Twitch TV says how about Handsome Brothers. How about the Handsome Brothers. Bob. Louis T42. No. No. No. No. No. No. Come on. Randy I could see Randy work into that song. Oh yeah. Yeah for sure. It won't work it.
[00:46:44] Randy was definitely singing Hanson even other Hanson songs that no one else knows. No I don't do. Listen I didn't do Hanson B-sides. Actually I dated a girl like in high school who was obsessed with them. She married my best friend which was funny. Ouch.
[00:47:01] Obsessed with that love them loved even my wife she was like oh I like the singer one he was cute. I was like anyway that song it was bad. We need to change direction here. That was awful. Oh yeah. One more one more additional insult.
[00:47:21] Handsome Brothers is now considered an oldie. Yeah see. Like what? An oldie. An oldie. I mean it was that was 20 25 years ago. That's the standard anything that's 25 years or older that's considered an oldie. I know because I worked in that field.
[00:47:38] I've been seeing classic car commercials anything older than 95 now is considered a classic car. Whatever. So OK so let's say we can we can line up some sponsors for you guys. Now when it comes to obviously experts pros and pro pro pro masters.
[00:48:00] It seems to me if you had somebody helping you with your with your entry fees would that would that make you go to more more tournaments. Yes or no Tyler then. Oh for sure. I mean entry fees is one thing.
[00:48:13] I think for me the biggest expense is always going to be the room. I've historically always been one that like I just don't necessarily want a room like to save money so I don't ever try to like room with anyone if I don't absolutely have to.
[00:48:29] But like there's always a good day. I was kind of shocked at how the room rates were working this past weekend at Mississippi. Just to say Saturday night was like 160 bucks at the best Western.
[00:48:42] I was like holy smokes and you had to stay two nights for the time you had to stay a minimum of two nights. Oh great.
[00:48:48] I think rooms if somebody would pay for my room I'd travel a lot more entry fees sometimes can be it's just every now and then whenever I get that IFP dues I'm like oh god I got to pay my dues.
[00:49:01] Yeah and I think one year they skipped everybody or something happened where the dues didn't load right or something. The dues didn't load right on like worlds one year or something. I think I skipped one year.
[00:49:13] Fortunately I don't tell Mary but a little late for that buddy little late for the swans or ships. Yeah. Well you think Mary's tuned in right now. She listens to all of this. She listens to all of every every single day. I'm going to get a DM lighter.
[00:49:25] Yeah, I'm going to get an invoice. Look out with interest. Logan, what about you? Obviously you get paid for to show up that would make a big difference for you.
[00:49:39] It would see I don't I've never liked the idea of spot like some you know some sponsors they play with someone and they still give them the money like if they were to win first place you know even if they go out to and straight they still get the first place money.
[00:49:58] I don't like that idea because it would be really hard to not have the mindset. Oh, I'm going to get first place money regardless. Who cares? So that's I mean more power to you if you want to sponsor somebody like with Tony you know if you sponsor him.
[00:50:19] He's going to always try his hardest no matter what. Right. Doesn't matter. You know if you are your first time playing on the tournament, he he's going to give it his all like he's ready to win. So that I can get behind.
[00:50:35] But you know there's just people that will just you know like I said, they'll they're expecting. They already know they're going to get the first place money so why try.
[00:50:47] And that that really put the damper on a lot of people and sponsors doing that is because they're people like that. So, I mean of course if somebody were to sponsor me I would 100% try my hardest. Oh sure.
[00:51:04] To make it well and even if we didn't win I would be like hey I'm not. I'm not taking that because I don't. I just. Yeah, everybody's different. I get it. Look I want to be sponsored by Waffle House.
[00:51:18] So if you're listening there's a Waffle House exec listening. I'll wear out listen I'll wear a full cook's uniform. Garb. The whole nine. Yeah. Whatever. Yeah I'll do it. Sponsor me. Yeah. I will get it tattooed right here. I don't know about that buddy.
[00:51:33] Show it after every shot. No I don't know about that but you know that that's the one thing that's nice about living in the south is like regionally we have so many tournaments that you can just drive to you know because. Yeah.
[00:51:43] Airfare is so expensive and you know thankfully like even rooming I only room with people like you know Chris. Chris and I have been playing together for like five or six years. I room with Chris I'm comfortable with Chris.
[00:51:54] He always gets a room with two beds but always makes us sleep in this thin one. I don't know. No way Randy. He said it makes us a better team. We're just we were getting closer and closer. I know what it is. It's the spoon.
[00:52:09] Who's the big spoon? Yeah. I mean dude I pitch. You got to swap every now and then. Right. Thanks for good. Just like you have to swap during the match. I mean you got to swap spoons. Chemistry. It's all about chemistry. Got to change it up. Yeah.
[00:52:26] You're so right though like on a real level like winning doing consistently well in tournaments as a doubles team. It's all about chemistry. Yeah. Yeah. Wait look. And if that's your edge Logan next time we play bro we're going to share a room or one bed. One bed.
[00:52:44] Yeah.
[00:52:45] No and and and you know it's obviously we joke but you know the key if you look at like historically teams that have won they're just you know they're usually guys that are really good friends or even female female teams that are really you know just good friends.
[00:52:59] They have good chemistry and like Chris and I we talk four or five times a week. He's one of my best friends in the whole world and we're just constantly trying like he he is always trying to improve. I'm always trying to improve.
[00:53:11] We're always trying to help each other grow give each other advice like even before this tournament I told him I said I need to communicate better right like my communication skills are subpar at best.
[00:53:25] So you know I'm like in a match when something's going on I'm seeing something we switch I get blocks and instead of communicating what I'm seeing to him I'm expecting him to see what I'm doing and just understand and adjust and that's just not that's not being a good partner.
[00:53:41] So you know we're consistently growing trying to improve because we just want like our goal is to we just want to win. We want to win for each other and that's that's the biggest thing as a team. So you trust each other.
[00:53:53] You know and I absolutely and I see you guys have you know you have similar chemistry obviously and I think that's what makes you a winning team. So you know again Mississippi State 2024 for doubles champs. What do you guys you guys have anything lined up.
[00:54:09] Are you planning to play anything else coming up. Pro doubles at Louisiana State in December. There you go. Nice. That's how I feel about that. It's the last last tournament of the year I think it's going to be big.
[00:54:22] I know the guys that won that last year they're pretty good. Oh yeah. I think I know them too. I don't know some some day he's kind of weird though scrubs. Yeah but I'm not I'm not going I'm not going. Oh good. I don't know. Yeah.
[00:54:40] So you guys will have a chance. I don't know why they moved it. I don't know why they moved it to December obviously probably wasn't. Yeah remember it was like what was it kind of encroaching upon Colorado State time. Yeah.
[00:54:52] That is also Mississippi State was supposed to be at the end of September like it normally is. Yeah but. But then Florida moved to September like they moved everything.
[00:55:04] April that's another thing about food as well just being so decentralized I think if we could settle in on like a year schedule or even at the end of each year.
[00:55:16] I think that's a good thing because I think the state convenes and a group setting and kind of says let's map this out in a way that's beneficial for everybody.
[00:55:26] Well because I do think a lot of events won't get a good showing some I've seen events like not get it. This year's Mississippi I thought was kind of a small showing truly in terms of numbers.
[00:55:36] And when you just told me Ohio had 180 players and it was a 13 grander. I'm like yeah. At least two 40 something things are sad like what. Pro seaports that Mississippi had 15 players. Well yeah well so so Mississippi had 140 players. Okay, they just didn't feel like that for whatever reason.
[00:56:00] Yeah. Expert doubles expert doubles in Ohio had 44 teams. Yeah that was double what we had. Here's a here's a crazy idea.
[00:56:11] How about we structure a schedule a yearly schedule wherein the really cold months we play in your neighborhood down south and during the really hot months like right about now. We play in the north. Does it. I don't know.
[00:56:28] Does it so set it up set it up Tom. Make it happen. Make it happen. No, I have your people call my people. You know February March, I would love to be in Mississippi or Louisiana.
[00:56:39] I mean I would do that in a heartbeat you know because it's freaking cold here. Yeah, well listen it's still a little chilly here but it's not like it is up there. March here is actually a pretty nice time. It's in the 70s in March.
[00:56:53] It's really a nice time to be in the south. But you know that's one thing I'll say about Mississippi State man. Oh brutal. It was so cold in that room. It was beautiful. You could say brutal bro. It was nice. I'm talking about the temperature outside. Outside.
[00:57:11] Oh it was hot as hot as balls dude. It was every time I went outside my glasses fogged up. It was so yeah. I was I was surprised that they actually that was the first tournament in a long time. They've actually had the AC going. Nationals was brutal.
[00:57:25] One at Chanin Fruit and Pearl was a good tournament, good hotel. But the times before that we did one that was in like Diamond Head, Mississippi. I remember you couldn't like I mean you almost wanted to get naked playing foosball in that room. It was so hot.
[00:57:42] Tyler at Nationals you would I was sweating the very first day I was sweating just sitting there watching a match. It was just awful.
[00:57:52] Yeah I heard the room was cold in the morning when nobody was in the room and then once everybody got in the room it was like. One person would take one breath in there and suddenly it was just like humid and hot. It was awful.
[00:58:04] Have any of you guys gone to Costa Rica for the tournament? No but that's on my list of things to do for sure. It's a it's a steam bath for the most part. That's what I hear like everybody's playing shirtless and shoeless. Let's go let's go. Do it.
[00:58:21] But that's in March. That's a good time of the year to go. I mean because everybody else is suffering. That and Vegas are my big I want to try to get to next year. You never been to the Hall of Fame? Nope. It's about time.
[00:58:39] Yeah it's about time. I've been it's really cool I think or the first time I went it was I was like too interested in everything else there was to do in Vegas.
[00:58:51] And that's the thing with foosball like it's no matter where you go you go in these you're stuck in that foosball room the whole time. You know what I mean just playing foosball.
[00:58:59] So Vegas was interesting because I wasn't I didn't have the mindset to really give it my best on the table because I was just so distracted by everything else that was going on around me.
[00:59:11] Well I mean just case in point ITSF the way they set things up the way they played with the Swiss style format you were done by 1030 at night. So you could you can go into whatever you want.
[00:59:23] You know and there's a break during the day from from two to three in the afternoon go have lunch do whatever you want.
[00:59:29] It's and you know when you're going to be playing you don't you know you don't have to worry about sitting around for two three hours waiting for your match to get called doesn't happen. Yeah the time the timed matches really help a lot. Oh yeah.
[00:59:42] The time set matches not. Yeah and it's you know what I'm trying to say you still play a lot of foosball. I mean you're playing a lot but it's at a specific time of the day.
[00:59:52] So you know 1030 at night man you should have seen the bar in the in Dallas Texas in that in that that hotel. Wow. It was crazy. People are dancing on the tables and there's you know there.
[01:00:05] In fact I think there was a complaint from some of the guests about the foosball players in the bar. But hey who cares man we're having a great time. Yeah yeah not have been in bed. That's what I do. Of course you would. Of course you I'm old.
[01:00:19] What do you want man. I'm old. It is what it was. And it was 11 o'clock at Mississippi State and Tyler called me and he said hey we're playing tomorrow. And I said OK. Hung up and I went to bed. That's it.
[01:00:31] Well you're in a I mean you're you're in the medical field. You're you're working in an E.R. Logan so you know what are your what are your weekly hours like by the way. I work night shift. Night. Yeah. Yeah. I actually just got off of night. Seven.
[01:00:51] No yes six six actually. And then before Mississippi State I did 17 nights in a row. Wow. So I mean you're 17. Whoa. Is that even legal. I quit. Hey the paycheck is. Yeah. It was nice. It was it was good. It was good. Damn. I quit. Not doing that.
[01:01:14] Hell no. I quit. Find somebody else. No. Yeah. Randy's like my circadian rhythm takes precedent over everything. Look not bro no joke. Like I'm. I'm so it's nine o'clock now. I'm usually I'm in bed at nine asleep at nine thirty and I'm up at five.
[01:01:32] I don't need an alarm. It's I am like clockwork. Yep. Clockwork bro all the time. So you should have been a. No I'm good. I'm good. I'm definitely. But. So these foods must really take their toll on you. Yeah no.
[01:01:48] Legitimately like I have to plan when like best time to leave to get there. And that's the problem like coming home because so like Mississippi we got put out of Pro doubles. It was like eleven. I packed up.
[01:02:05] I hit the road and I was going to go to work the next day but I got home. I ended up driving straight. I got home it was like three thirty in the morning. I took a shower went to bed.
[01:02:12] I just was like yeah I'm not going to work. But I spent the whole next day. I had I had I had some contracts I had to go through and some stuff I had to do but I slept till about noon.
[01:02:23] I got up did what I had to do and then I went right back to sleep and then I got up at like five. My wife got home we ate. I took a shower and then I just went back to bed.
[01:02:31] So it's like I because the you know playing till one o'clock in the morning for me is just not ideal. It sucks. I mean I'm sure there are some people that enjoy it but I just I can't. I know I'm young but I prefer not to also.
[01:02:46] No no because no matter what like we get done. We get done at one or whatever. I go to the room. I take a shower.
[01:02:54] I go to bed and then it's going to take me at least an hour to get my brain to stop and get some sleep. And then I'm just going to wake up early anyway.
[01:03:03] So you know I need six good hours to function and it's just that's why Sundays are always rough. They're just always always rough. And the other problem with it too if you're playing one two three o'clock in the morning which has happened there's nobody watching.
[01:03:17] There's you know you're in the finals and there's nobody there. I mean that's this is not right. You know at the Mississippi State they had in Pearl two years ago. I made it to the Pro doubles final and Jason Wiggs at 530 in the morning.
[01:03:37] Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah. And the only people Paul Rankin is right. Yep and the only people that were watching was why I think it was Wayne Ritchie was commentating or no I don't remember who was commentating someone was commentating. And then Hannah was the ref.
[01:03:57] That was the only two people watching them. Wow. Oh and the hotel staff cleaning up the room. Yeah yeah yeah. No dude that's brutal. That's what I'm sorry like I said I remember. So we got put out of Pro doubles. It was like seven whatever.
[01:04:15] I was just like all right went up to the room took a shower laid down fell asleep and then I woke up to the fire alarm like the fire alarm was going off. I don't know if you remember that right. The fire alarm went off.
[01:04:26] I just sat up and I was like was that the TKO. No it was Mississippi State in Pearl. I was like what the hell. Wow. I was like what the hell's going on and Chris was in the room he's like fire alarms going off.
[01:04:38] I was like are we gonna die. Like he's like music. Now I think we're all right. I was like all right cool. I just laid back down went back to sleep. I was like whatever dude. So false alarm.
[01:04:49] Fortunately I don't know maybe maybe I don't know whatever it wasn't like in Lexington when somebody actually you know yeah started a fire. Oh it's crazy. It's always it's always fun at a football tournament. So but anyway I appreciate you guys taking the time to come on man.
[01:05:09] Congratulations on your win. Yeah big win. Expert doubles. You know like I said the finals probably the most exciting match of the weekend. Yeah man I look forward to seeing you guys out always enjoy spending time with you guys and thanks for coming on. And yeah. Yeah.
[01:05:28] Thank you for having us. And we're looking forward to the next time we have a conversation in this format you guys would be the winner of pro doubles. Wouldn't that be the goal. That's the plan. Yeah.
[01:05:40] Every time I enter an event with Logan I always think we're going to win it. So I go in thinking we're going to the finals whether we're going to be kink seed or whether we aren't.
[01:05:51] But I always feel really confident with Logan and that's one thing I'll say just to kind of reiterate the importance of chemistry. When you're playing doubles when I play with Logan or any of these like I play with Bracklin Bufkin a good bit.
[01:06:05] My favorite thing about playing with a partner that you have chemistry with this I'm not thinking about what they're doing and with Logan I don't have to think or worry. I trust Logan. I trust Logan's decision making.
[01:06:17] And yeah so hopefully next time you're talking to us we're pro dubs champs. Yeah. Wouldn't that be sweet. Yeah we'll get you guys on after Louisiana come talk about your win. Appreciate you having us guys. Oh yeah you bet. And let's do it again real soon.
