[00:02:11] Foos Talk Live.
[00:02:12] As promised, we're live from the Great Lakes Classic.

[00:02:28] Ayo.
[00:02:29] And then to my right is somebody we haven't...
[00:02:32] Well, last time we saw him, he had a lot more hair.
[00:02:35] Adam Gilson.
[00:02:36] How's it going?
[00:02:37] Dude.
[00:02:39] And Clay Toomey to your right.
[00:02:43] Howdy.
[00:02:43] This is like old Home Day at the Great Lakes Classic.
[00:02:47] This show's probably going to be boring, Tom.
[00:02:49] Get out of here.
[00:02:50] Yeah.
[00:02:51] Boring?
[00:02:51] Yeah.
[00:02:52] Okay.
[00:02:53] So...
[00:02:54] Yeah, yeah, I'm down to do my part.
[00:02:57] What are you doing?
[00:02:58] Why are you turning mine up?
[00:02:59] I can't hear me.
[00:03:00] Well, you're three, stupid.
[00:03:00] Keep playing with stuff.
[00:03:02] I can't hear me.
[00:03:02] You're three.
[00:03:03] Turn mine up.
[00:03:04] See, I knew this was going to happen.
[00:03:06] I knew it.
[00:03:07] I just knew it.
[00:03:07] Put kids in the candy shop, and they're going to end up...
[00:03:10] What?
[00:03:10] How's it going?
[00:03:11] Getting a toothache?
[00:03:12] Wet, wet, wet.
[00:03:13] It's going great.
[00:03:14] So, like, we're live.
[00:03:16] We're doing our thing.
[00:03:18] So, first of all, you guys are killing it this weekend.
[00:03:23] Modern Foos is here to do the coverage of the Great Lakes Classic.
[00:03:27] It is top-notch.
[00:03:29] The stream's been awesome.
[00:03:30] Yeah, for sure.
[00:03:30] Just amazing.
[00:03:31] Thank you.
[00:03:32] Yeah.
[00:03:33] Well...
[00:03:35] Yeah, it's been great.
[00:03:36] I appreciate that, and it's been a lot of fun here to support this Michael Stahl, everything
[00:03:40] that he's doing in this venue, this event.
[00:03:44] Everything that he's doing in this area is just phenomenal.
[00:03:46] So, no, it's been great.
[00:03:47] I'm really, really enjoying it.
[00:03:50] This whole evolution of Modern Foos...
[00:03:53] Clay, you can take this one.
[00:03:54] Okay.
[00:03:54] There's been a significant step when it comes to just the technology and the level of quality
[00:04:01] that's gone through the roof.
[00:04:04] Is this where I agree or disagree?
[00:04:06] Because I agree.
[00:04:06] Where's the question on that one?
[00:04:09] What's going on?
[00:04:10] Well, it's just, like, technology is actually pretty simple.
[00:04:14] Like, I think people get a little too much credit when it comes to, oh, wow, it's like
[00:04:18] this really wild...
[00:04:20] Like, we got the mohawk in the camera.
[00:04:21] The reality is, Twitch has been pretty easy to use for years, and I've been begging to see
[00:04:26] foosball on Twitch for a long time.
[00:04:28] Right.
[00:04:28] And there are teenagers in their after-school programs who are able to stream Fortnite from
[00:04:35] their cell phone.
[00:04:36] Right.
[00:04:37] Like, technology is actually pretty doable, and it just takes a certain amount of, like,
[00:04:41] just a little bit of know-how mixed with, do I care enough?
[00:04:44] And then do I know another person or two who also knows and cares?
[00:04:48] And the technology itself is, to me, it's the simple part.
[00:04:51] The hard part is finding people who got the gas factor engaged and activated, and they
[00:04:56] care, and they want to try, and so there are five of us that make up modern foos, and I
[00:05:03] think all of us have all that.
[00:05:04] Yeah.
[00:05:04] Do you think it's because the average age of a foosball player today is, like, 74, and
[00:05:09] that's why they struggle with technology?
[00:05:10] Could be.
[00:05:11] I think there's a certain...
[00:05:12] So, it's yes, for sure, and there's also a certain amount of, well, this is how we've
[00:05:17] always done it.
[00:05:18] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:05:18] Which is cancer to me.
[00:05:20] Like, this is how we've done it, so this is how we do it.
[00:05:22] Shut up.
[00:05:23] That's not good.
[00:05:24] Nobody survived.
[00:05:24] It's like, that might work in a restaurant where your signature dish never changes from
[00:05:29] generation to generation, but, like, come on, the technology from even when I was, like,
[00:05:34] an early adult to now, it's just, it's, things are so much better, so much more affordable,
[00:05:40] and I just don't believe in this rut of, well, it's good enough.
[00:05:45] Nobody complains, so why change it?
[00:05:47] Yeah.
[00:05:47] Like, no, show people what's good.
[00:05:49] Show people what 60 frames looks like, and then listen to their feedback, which is what happened
[00:05:54] this year at Vegas.
[00:05:55] A lot of people saw what 60 frames looked like.
[00:05:58] Nice.
[00:05:58] 60 frames per second.
[00:06:00] That's how many images you see in a second, and it makes it more clear, it's easier to
[00:06:04] watch, and it's easier on your eyeballs.
[00:06:06] Yeah.
[00:06:06] And it's so easy to do.
[00:06:07] Your phone does, like, 120 by default, probably.
[00:06:11] So, yeah.
[00:06:12] See, I didn't know that.
[00:06:13] Yeah.
[00:06:14] See, me and technology, like, I can work my iPhone, and I have a laptop for business,
[00:06:17] but all the stuff you guys are doing is, it's way over my head.
[00:06:21] So, I'm thankful that you're able to do this, and I do appreciate it, and I think it's definitely
[00:06:26] pushing foosball in the right direction, because I have to agree with you, this is how we've
[00:06:35] always done a thing, is the reason why the sport hasn't evolved in a long time.
[00:06:41] It's, you know, like you said, a punch of salt, forget about it, so I make it all the
[00:06:46] time.
[00:06:46] Nah, you know, what you guys are doing, like I said, man, even, you know, I've roughed
[00:06:51] a couple matches this weekend, there's an issue, I go check it out, I come back, it makes such
[00:06:55] a difference, man.
[00:06:56] But let me ask you this, how long did it take you to learn that that was an option that
[00:06:58] you could use?
[00:07:00] Listening to you guys, watching a match, and hearing you say, it's accessible, just come
[00:07:08] look.
[00:07:08] And now you're a part of the change.
[00:07:10] And I'm just like.
[00:07:10] Without being invited, without being asked, or whatever, you just saw the thing, oh, I
[00:07:14] can do that, and now you do it.
[00:07:15] And so you're a part of it, too.
[00:07:17] And again, because you said, it's here, use it, right?
[00:07:20] It just come look.
[00:07:22] And so, you know, reffing a match where somebody is playing for the opportunity to go to Spain,
[00:07:29] you definitely want to make sure that you're making the right call.
[00:07:32] And it doesn't hurt to take 30 seconds to walk around the booth, see, make the right
[00:07:38] call, and come back.
[00:07:39] And I think that, I mean, why would you not?
[00:07:42] It just, like I said, man, I love what you guys are doing.
[00:07:46] The Mohawk, the screens, the stats, I mean, we should have done.
[00:07:51] The stats are huge.
[00:07:52] We should have been doing this years ago, man.
[00:07:54] Yeah.
[00:07:55] I agree.
[00:07:56] You know?
[00:07:57] I know there are guys out there, look, I know there are guys out there that, oh, I
[00:08:01] passed 100%.
[00:08:02] No, you didn't.
[00:08:09] I shot 100%.
[00:08:12] Now get out of here.
[00:08:14] No, dude, after one of my matches, you heard me, I was like, those are not winning numbers.
[00:08:19] No.
[00:08:19] Holy crap.
[00:08:20] You were one for six between game one and two, and you said, that is not winning foosball.
[00:08:24] And then you came back and went three for your next three, Adam.
[00:08:26] Yeah.
[00:08:26] No, but you didn't say, those are not good numbers.
[00:08:29] Don't clean up your language.
[00:08:30] How did you actually say that?
[00:08:31] I said, wow, I suck at foosball.
[00:08:34] No, you didn't say that.
[00:08:35] I can't do, you said it with your, the way that you talk normally.
[00:08:38] Hey, hey.
[00:08:39] Those are not winning numbers.
[00:08:40] Numbers.
[00:08:40] Those are not winning numbers.
[00:08:41] Those are not numbers.
[00:08:43] Terrible numbers.
[00:08:44] Those numbers are trash.
[00:08:45] Those are not winning numbers.
[00:08:48] Yeah.
[00:08:48] That was fantastic.
[00:08:49] Yeah.
[00:08:50] Yeah, and I think there was something new.
[00:08:53] There's always a new toy at every one of these tournaments we do, and the new one this
[00:08:56] weekend is the player screen that you see on the Mohawk that has your stats in real
[00:09:01] time when we're doing stats.
[00:09:02] Yes.
[00:09:02] You can see so many people have been watching, stopping, looking, and checking what it is they're
[00:09:07] doing, and it's a real-time moment to be able to say what you're doing.
[00:09:10] What you think has happened versus what's actually happening.
[00:09:13] Yeah.
[00:09:14] And when you see the numbers, you can't fight numbers.
[00:09:16] No, you can't fight numbers, guy.
[00:09:17] The math is the math.
[00:09:19] And even, like, so even what's cool, too, is like, how many timeouts do I have?
[00:09:22] You just look up and go, oh, I got one.
[00:09:24] I got two.
[00:09:25] I got none.
[00:09:25] Whatever.
[00:09:26] It's a, no.
[00:09:27] Is that whatever?
[00:09:28] Or is that whatepa?
[00:09:28] Whatever, guy.
[00:09:29] It's freaking whatever.
[00:09:30] So, but it's, I mean.
[00:09:34] And it's so simple to do.
[00:09:35] You say that you're like all the tech and maybe you could do your phone.
[00:09:38] No, you could do that.
[00:09:39] You just, you have the idea.
[00:09:40] You can make that happen.
[00:09:41] What do you mean?
[00:09:42] The setup?
[00:09:42] Yeah.
[00:09:43] I mean, I could set it up, maybe plug some stuff in.
[00:09:45] But I see all the buttons you guys push.
[00:09:47] Mm-hmm.
[00:09:49] I don't know, man.
[00:09:50] I don't know.
[00:09:50] I'm not sure.
[00:09:51] I don't know.
[00:09:51] Tom pushes buttons.
[00:09:52] You put buttons in front of Tom, he can't help himself.
[00:09:54] Have you heard the time that Tom was the buttons?
[00:09:57] No.
[00:09:58] Okay.
[00:09:58] Well, that's maybe a conversation for another day.
[00:10:02] Can we talk?
[00:10:03] Sure.
[00:10:03] So, you know, it was Robo Tom.
[00:10:07] Yeah, Robo Tom.
[00:10:08] Episode four of the.
[00:10:09] Back in the day.
[00:10:10] Foosball free for all.
[00:10:11] Robo Tom.
[00:10:12] So, what he did was he basically took advantage of catchphrases that I use a lot.
[00:10:18] Yeah.
[00:10:19] Oh, they're catchphrases.
[00:10:20] Catchphrases.
[00:10:21] That's what you call them.
[00:10:23] Trademark.
[00:10:23] Trademark by Tom Robinson.
[00:10:25] A little fillers in speech, like when you're thinking about what to say next to you.
[00:10:27] Oh, I love doing that to you.
[00:10:28] Yeah, you did.
[00:10:29] Yeah.
[00:10:30] No, I'm doing one of your buttons.
[00:10:32] And that was nice.
[00:10:34] Oh, this is pre-recorded, by the way.
[00:10:36] That was another one.
[00:10:37] This is pre-recorded.
[00:10:38] Yeah.
[00:10:38] Oh, hey.
[00:10:39] But, no, it's missing you guys big time.
[00:10:43] Yeah.
[00:10:44] But it's great to see what you've grown into, man.
[00:10:47] This foosball media is going someplace.
[00:10:52] Yeah.
[00:10:52] Finally.
[00:10:53] Oh, the YouTube videos, too.
[00:10:54] I look forward to the YouTube videos when they hit the shorts, the matches, all of them.
[00:10:58] Oh, yeah.
[00:10:58] It's all great.
[00:10:59] The edits are good.
[00:11:01] Appreciate it, man.
[00:11:01] Thanks for the love.
[00:11:02] So, one video.
[00:11:04] What's, like, your biggest view count for one video or one short?
[00:11:08] Oh, man.
[00:11:10] Probably.
[00:11:12] And now it's time to hold your balls.
[00:11:14] It's a passing tutorial for how to do a lane pass.
[00:11:20] And it just shows a very simple overhead view of how to do a lane pass.
[00:11:26] Yep.
[00:11:26] And on Instagram, 300,000 plus views.
[00:11:31] What?
[00:11:31] That's awesome.
[00:11:32] Damn.
[00:11:32] Yeah, we get about 10,000 views a day.
[00:11:36] Let's go.
[00:11:37] On just our shorts and reels.
[00:11:38] Let's go.
[00:11:39] But let's put that in perspective because I think one of the big things we're looking at
[00:11:42] with the modern foos concept of putting Instagram reels and all that is, yeah, you're getting
[00:11:47] a good stream at home.
[00:11:48] And, yeah, you've got the player screen and this and that and the other thing.
[00:11:50] We can go down the list, right?
[00:11:51] But the reach post-tournament that happens, thousands of people, tens of thousands of
[00:11:58] people that don't play foosball end up seeing it.
[00:12:01] And I don't think it's happening this year.
[00:12:03] I guarantee you by next year, people are going to start trickling in playing foosball that
[00:12:08] had only seen it because of that, right?
[00:12:10] Yeah.
[00:12:11] And there's a lot of people now, even players that you, I can think of a few off the top
[00:12:14] of my head, who've told me, I only found out about foosball because I saw a random poster
[00:12:20] at a bar that I go to.
[00:12:22] No interaction from the internet, right?
[00:12:25] Oh, okay.
[00:12:25] And you're thinking about that and you're like, wow, this is the year 2024.
[00:12:29] Even in the year 2018, it shouldn't have been that, you know?
[00:12:32] Yeah.
[00:12:32] So I think that that kind of reached, that kind of stretch, that $250,000 you talk about.
[00:12:37] This is one from a couple weeks ago with the John Wayne that Ryan did, $175,000.
[00:12:42] Was that the...
[00:12:43] John Wayne a while?
[00:12:44] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:12:46] And so that one was September 19th.
[00:12:49] $175,000 people have watched that.
[00:12:51] And it hasn't been a month.
[00:12:52] It's been like three weeks.
[00:12:53] It's been...
[00:12:54] Yeah, right around two weeks.
[00:12:56] And 90% of them are not even followers of our channel.
[00:12:59] Really?
[00:13:00] Wow.
[00:13:01] That's huge.
[00:13:01] I mean, that's...
[00:13:02] Those are eyeballs on foosball that have never touched a foosball.
[00:13:06] This is where it's going.
[00:13:08] This is it.
[00:13:09] It's 2025, by the way.
[00:13:12] I predict this is going to be the best year in foosball ever.
[00:13:15] You know, I hope so, man.
[00:13:17] Yeah.
[00:13:18] I know Ryan has a vision and some great ideas.
[00:13:22] Dude.
[00:13:22] And he's very business savvy.
[00:13:24] I'm, you know, I've said it before.
[00:13:26] I'm really excited to see where this goes, man.
[00:13:28] Same.
[00:13:28] Yeah, I'm pumped.
[00:13:29] So, one of the things that he mentioned during his interview was that he has a phase.
[00:13:34] He wants to go through four phases.
[00:13:35] Yeah.
[00:13:36] Phase number one, take care of the pros and the pro masters.
[00:13:39] Of course.
[00:13:39] Thank you.
[00:13:39] Get them going.
[00:13:40] Let's go.
[00:13:41] You know, make it worth their while.
[00:13:42] Yep.
[00:13:43] Then phase two, take care of everybody else.
[00:13:46] Make it fun to go to a tournament.
[00:13:48] Make it memorable.
[00:13:49] Yeah, pay for my Chipotle needs to be in there somewhere.
[00:13:52] I mean.
[00:13:53] We all pay for Chipotle at one point or another.
[00:13:55] Yeah, but what do you like?
[00:13:56] Double steak?
[00:13:57] Or, I mean.
[00:13:57] I do half chicken, half steak.
[00:13:59] Carnitas.
[00:13:59] Not double meat?
[00:14:00] Half and half?
[00:14:01] I do half and half.
[00:14:02] Yeah, I'm trying to stop being a fat slob.
[00:14:06] And that's my way to get there.
[00:14:07] Yeah, but Chipotle, dude, it's like 40 bucks for a bowl now, man.
[00:14:11] Chipotle's crazy.
[00:14:11] Yeah, but you know, money's not real.
[00:14:13] No.
[00:14:13] Money's not real.
[00:14:15] You know, and I probably shouldn't say this on air, but every time I go to Chipotle,
[00:14:18] I take a bottle of their Tabasco Chipotle sauce and I stick it in my bag and I leave.
[00:14:22] You know, and who's going to stop you?
[00:14:23] Well, you know what?
[00:14:24] What does it matter if I use it there or if I use it at the house?
[00:14:26] Exactly.
[00:14:26] And I only use it on Chipotle.
[00:14:28] For sure, because one's stealing and one isn't, but that's great.
[00:14:30] Well, you're going to use it either way.
[00:14:32] But I only use it on Chipotle.
[00:14:33] Like when I get a bowl, I take it on.
[00:14:35] Oh, that's legit.
[00:14:35] Yeah, bro.
[00:14:36] That's nice.
[00:14:36] If anything, it's actually marketing for Chipotle when you steal their sauce.
[00:14:40] So if I stole a car and I only use the car I stole to steal more cars.
[00:14:44] I didn't say steal.
[00:14:44] I'm not stealing.
[00:14:45] He just said.
[00:14:46] What happens if I use it in the restaurant or at my house on a Chipotle bowl?
[00:14:51] What's the difference?
[00:14:51] Right.
[00:14:52] What's the difference if I use it?
[00:14:53] Nobody else can use it that's already there.
[00:14:55] Nobody's going to use it if I'm using it at the restaurant anyway.
[00:14:57] What are you talking about?
[00:14:58] That is not how reality is.
[00:15:00] What are you talking about, bro?
[00:15:01] The battle of the West and the East.
[00:15:02] Yeah, let's go.
[00:15:03] That's it.
[00:15:03] I'll meet you in the middle, guys.
[00:15:05] West and East.
[00:15:05] By the way, I'd like to thank the picnic basket I stole my shirt from.
[00:15:09] Yeah.
[00:15:09] Good God.
[00:15:10] Why do I look like this?
[00:15:12] Speaking of theft, we kind of stole the floor from Tom who was talking about the phase.
[00:15:16] Oh, yeah.
[00:15:16] Sorry, Tom.
[00:15:16] Back to whatever you were talking about.
[00:15:18] Go ahead.
[00:15:19] Grief.
[00:15:20] Grief.
[00:15:20] Grief.
[00:15:21] And then.
[00:15:21] That's how I feel after I have.
[00:15:23] Four phases of grief.
[00:15:24] Oh, yeah.
[00:15:24] Yeah.
[00:15:25] Four phases of grief.
[00:15:28] Of course.
[00:15:30] You know.
[00:15:31] I'm grieving.
[00:15:32] You were on phase two and a half right there.
[00:15:33] I told you this show was going to be boring.
[00:15:35] Go ahead.
[00:15:35] Yeah.
[00:15:35] I know.
[00:15:36] I know.
[00:15:37] You know, you try to talk me out of it.
[00:15:38] Well, Tom, get it back on the rails, though.
[00:15:40] This guy has a fishbowl under his shirt.
[00:15:43] Who carries a fishbowl like that?
[00:15:45] A fishbowl under the shirt.
[00:15:46] Yeah, he has a fishbowl under his shirt.
[00:15:47] Oh, I just noticed that.
[00:15:48] Yeah.
[00:15:49] I can say that because nobody can see who I'm talking about or what I'm saying.
[00:15:52] Back to you, Tom.
[00:15:54] Hey, he's watching foosball.
[00:15:55] All right?
[00:15:55] Get over it.
[00:15:57] But no.
[00:15:57] It's Ryan Moore, World Foosball Tour.
[00:16:01] Yeah.
[00:16:02] Are you guys going to get involved?
[00:16:04] What's going on?
[00:16:05] We don't have any contracts signed yet.
[00:16:08] Okay.
[00:16:08] I know we've had a lot of conversations.
[00:16:11] Obviously, I'm not going to speak for Ryan, but he likes what we do.
[00:16:13] We like what he do's.
[00:16:15] Yeah.
[00:16:15] Whatever the phrase goes.
[00:16:17] Do as.
[00:16:17] And we had the World Foosball Tour, the handing over from Mary to Ryan.
[00:16:23] That wasn't really a surprise.
[00:16:25] The big announcement was at Worlds, but we kind of knew about that in advance.
[00:16:29] So there are conversations about it, but there are no commitments.
[00:16:34] Who knows what he ultimately decides.
[00:16:36] We're on board to do our thing if that's what he likes.
[00:16:39] And if he wants to do something else, I love foosball first.
[00:16:42] I'm a fan of foosball.
[00:16:44] Right.
[00:16:44] And I'll do whatever's good for foosball.
[00:16:46] And if that means that Modern Foos is involved and awesome, and if it means that somebody else is, they better be good.
[00:16:51] Yeah.
[00:16:52] No kidding.
[00:16:53] Because they're going to have to really be good if it's not Modern Foos.
[00:16:57] But I'm down.
[00:16:57] I think we're all down to do it.
[00:16:58] It's just, I mean, it's October, and that's still a few months away.
[00:17:02] So I don't know.
[00:17:03] I have no definitive answers for you other than we all love foosball, and we all want the best for foosball.
[00:17:08] Dude.
[00:17:08] And there's money involved, and it costs things, and so the right decisions need to be made.
[00:17:13] So who knows?
[00:17:14] Who knows what the right decision is right now?
[00:17:16] I mean, just to give you an idea, the first phase of what Ryan wants to do is going to include a significant amount of money.
[00:17:24] Yeah.
[00:17:25] Significant amount.
[00:17:25] So I think just that, plus the fact that he's a very good business person.
[00:17:30] Yeah.
[00:17:30] No, that's an investment, not a donation.
[00:17:32] Yeah.
[00:17:32] Exactly.
[00:17:33] Yeah.
[00:17:33] Exactly.
[00:17:34] Well, how much money?
[00:17:36] $7.42.
[00:17:38] Tens of dollars.
[00:17:39] Enough to get double meat.
[00:17:41] How much is it thrown at me?
[00:17:42] Let's go.
[00:17:43] What?
[00:17:43] With the chipotle already?
[00:17:45] Yeah.
[00:17:45] Maybe even queso.
[00:17:46] How much could you even get double stuffed?
[00:17:47] Mate, what are you talking about?
[00:17:49] Hey, after hours, bro.
[00:17:51] After hours.
[00:17:52] Please tell me you're talking about Oreos.
[00:17:54] He's all double stuffed.
[00:17:55] Oh, my gosh.
[00:17:58] Anyways, back to the numbers.
[00:18:00] I love doing that to you, by the way.
[00:18:06] Well, anyways.
[00:18:07] I will kill you.
[00:18:08] Wow.
[00:18:09] That's not the first time I've been killed.
[00:18:11] Anyways, back to you, Adam.
[00:18:14] Put the mic back up to your face and talk.
[00:18:16] Wow.
[00:18:16] He keeps doing that.
[00:18:17] No, I was.
[00:18:19] Yeah.
[00:18:20] How much money?
[00:18:21] Money, money, money, money.
[00:18:23] You said that there was a lot of money he's putting into it.
[00:18:25] I'm just curious.
[00:18:26] Like, do Foosters know?
[00:18:27] Is this well known or is it not talked about?
[00:18:29] It was a public interview that we did on Foos Talk Live or Foos Ball Radio.
[00:18:34] And he mentioned a figure of $250,000.
[00:18:37] Quarter of a mil.
[00:18:38] Let's go.
[00:18:39] Yeah.
[00:18:39] Let's go.
[00:18:40] That's not too shabby.
[00:18:41] No.
[00:18:41] Right?
[00:18:42] I mean, that's having some skin in the game right there.
[00:18:44] That is $500,000, $2 tacos.
[00:18:48] You're good.
[00:18:49] It's not, but you're pretty close.
[00:18:50] That's bad math.
[00:18:51] Yeah.
[00:18:51] That's taking care of the players right there.
[00:18:53] Yeah.
[00:18:53] $2 tacos.
[00:18:54] For sure.
[00:18:55] Taking care of their proctology exam.
[00:18:57] Yeah.
[00:18:58] No.
[00:18:59] Yeah.
[00:19:00] No.
[00:19:02] No.
[00:19:02] It's, I think one of the other things he was also, is very flexible, but he's, he also
[00:19:08] is not going to tolerate negativity.
[00:19:11] Right.
[00:19:11] So.
[00:19:12] He didn't, that stuff doesn't fly with Ryan.
[00:19:14] Right.
[00:19:15] Exactly.
[00:19:16] He's like, I'll deal with it and then I'll let it roll off my back and that's that.
[00:19:19] Yeah.
[00:19:19] He says, don't bring me problems.
[00:19:21] Bring me solutions.
[00:19:22] Right.
[00:19:23] Exactly.
[00:19:23] Which is probably a line from a movie, but it still makes sense.
[00:19:26] I think that's.
[00:19:27] Jerry Maguire.
[00:19:28] Wolf of Wall Street or something like that.
[00:19:29] The Notebook, I think.
[00:19:30] Oh, The Notebook.
[00:19:31] That's a pretty Ryan kind of movie.
[00:19:32] Yeah.
[00:19:32] Because when he was building the house.
[00:19:34] What do you want?
[00:19:35] Yeah.
[00:19:36] I want a house, dude.
[00:19:36] Tell me what you want.
[00:19:37] I've never seen this movie before.
[00:19:39] Neither have I.
[00:19:39] I'll leave my fiance and come to you if you build me a house.
[00:19:43] Yeah.
[00:19:43] I have never.
[00:19:44] Wow.
[00:19:44] He was like, he was like, don't bring me a problem.
[00:19:47] Bring me a solution.
[00:19:48] That's fantastic.
[00:19:48] She was like, build me a house.
[00:19:49] I feel like I should have seen this.
[00:19:50] I dress like a picnic basket.
[00:19:51] Oh, I should know.
[00:19:52] Wait.
[00:19:52] Have you really not seen The Notebook?
[00:19:53] I've never seen The Notebook.
[00:19:54] No.
[00:19:54] I just remember the sweaty kiss or the.
[00:19:56] I could see you shedding a tear watching that movie.
[00:19:59] A shower kiss.
[00:20:00] You could see me shedding a tear.
[00:20:01] I cried during commercials.
[00:20:03] I swear.
[00:20:04] After foosball tournaments, I'm so emotionally charged.
[00:20:07] You just said that.
[00:20:08] You cried during commercials.
[00:20:09] That's okay.
[00:20:09] He's securing his manhood.
[00:20:10] Go ahead, buddy.
[00:20:11] What are we talking about?
[00:20:12] Like a used car commercial?
[00:20:13] Do you cry at your manhood?
[00:20:17] I hold my manhood.
[00:20:19] Wait, what?
[00:20:21] Don't confuse me with a good time.
[00:20:23] Look, I'm just saying, what I'm saying is that there's nothing wrong with being emotional.
[00:20:27] And after foosball tournaments, I will sit there at the bar and try to decompress after
[00:20:32] a very long weekend of the highs and the lows and being around people that I love but also
[00:20:37] sometimes hate.
[00:20:39] You don't have to look at me.
[00:20:40] I know who you're talking about.
[00:20:41] I didn't.
[00:20:43] That's just subtext.
[00:20:45] And no, not you.
[00:20:46] It's like.
[00:20:47] Carry on.
[00:20:50] So, yeah.
[00:20:50] And just watch.
[00:20:51] You know those commercials, like those Korean commercials where they, like it's just the
[00:20:56] sad music and you see the kitten show up.
[00:20:59] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:20:59] And then they say the kitten and then the kitten was the father secretly of the.
[00:21:04] Dude.
[00:21:04] Yeah.
[00:21:04] Now I get it.
[00:21:05] Good.
[00:21:06] Now I get it.
[00:21:06] Good, because I can stop talking.
[00:21:08] The arms of an angel.
[00:21:09] And then that's what Sarah McLaughlin comes up.
[00:21:10] Yeah.
[00:21:11] No, we're all on the same page.
[00:21:12] Anyway.
[00:21:13] Back to this one.
[00:21:14] Yeah.
[00:21:14] So.
[00:21:15] No, it's it's this next year.
[00:21:18] Again, I think it's going to be phenomenal.
[00:21:20] But in the meantime, you guys as modern foods, what's on the agenda for you specifically?
[00:21:27] What's going on?
[00:21:29] I actually I have no idea.
[00:21:31] I don't know.
[00:21:33] The future of foosball question mark.
[00:21:35] Future of foosball.
[00:21:36] What?
[00:21:37] Baby.
[00:21:38] I actually don't know.
[00:21:39] I don't know what our next tournament is.
[00:21:40] I don't know.
[00:21:40] I know.
[00:21:41] I know.
[00:21:41] I know for sure our next tournament is going to be money ball.
[00:21:45] President President's Day weekend.
[00:21:46] That's not for sure that that will be our next.
[00:21:48] I don't know.
[00:21:49] Jack.
[00:21:50] Good.
[00:21:50] Okay.
[00:21:51] Well, then wait.
[00:21:51] No.
[00:21:52] So let me just stop.
[00:21:53] So this is a question that I want to know legitimately.
[00:21:55] Right.
[00:21:55] Okay.
[00:21:55] Yeah.
[00:21:56] Dude.
[00:21:56] How do you guys move all this stuff?
[00:21:58] Like that mohawk.
[00:21:59] That's a big piece of equipment.
[00:22:00] So how does this stuff travel?
[00:22:01] So that part.
[00:22:02] You got that one or you want me to?
[00:22:04] Me?
[00:22:04] Okay.
[00:22:05] Cool.
[00:22:05] I can answer the other one too.
[00:22:08] So the mohawk gets shipped on its own.
[00:22:10] We actually have two mohawks.
[00:22:12] Okay.
[00:22:12] We have an East Coast mohawk and a West Coast mohawk.
[00:22:14] Let's go, bro.
[00:22:15] We really do.
[00:22:15] You got a Tupac and a Biggie mohawk.
[00:22:17] Yeah.
[00:22:17] We have a one pock and a two pock.
[00:22:19] Okay.
[00:22:19] Nice.
[00:22:19] A one hawk and a two hawk.
[00:22:21] Okay.
[00:22:21] And a hawk to it.
[00:22:22] Anyways.
[00:22:23] Topical.
[00:22:24] Yes, sir.
[00:22:27] So we ship.
[00:22:30] Reset here.
[00:22:31] We ship it.
[00:22:32] We just ship it to get it here this weekend.
[00:22:35] It can, you know, cost some money.
[00:22:38] Also, it goes with the tables.
[00:22:40] There's been a time where it went on the trailer with the tables.
[00:22:43] Okay.
[00:22:43] With IFP events.
[00:22:45] We also have like a pallet-sized box with all the wires and the cables and the not-so-sensitive gear.
[00:22:54] And that ships.
[00:22:55] You know, it just costs money to ship things.
[00:22:57] So we ship it.
[00:23:01] Yeah.
[00:23:01] There's the simple answer there.
[00:23:02] Yeah.
[00:23:05] And it costs, it probably costs, you know, five or six hundred bucks to get all that.
[00:23:09] To get all that here before you talk about rooms for the people who put it together and all that stuff.
[00:23:14] Which is not us, by the way.
[00:23:15] That's Danilo Fatal and David Kala assembled it and hooked everything up.
[00:23:20] This weekend, two of the other guys in Modern Foods.
[00:23:22] Yeah.
[00:23:22] At Nationals, it was Danilo Fatal, again, with Lukasz Koprovski, which is our fifth guy in Modern Foods.
[00:23:31] Wow.
[00:23:31] Actually, he's probably like the second.
[00:23:32] I'm the fifth and like fourth or whatever.
[00:23:35] And so it gets shipped on a pallet, palletized, and then shows up and it gets assembled here.
[00:23:41] It doesn't send like that.
[00:23:43] Yeah.
[00:23:43] Well, and then this brings up another point is the money part, right?
[00:23:47] Yeah.
[00:23:47] So, listeners, Patreon, right?
[00:23:52] If you love foosball and you love what's being done, go check out the Patreon.
[00:23:58] Support.
[00:23:58] Look.
[00:23:59] Thank you, Dan.
[00:23:59] Give up a latte, man.
[00:24:01] It's one latte a month or two or whatever.
[00:24:03] But if you're enjoying what's being, you know, being streamed, being produced, this doesn't just happen, right?
[00:24:10] Again, stuff getting shipped costs hundreds of dollars.
[00:24:13] And that's just to get the stuff here.
[00:24:14] That's not the people involved, feeding people, spending the weekend rooms, the whole nine yards.
[00:24:20] So, patreon.com slash.
[00:24:24] Oh, yeah.
[00:24:26] All right.
[00:24:28] So.
[00:24:28] That's awesome.
[00:24:30] And thank you.
[00:24:31] And by the way, I didn't ask you if I could say this, but I'll just trust that it's okay.
[00:24:34] You're not just saying that.
[00:24:35] You're one of our members.
[00:24:36] You're one of our paid members.
[00:24:37] Correct.
[00:24:37] So, thank you for that.
[00:24:38] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:24:39] And to be clear, Modern Foods will always be a no-cost viewing experience for those who either don't have the money or just don't want to spend money.
[00:24:48] So, there is no pressure.
[00:24:49] If that's not your thing or if you just can't, then thankfully we can provide free content to that group.
[00:24:55] And for the people who do want to be a part of how it's financially possible to do this, that's the best way to support us.
[00:25:03] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:25:04] Again, like you, I love foosball, man.
[00:25:07] Thank you, man.
[00:25:07] And any way I can help and support, I just want to do that.
[00:25:11] So, again, listeners, you know, if you can't make it to a tournament or you can't, you know, if you just like what you're seeing, again, go to patreon.com.
[00:25:23] You know, the radio show has a Patreon.
[00:25:26] Modern Foods has a Patreon.
[00:25:28] It's $10 a month, $5 or $15 a month, whatever it is.
[00:25:32] Whatever you can do.
[00:25:33] Whatever you can do is more than appreciated to help support, you know, help support foosball, help support what we do and bring you this great coverage.
[00:25:43] So, I won't talk about that anymore.
[00:25:45] And then I'll also just share a little bit more math on the numbers and how it's possible.
[00:25:49] The YouTube videos, there's ads in those.
[00:25:52] We generate revenue from that.
[00:25:54] Sweet.
[00:25:54] Nice.
[00:25:55] The Twitch stream, if you're watching and you're not a subscriber and you don't spend money anywhere,
[00:26:00] anytime an ad pops up and you have to watch that, that's also part of how we generate revenue.
[00:26:05] So, there's a lot of different places where the revenue comes in.
[00:26:08] We're not getting rich.
[00:26:10] We're probably barely in the black maybe now.
[00:26:14] Okay.
[00:26:15] But there's a lot of different ways to bring in money.
[00:26:17] And I think the main message that I want people to get is that there's no pressure and there's no guilt trip if you don't pay or don't want to pay.
[00:26:26] Because I really believe in just getting foosball to as many people as possible.
[00:26:29] And then I just know that there are people who want to put their money where our mouth is.
[00:26:34] Yeah.
[00:26:34] And then that's the best way to do it, like I said.
[00:26:36] So, thank you for all that.
[00:26:37] Absolutely.
[00:26:38] Absolutely.
[00:26:38] So, and to answer the question of what our next tournament is, we will have Moneyball.
[00:26:42] That's true.
[00:26:43] But there might be some tournaments before that.
[00:26:46] So, this is our last tournament for this year.
[00:26:48] So, 2024 is done.
[00:26:50] Okay.
[00:26:50] Nice.
[00:26:50] And all the videos from nationals and worlds.
[00:26:54] And should we stop?
[00:26:56] Or what do we got going?
[00:26:57] We're getting ready for the Hall of Fame ceremony here at Great Lakes Classic.
[00:27:01] So, we will cut it short.
[00:27:02] But I've got to say, dudes, man, this is bringing back some fantastic memories.
[00:27:07] It's a good time.
[00:27:08] I don't remember any of those.
[00:27:12] But it's, no, it is an open door policy.
[00:27:17] Anytime and every time you guys want to get together.
[00:27:19] We've got another day here.
[00:27:20] Well, who knows?
[00:27:21] We'll see.
[00:27:22] Let's do it.
[00:27:22] Thank you.
[00:27:23] Thanks for having me, Tom.
[00:27:24] Thank you, Randy.
[00:27:24] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:27:25] Appreciate it.
