Randy Raposo made a special trip to the Moxie Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. He joins us for a quick tour and we talk highlights of the ITSF World Cup 2025.

[00:02:15] Incidentally, Randy Raposo is in Nashville, Tennessee this evening making a special appearance as a pro there. And as soon as we can get him to log into the talk, we'll have a conversation with him about what's happening there in the great state of Tennessee. I know that in previous times, of course, Mike was on with us last week promoting Music City Foosball, has not allowed pros to play in their regular events.
[00:02:44] But Randy is there tonight as a special guest and he's going to be doing an exhibition match and also giving a clinic or two about how to become a better foosball player. But Randy, in the meantime, hopefully we'll log on. It looks like he's here now. There's Randy now. Randy, can you hear me? Hold on. I can hear you, Tom. Oh, there you are. I'm sorry. What's happening, man? I just got finished playing a match. I had a feeling.
[00:03:11] I had a feeling you were doing something important like, I don't know, playing foosball. Sorry, man. Yeah. Here, look, let me show you. I'll show you. I'll show you around. Hold on. Yeah, yeah. I watched right here. I was going to say hi. Cool. Say hi. What's up, Ginger? How are you? Hold on. Let me flip the camera. Let me flip the camera. Sure. Sounds good. Great. Will it flip? I don't know. I'm just going to flip. Wait, right here, right here, right here.
[00:03:41] Right here. Cookie. Oh. Hey. Hey. Cookie. I got my baby here. Oh, look at that. Yeah. The love of my life right here. Fantastic. Wow. So is she getting lots of special treats? Nah, she's just hanging out. She's pretty chill. Okay. I'll show you the place real quick. I'm going to go out to the front, and then I'm going to walk in and show you the place. They got music playing. Gotcha. Dude, this would be a great place for a state tournament, for a Tennessee state, or even
[00:04:11] a bigger event. Wow. The hotel, the venue's nice. It's like five minutes off the highway. This is a really, really good spot. There's food all around. The rooms are amazing. This is really, really nice. So here, this is the front door. This is where we come in right here. Oh, check it out. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it's beautiful. They got a pool table right here, and then they got the whole bar set up. Wow. Got some stairs to go up, right?
[00:04:39] It's Nashville, so obviously there's a country music flair, right? Lots of music memorabilia. Wow. It's really nice, man. It's really nice. We're having a good time. And then they got the tables back here in the corner. So. That's a lot of space. Yeah, they got shuffleboard here. They got dots back there in the corner. And then they got the two tables here. We got 12 players out tonight. Nice.
[00:05:08] It's been a really, really, really, really good time. So there's a couple matches going on right now. Miss Kathy Kaler's right here. Say hi, Miss Kathy. Hello, Kathy. Yeah. Yeah. Jonathan Chung back there with John Cunningham. Mr. Billy Kaler right here with Eden Statulik. A couple gentlemen playing singles back here. Some foosers back here talking foosball. I think you know that guy back there. Yep. There's a Dan. Is it Dan Taminski?
[00:05:39] What's up, Dan? I got Tom Robinson on the podcast. Say hi. Hello, Dan. Hey, Taminski. What's up, Dan? He said hi. Great to see you. Mr. LeBoeuf. What's happening? I'm on live with Tom right now. Mr. Kelly's right here running the show. Hello, Mike. How are you doing? What's happening? He said what's happening. Great, great term, man. Randy did a super nice clinic. Everybody loved it. I'm coming around the table. We got 14 players and a monster.
[00:06:09] And pretty good rotations. Pretty good teams. Pretty good play. Fantastic. I'm glad that Randy could be there to show everybody else how to play foosball. You're funny, Tom. So, yeah. That's it, Tom. We're just hanging out, having a good time. And let me see. I did. Yeah, I came in the door. Yeah, yeah. So, everything's been real good, Tom. We're hanging out, having a good time playing some foosball. Cool.
[00:06:38] What's happening over there? Well, you know, I wanted to talk a little bit about what just happened in Zaragoza. Zaragoza, Spain. Oh! I mean, it was a huge weekend. Or a huge week. Shout out to the men's team for getting gold. Yeah. Shout out to the senior team for getting gold. Shout out to the junior team for silver. And, of course, the women's team for bronze. Yep. All our teams medaled. Yes. Amazing. Exactly right.
[00:07:04] It was six days, 51 events, 1,378 players, and a total of 8,328 matches. In six days. A lot of foosball. A lot of foosball. A lot of foosball. A lot of foosball. And, yes. And then we had a bunch of winners. I think Tony and Rob won men's doubles. Yep. Tony's second in singles.
[00:07:35] Cindy Head, Shelly Langley, women's 50 and over doubles. Gold twice. Todd Lafredo. Todd Lafredo, senior singles. I believe Sparky and Gina Murray won 50 and over mixed. Yep. All our seniors did well. Yeah, the seniors. I think Sam and Brady finished. The seniors are the best, man. I mean, look at Sparky and Warren Van Landingham. I mean, they took, you know, the gold. In your classic?
[00:08:05] Yeah, the over 50 classic. I mean, that's just astounding, man. That's fantastic. Yeah. Yeah, they did a nice job. I mean, our people, our players are, I mean, we have the best football players in the world, Tom. Plain and simple. You can't argue that. Plain and simple. I mean, Germany walked away with a few more gold medals, but that's okay. You know, we still made a hell of a show. And we came in second. The number of gold medals we won was eight altogether. Eight. Not bad.
[00:08:34] Eight gold medals. Wow. Wow. What about the total medal count? Total medals. Total medals, I believe. Let's see here. I think I didn't get the total medal count, but there was quite a, I think it was, again, we were like in second place for total medals. Germany did have a really good week, I have to say. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So did Austria. They both did pretty well in the overall totals. But, you know, generally speaking, I got to say, our Team USA was just kicking ass.
[00:09:04] Plain and simple. Yeah. Yeah. And then the feed, the stream was good all week. Yep. Commentary was good. I think, so I watched a little bit of the men's team final. And I think at one point it was like 375 viewers. Yes. Dude, that's awesome, man. That's crazy. There was a time, actually, when it got up to 560 viewers during the stream.
[00:09:33] Foosball is in a great place right now, Tony. It really is. I'm pumped, man. Hey, dude, we're less than two weeks away from Nationals. I'm going to be back up here in Nashville in like 11 days, whatever it is, 12 days. I'm super pumped. These guys here are doing a really, really nice job. You know, my wife and me made the ride up. And we're going to spend the night. We're hanging out, having a good time. Cool. And I'm just thankful. Yeah, man. I went to Georgia and played yesterday. Had some fun.
[00:10:02] And now here we are playing again, just trying to ramp it up for Nationals. So that's it, Tom. Fantastic. Now, we're glad to have you out on the road and doing what you love to do. That's all that matters. Yeah. Well, what I love to do is sit home and just have people send me money. But foosball is like a close second. So, yeah. So, listen, for anybody listening, again, Tom, so I started a Facebook page. Yes.
[00:10:31] And people are kind of like, dude, you're not on Facebook. Well, so my wife and I started our own business. And in order to create a business page, I had to create a personal page. So I'm spamming you if I send you a Facebook request. It's actually me. It's really you. I don't want to be on Facebook, but I'm trying to get my business going. So if you're a listener, do me a favor. Send me a friend request. Follow my business page. Send me. I love you so much.
[00:10:58] And then shout out to my buddy, Jason Kelso. I saw him yesterday in Georgia. And he was he just told me, he's like, man, I listen every week. I love the show. Cool. And again, any any I love I love when players. There was a couple of players yesterday that told me how much they love the show. So I'm just so thankful for anybody that's willing to take time to listen to football. So, yeah, man. Yeah, that's that's that's great news. I you know, if we could get you out on the road more like this, that'd be awesome. I mean, I'd like to join.
[00:11:27] I'd like to be in the same room. That would be that would be handy. But I guess that's probably not going to happen till world championships. So, yeah, Tom, I'll I'll go anywhere you pay for me to go, buddy. You got that's a deal right there. That's a deal. Absolutely. And I'm getting a better end of that one for sure. But coming to you live from Tahiti or Fiji or. Yeah. Anyway, I know my wife would like that.
[00:11:56] So or maybe Jim Bob's basement, you know, who knows? Yeah, I know. Wherever there's baseball, Tom, I want to be there. That's it. No doubt. So just a quick shout out to to Sam Dijon. I just want to let him know that we're thinking about him. Unfortunately, he got food poisoning at JFK. Oh, yeah. Oh, and he did. Sorry, Sammy. He did recover enough to to make it to Zurgos and compete.
[00:12:24] But I have a feeling he probably wasn't, you know, 100 percent when he got there. But our best to Sam and hopefully he feels better soon. But there's nothing worse than having to play with a with reduced energy like that. Yeah. I've had food poisoning, man. It's the worst. Like you want to talk about feeling like a shell of yourself. That'll do it. Oh, yeah. No question. Yeah. It's it's one of those things. But, hey, it happens. But at least he made it to Spain.
[00:12:53] And and again, we're proud of everybody who made it there. And what a what a fantastic event. You know, it's great to hear Jim Stevens voice once again doing some play by play. Yeah, it's always good to hear, Jim. Like I said, the stream was good. The the comments, everything was good, man. The everything looked great this weekend. I mean, dude, almost fourteen hundred players in a room and then the stands were full. Right. Dude, it was crazy. I would love to get there one day.
[00:13:22] I really hope I can. But well, there's always 2027. So maybe we can make a deal. We'll get we'll get all packed up and go and do some broadcasting or something. I think they need a good foosball podcast on site. Don't you? I'll go talk to all the Europeans. Nice. You know, I was a little scared about, you know, if I was like Jim Stevens and I had to pronounce all those names, I would not be able to handle it. I'm sorry. I confess.
[00:13:51] I said I'd screw it up. No doubt. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So it was a good week. It was a good week of foosball, Tom. Yeah. It's been a good week in the foosball and it's only going to get better a couple of weeks and we'll be we'll be rolling in Nashville. So, yes, sir. That's it. I'm glad I was able to jump on. Tom, if anybody's if anybody's within driving distance of the Moxie Vanderbilt and downtown Nashville tonight.
[00:14:21] Come down on Sundays. Come support it. It's always a good time. These guys do a really nice job. Just a really nice fun bunch of guys. They love foosball. It's it's it's it's a good time. So Nashville is going to be Nashville is going to be great in a couple of weeks. That's it, Tom. I'm just I got I got to get back to the table. I got it. Well, you know what? I hope you enjoy this weekend. But next weekend you get to do whatever you like because we're taking the Fourth of July weekend off.
[00:14:51] Sweet. Actually, I got to take my wife to the airport because she's leaving to go to Europe. So that was perfect timing. Thanks, Tom. The week after, we're looking looking forward to talking to people like Steve Biney of Ohio State. So we've got some people lined up here and we're looking forward to getting back. But in two weeks. Sounds good. Well, that'll be that'll be Nationals weekend, Tom. That's right. Nationals weekend coming right up. So one right after the other. So at any rate, we'll we'll we'll probably touch base with you at Nationals. Sounds good.
[00:15:21] Cool, Tom. I'm here if you need me. Let me know, buddy. All right. Be healthy. Be safe. And thanks for joining us. And we'll be back again in two weeks on Foos Talk Live.
